Well…after the news this week on the overtures from Iran on trying to start toward normalizing relations with the US, we got the expected response from the repubs in a letter to Obama from McCain and some of the other idiots on the right…and guess what the advice is? It is to shout louder at the Iranians and to not negotiate unless the US will tell them what we want and accept nothing less thai everything we want. Now, this is not diplomacy by any stretch of the imagination and is the same failed policy that led us into war in Iraq…didn’t the repubs see that diplomacy can work as it did in Syria? It just goes back to how the repubs view negotiating and compromise in our government…as in they won’t unless the left gives them everything they want and they won’t be satisfied if they ever have to compromise one iota. That doesn’t work here, and it sure won’t work in the international arena…but the stupidity and ideological rigidity of the right just can’t allow any new thinking…even if there have been good results…geez…

Let’s burst the bubble of saint Ronnie…
Well…I am gagging at the new repub talking point that goes something like this: Saint Ronnie would have responded more quickly to any chemical weapon attack than Obama and would not have allowed anyone to use them when he was in office….and this comes from “top republicans” in congress….what a crock of crap. Do these people not even think of history when they open their mouths? Let’s burst this bubble right now with just a small dose of history that these idiots conveniently ignore…first, during saint Ronnie’s term…the administration knew that Iraq was using chemical weapons in it’s war with Iran and even used satellite photos to tell Iraq where the Iranian troops were…hundreds of thousands killed…second, saint Ronnie stood by when Saddam turned his chemical weapons on the Kurds in Iraq that were revolting against his regime…another 100,000 dead or maimed…saint Ronnie knew and did nothing. So, to say that saint Ronnie is the template for action on the use of chemical weapons is to laugh, and laugh, and laugh….what happened on his watch is so much worse than what is happening now in Syria that the repubs need to just shut up about it…not that they will…truth doesn’t mean anything to them when they think they are scoring political points…geez…
A bunch of jumbled thoughts…
Well…just sat down here again without any big topic to write about so I thought I’d just get started and see where it takes me…this is a political one if that’s what your here for…if not, stay anyway, it’s always a crap shoot if any of this is going to make sense but sometimes I do…let’s go…..the first thing I want to talk about is the headlong rush to attack Iran that is happening on the right…I just can’t understand why anyone would champion doing that after so many years of war and a debilitated military that has resulted…can’t we just give our military a rest for a while? Maybe we can sell peace to the repubs by saying that we can give a tax cut to everyone if we don’t attack…and the idea that Iran would use a nuclear bomb even if they had one is almost as crazy as the idea of attacking is…Iraq would be turned into glass by the Israelis if they ever did so what would be the point of it? Let’s cool down for a while and let the sanctions work….
Man..to see how far the repubs have driven off the cliff to the right, all you have to do is look at the debate the other night where the candidates were attacking ole GW…it made me smile but shake my head at the same time…these guys are just crazier than hell and I just can’t believe it….and then we have Santorum saying that Satan is responsible for all of the problems in the US and his wife has said that it was a “call from god” that got her husband into the race…I don’t even know what to say about that….another reason to eliminate religion from the world…okay, that’s a little harsh but how can people believe this stuff? Oh, and for a religous person, Santorum doesn’t take the commandments too seriously…he’s lying away again today about his endorsement of Arlen Spector and the quid pro quo on Supreme Court justices….Okay….need to go put lunch on so I’ll go…pretty mediocre..but at least I got to it…counts for something doesn’t it?
