Well…reading a news story about how the chrisitanists in Louisiana are illegally allowing religion in their public schools, it points out just how far these supposed religious people will go to impose their brand of religion on everyone and use it as a weapon to intimidate those who have different religions. In a middle school in Louisiana, one teacher even goes so far as to teach her classes that the bible ” is 100% true”, and that “evolution is impossible” and that a buddhist student is stupid for not believing in her god. The response of the superintendent of schools there was even worse…when the parents complained of the teachers bullying of their son, this idiot suggested that the child “change his religion” since they live in the bible belt, or change schools…not a word about the illegality of this teacher’s action but just get he hell out of here if you are not a christian. This is what is wrong with these christian terrorists…they are no better than the Taliban who also want to impose their twisted interpretation of a religion at the point of a gun….but Louisiana uses the full force of the government to do it…I hope the ACLU will be successful in making these folks understand that the first amendment applies to them…geez…

Tennessee Republicans are bastards…
Well….I have been reading about this story for the better part of the week and I still can’t believe what I’ve seen…always looking for more ways to punish the less fortunate, the repubs in Tennessee have sunk to to the lowest low I have ever seen…this week, these assholes pushed two bills in the legislature that would punish kids of poor families who are on assistance by taking money away from the family if the child is struggling in school and doesn’t meet some arbitrary standard….yep, these pricks want to put whether the family eats or not on the performance of a 6,7, or 8 year old who is probably already doing poorly because of going to school hungry every day. What kind of a person would torture children this way? It is nothing less that child abuse being pushed by these son of a bitches and they should be ashamed of themselves and their continuing attacks on the disadvantaged…how can they live with themselves? Geez…

Well…I don’t know how I forgot this one from the papers today….and I think it’s a little reported consequence of the emergency manager law here in Michigan that lets officials appointed by the governor take over cities and towns that are in financial distress….and it gives the repubs here just another tool to jam their vision of the state as a corporate paradise down the electorates throat. In two school districts that have been taken over, the appointed repubs are proposing that all of the eduction of the children there be turned over to for profit corporations; firing all of the teachers and administrators (yep, they are union workers), something that they tried through legislation but were defeated. What else are they going to destroy before we tell them we’ve had enough of this crap? Corporations and privatization are not the solution to every problem that is facing us here in Michigan…if that were the case, why don’t we privatize the legislature and the governor’s office? What about the families that now don’t know where their kids are going to go to school in the fall? What about the teachers who have worked their whole lives and now are being told to “reapply” for their jobs at half the pay they were making before? And, what about the only two companies who have said they are interested in taking on this job and whose schools they currently run are substandard in performance to the public schools they compete with? This is just another attempt by the repubs to destroy the unions that they have an unreasonable hatred for…these guys have no shame and are the biggest threat to democracy that we have ever faced….geez…
