Just a little more…

Well…it was a long day today with the trip to Mt. P today and I got a pleasant surprise that the mileage on the car is around 30 on the highway…which I really wasn’t expecting since it is not built to be a highway cruiser…and it is nice to have a car that I don’t have to think about when I go somewhere….and I did have to the top down the whole way but did get a little wet north with the rain that was falling for the first 30 miles or so coming back…had a lot of fun and found out a bunch of stuff today and it was good to see C and Ren…oh, and D, too….so, I’m sure you’ve guessed that this is just kind of a filler for the day but I will be back tomorrow with at least three good ones…I’m going to have G and t’s tonight so I should feel okay in the morning….I hope there will be sleep tonight since I’ve been up since 4:30 and driving over 200 miles is kind of wearing….we’ll see…

June 21st

Well…another night of no sleep and up at 5:30 and this is getting tiring….not going to say much right now but I do have a road trip to do to Mt. P today….so, I may only do a couple of these….I used to think it was kind of magical to be up at this time of the day but now I just think it’s a pain in the ass….when did sleeping become optional? I’m waiting for the damn dish to reset but I’m done for now…I’ll be back later for more but right now I need to do something else…

Just another thought…

Well…I don’t know how I forgot this one from the papers today….and I think it’s a little reported consequence of the emergency manager law here in Michigan that lets officials appointed by the governor take over cities and towns that are in financial distress….and it gives the repubs here just another tool to jam their vision of the state as a corporate paradise down the electorates throat. In two school districts that have been taken over, the appointed repubs are proposing that all of the eduction of the children there be turned over to for profit corporations; firing all of the teachers and administrators (yep, they are union workers), something that they tried through legislation but were defeated. What else are they going to destroy before we tell them we’ve had enough of this crap? Corporations and privatization are not the solution to every problem that is facing us here in Michigan…if that were the case, why don’t we privatize the legislature and the governor’s office? What about the families that now don’t know where their kids are going to go to school in the fall? What about the teachers who have worked their whole lives and now are being told to “reapply” for their jobs at half the pay they were making before? And, what about the only two companies who have said they are interested in taking on this job and whose schools they currently run are substandard in performance to the public schools they compete with? This is just another attempt by the repubs to destroy the unions that they have an unreasonable hatred for…these guys have no shame and are the biggest threat to democracy that we have ever faced….geez…

Trying to catch up…

Well…it’s been a day of nothing really…I do have to at least try to get caught up…there was a weird happening last night…I saw a spot on CMT (country music television) advertising for a show this weekend that has Joe Walsh doing songs with country stars…how weird is that? I am going to stay up and watch that one just to see how strange it is…I wonder if he’ll do a country version of “Funk 49″? That would be just too weird…but not as weird as me watching CMT…what else? Hmmm….it’s first day of summer…haven’t mentioned that…even though I have the new car, the perfect one for summer, I still miss hanging around with my friends…now I’m down to Tom basically and never thought it would happen like this…and I just can’t get motivated to do more to find more of them…there are days that I don’t talk to anyone anymore and that is something…not sure what but it is something…not much else to talk about right now so I won’t…I may have to come back later to another one just to do what the title says….

A few things I find funny..

Well…have been thinking about a few things this morning and there are a few of them that I find funny…the funniest one was the bus tour that Mitt Romney did here in Michigan over the past few days where he touted the “jobs, jobs, jobs” that would come from his administration….but not once in the time here did he mention unions and his hatred of them and the fact that policies that he supports would destroy most of them…and along with them, the ability of people get a good job that would pay a living wage…I wonder what “jobs” he was talking about?

Another thing I find funny is the fact the businesses here in Michigan, and across the country have stopped hiring even after the huge tax cut they were given by the repubs that was supposed to work it’s “magic” and create “jobs, jobs, jobs”….but, no one is paying attention here…have never seen this fact mentioned in any newspaper (and I read almost a dozen of them everyday) or by any other media outlet…when did the lies of the repubs stop being news?

I think I’m getting fatigued by all of the political nonsense that is going on…oh, I do have one more thing I find funny…that the repubs are declaring “victory” in Wisconsin since Walker retained the governor’s chair…but they never mention that they lost the senate to the dems…let’s see him try to get any of the radical right crap passed now…and this idiot is now being considered as a VP candidate…geez…

June 20th

Well…it was a little surprising yesterday so I didn’t come back for another one…as you saw…I did go out and shoot pool with Tom and won in a championship game and that was the surprise…was supposed to go to Mt P but that didn’t pan out so I shot pool instead…there were no dreams again last night and I am getting concerned that it is connected to my not sleeping…not much to do today…it looks like another scorcher today and I’ll probably just lay low here and veg today…after coffee and the papers, of course..and I will come back for two more today since I am gradually losing the battle with staying current…

June 19th

Well…it was a hot, long day yesterday and I didn’t really accomplish much…didn’t sleep much either last night and I feel kind of strange this morning…I was good, though so that can’t be it…I am going out to get the papers today since it is already over 75 degrees heading for 90+ so I guess I’ll have to get the bike ride in early….not much to do today…I am waiting on finding out if there is a MP trip in the cards today and I just hate waiting for things to happen…oh, well… that’s life…I’ll be back later for more since I may be working up the outrage again…

Just can’t get outraged…oh, maybe I can…

Well…I’m not sure what is going on since I haven’t been able to work up any political outrage for the last couple of weeks…I did want to make a short comment on the ‘promise’ from the repubs that, if the healthcare law gets struck down by the supreme court, that they will do nothing on healthcare until after the election…they will do nothing for the millions of young people who will be thrown off their parents policies, they will do nothing for the millions of people who will lose their coverage due to pre-existing conditions…and they will do nothing for the millions of people who will still be living on the ragged edge of losing it all for being uninsured. But, as you know, that is what the repubs do…nothing…and then just sit there and bitch about someone else trying to make things better for the middle class all the while convincing the stupid electorate that if they trust them, they will do something in the future…like more tax cuts for the rich…geez…

June 18th

Well….it was a total veg day yesterday and I accomplished nothing…but, I did hear from all of the kids and that was kind of cool…slept really crappy, as always, and I am having trouble getting started today….it is going to be another hot one so I do need to get out on the bike early but there is just no motivation to write this or do anything else…so, I am going to stop here and come back to add later…

Okay…just got back from coffee and had a few comments to add…took the car in to have the trans and diff checked for oil today and they were both good…they even showed me the oil and it looked new…and they didn’t even charge me for the work which was pretty cool…one weird thing at the coffee shop…the entire 45 minutes that I was sitting outside reading the papers, there was a guy sitting there idling in his car doing something…what can you do for 45 minutes sitting in a car with it running…while you are alone, that is? Some people just don’t have any courtesy in them….at least it wasn’t a diesel F-350….

Part two…

Well…it has been a total veg day today with just watching races, soccer, and cooking…I did make this huge ham today that I will have to freeze a couple pounds from…or more, really, since it is so huge….I did hear from all of the kids but one today for father’s day and that was kind of nice but I don’t really celebrate it….the allergies are crazy with all of the hot weather and I have been miserable all day today…I may have a couple of cocktails tonight to watch the end of “The Killing” but, with being up since about 5, I am going to bed early…probably at 10 when the show is over…I have been falling behind but politics have been so depressing that I don’t want to think about it…how in the world can the liar Romney even be in the race? I guess stupidity runs rampant in the American electorate…
