Well…was just watching and episode of and old tv show called “Run for your life” and in the opening scene they have a jazz band on stage that has a Hammond B-3…does that count? I’m going to count it since it is so cool to see a show from 1965 with a B-3 in it….

Well…needed to do this one before I forgot it….was watching tv the other day and Steppenwolf’s “Born to be Wild” came on and the organ part is certainly a Hammond B-3….so, add another one to the B-3 count…oh, and I saw another commercial that had “Magic Carpet Ride” in it and that is almost all B-3…

Well…keeping with my obsession with the Hammond B-3 organ…am watching a concert on AXS tv right now with the jam band from Colorado, the String Cheese Incident…it it raining so hard that they have the instruments covered but there is no mistaking a B-3 when you hear it…so, let’s add another one to the B-3 count…
Okay, they just uncovered the organ and it IS a B-3….

Well…was going to write about Trump again today but I haven’t had time to read about the latest ugliness so I thought I’d do this one first…was watching the show “Roadies” the other day and the fake band had a B-3 on stage…so, I wonder if this one counts or not…it was a real B-3 but a fake band….I guess I’ll count it anyway…

Well…watching the DNC convention and Lenny Kravitz is playing…his band has a B-3 on stage…so I get another one for the B-3 count….

Well…as you know, I have a continuing series on people and bands that use the Hammond B-3 organ…it is kind of an obsession with me….so, watching a tribute to Bob Dylan on AXS right now and Willie Nelson is on doing a song where one of the backup band is using a B-3…so, do I count this as Dylan or Willie? Hmmm….not sure about that one…but, I am caught up for the month….

Well…back to do another one on my obsession with the Hammond B-3 organ and the bands that used it…was watching a concert with the original lineup of the Beach Boys the other day and there it was… a B-3 sitting on the side of the stage but this one was painted white which was quite weird but still easily recognizable…so, add another one to the B-3 count…

Well…here I go again…have just seen another band that uses the Hammond B-3 organ as part of their instrumentation…and this one is a little funny…it’s the Tedeschi/Trucks band made up of Butch Trucks nephew and Susan Tedeschi…..she used to come here and play Blues on the Mall…and Derek played with the Allman brothers….oh, it’s on the New Orleans Jazz festival on AXS…

Well…back to my obsession again…recording every time I see another band using the iconic Hammond B-3 organ….and today, when I got back from visiting Tom, I turned on a John Fogerty concert and there is another beat up old B-3 sitting at the back of the stage…so that adds one more to the B-3 count….
