Well…dang, another busy day and I’m finally done…and it’s a little after three again and I guess that’s the new quitting time for me…got two bike rides in and they were pretty brutal with the wind blowing over 15 out here, and then I masked off the front door frame and put two coats of paint on it so that one is done…only two more to do but those are both interior doors so I can do them any time…their frames have old trim on the inside that will need to be sanded since they have about forty eleven coats of paint on them so the prep will probably take a few hours each….and I got almost all the paint off my hands already so it will be easy to clean them in a while….and I got done before the Michigan game that comes on at 3:30 so now I’m taking a break for a few minutes to catch up on the news for a bit…so, a political one today? Who knows? If I find a good topic I just might get to one….I did re-injure my lower back today somehow and I am stiff as heck again…darn…

Well…5:29…that’s all I need to say about that…feel okay this morning but I really hate being late on coffee…and I may have to drag out the french press since I decided to not make coffee last night and I think I misjudged how much was in the pot…oh, well…slept okay last night even with getting up early and feel okay…not too sore even with the rides and all of the work yesterday and that is welcome after being so stiff for a few days…I may still have to think about riding today if the forecast winds do appear…10-20 mph is a bit much if it hits the high end of the forecast and I think that’s how I hurt myself earlier in the week…..I am going to get the front door masked off today so I can paint the interior portion of it either today or tomorrow…and there is no rain in the forecast until next sat so I can do that any day….I’ll be done with the outside after I get that frame painted but I need to get on the winter wheels this week to get them painted so I can buy the new winter tires in the next couple of weeks…want to be ready for the snow that may come earlier out here…will be my first winter here and I’m not sure what to expect…probably lots of lake effect snow and lots of shoveling since I decided to not buy a snowblower this year…still able to shovel and I know I can use the exercise….not much to do today…just going to watch F1 qualifying here in a few minutes and need to check when Man U plays so I don’t miss that…they have been stinking up the place and I’m not sure why…but I’ll still watch in case they put together a good match…and Michigan plays sometime today so I won’t be too bored….more later….

Well…darn, it has turnd into another work day today and I just finished up and it’s almost 3…again…had to get started early today with running a couple of errands both to get grass seed and a furnace filter and then over to Meijers to get my powerball tickets with the jackpot over 500 mil and 6 bucks is cheap to have hope for two more days…then out on the bike for a good ride and then mowed, fed, and seeded the lawn…had lunch and then back on the bike for the second ride and I realized why I normally don’t do two rides on mowing days…legs were flat as heck all the way through the ride and they hurt like nuts right now…and I got my water bill and I spent 45 bucks watering the lawn last month but that comes with trying to make a new lawn…with cooler temps, I can cut back to every 3 or 4 days of watering to try to get that bill down…and I hope it starts the fall rains at some point since it is fall now…it is going to rain overnight so I won’t have to water until probably tues….now it’s time to take a little break and watch some F1 and soccer….

Well…running about on time this morning but I’m still having a hard time getting started….I wonder if the cooler weather has anything to do with it? Not going to be able to get on the bike until after 9 today when it will be warm enough to go out in shorts…and the wind is going to be manageable…only around 5 mph or so and that will make for a good ride that won’t make me hurt like I do right now…but, I need to get out to Menards to get some grass seed before that and then hit Meijers to get my powerball ticket for tomorrow since the jackpot is over 500 mil…need to look at bird feeders at both places, too, and buy one if I can find a stick on for under 15 bucks….I can get a nice one on amazon for that price but I’d like to buy local if I can…want to get that up before winter so the birds can find it and get used to it….I do need to get the last of the food on the lawn this morning, too, and I may mow the front of the house since the grass is getting pretty long and I do need to continue to mulch until the leaves fall….and I do need to continue to finish the painting on the front door but I need to mask it all off first and that will take about an hour with having to do all the hinges to keep them looking new…not much to do today…the day looks pretty busy with all I have to do and that’s okay…I can rest during winter…but I know I won’t with all of the work I have to do in here…still not sure how nice I want to leave this place for the next owner….more later….

Well…after getting the kitchen cleaned and the floor scrubbed then cleaning the living room and the couch…and then rotating the cushions so they get the same amount of wear, I was done for the day, or so I thought. I just loafed for an hour or so and then noticed that it had stopped raining so, of course, I got suited up and got on the bike…but I forgot to check the wind and when I turned north out of the alley, the wind hit me hard and I almost turned around…after the brutal ride yesterday, I didn’t want another one of those…but, I’m an idiot…or an optimist so I kept going with the hope that it would be better…and it was, a little, with the wind almost out of the north instead of NE like yesterday…but it was still blowing over 17 and that made it brutal at times but I survived it…and I saw a flock of 6 Blue Herons just standing next to the trail along the lake and I’ve never seen that before…and there was a bunch of deer standing in somone’s front yard on the way out to the lake…and that was kind of cool, too…I think these rides have contributed to my middle back pain since it hurts bad again right now but it’s not bad enough to take anything for it…so now, it’s almost 3…can I take the rest of the day off?

Well….running late this morning with not getting out of bed til 7 or so but I still feel pretty tired and sore from something…damn, I wonder if it’s from just digging out the dirt for the landing pad yesterday? If I get sore from that little bit of work I wonder what it will be like when I actually do some heavy work? Cripes, it sucks getting old…it looks like the forecasters got it right for once and it is raining and looks like for most of the day…hey, my heat just came on for the first time since April…I did check the filter and hit the combustion blower with wd yesterday just in case and it seems pretty quiet…but I am going to get a new filter this week since this place is so dusty….it is a little bit of a relief that the furnace started…the first time of the year always has me a little concerned that it is not going to start but, with having enough money in the bank to cover any emergency, there is a lot less stress….it looks like it may be a day off the bike and I think I could use it with how much my thighs hurt riding yesterday in the high wind….and with the rain it means I can just ease into the day and have more coffee and read the news before I get after cleaning the kitchen….may even do the windows, too, to  get them ready for winter….I want to do that for all the windows before it gets cold but I think I have at least a couple of weeks to get that done….not much to do today….just going to sit here for a while and sip on some coffee and probably look for a topic for later….I had to cut out one meal yesterday with only getting on the bike once and will have to do the same today so I won’t have to cook with having leftover lasagna that will last the next three days…not eating enough may be a reason why I feel worn out this morning but I won’t be able to tell that til later….I should clean the fridge today, too, but I’m not too motivated right now…and may not be all day….more later….

Well….with how hard the wind is blowing out here, I almost skipped riding this morning after getting out only a couple of hundred yards…but, I pushed on and got one ride in but it was brutal with a steady wind of over 15 out of the NE and gusting to 25 or so…I never go out when it’s like that so I wonder why I did it today? All I know is that my thighs were burning the entire way and there were times that I was all the way down to low gear on the big front sprocket just to keep moving forward and I was down to around 4 mph at times in places where I’m normally going 16…so it was a lot of work and I skipped the second ride….but, I did get the landing pad for the garbage bin cut into the yard and the blocks installed…looks pretty cool and the 3 x3 pad is just the right size for the bin…and the pattern looks cool, too…with red and grey blocks..and the dirt I took out filled the depression in the yard that has been bugging me for a while now so that worked out pretty cool…and all for about 13 bucks…but I am really sore right now and need to take a break…so the kitchen will get done tomorrow…and the painting will get done Friday….need to do the weed walk tomorrow, too, but I can hold off mowing until Sat….going to load the lawn up with the rest of the feed I have in the garage and then I’ll be done with the lawn for the year until the leaves start to fall….yeah, I could have said another busy day but I guess those are normal for me now…

Well…just spent the last 20 minutes getting the laptop re-configured after it updated last night…what a pain….didn’t get up until almost 7 this morning but I don’t feel like I slept much…and my right forearm still hurts like crazy and I would really like to know how I hurt it so I don’t do it again…it finally did rain yesterday and it looks like it’s going to off and on for the next day or so and that will be good for the lawn but not good for getting things done…but, I’ve bitched so much about how it doesn’t rain out here that I should just stop about it raining…shouldn’t have to mow the lawn until after the rain stops and the only other thing I have to do is put in the blocks for the trash bin landing pad that I am going to pick up this morning but I need to decide exactly where I want to put it and then set them into the dirt so I can run the mower over them….I do know I’m getting two colors so I can make a design that will look like an X….and that will basically finish the yard for the year although I’m thinking of planting a hedge along the back fence but I think that will wait til spring…I do need to get a window bird feeder so I can watch the birds this winter but I haven’t picked one out yet…still have time for that…not much to do today…have the grocery run to do and then I need to clean the kitchen and scrub the floor…. and get at least one ride in but I’m going to try for two…I think Man U plays this aft so I need to get moving this morning….more later….

Well…when I got up this morning, the plan was to take the day off the bike with the rain and just putter around here and take it easy but, as always, that never works out….once I had some coffee in me, I got at putting some area rugs in the washing machine since they were looking pretty ratty…and then got to cleaning up my bike room downstairs and putting my tools away…finally…then, the rain ended so I decided to get at least one ride in and got absolutely muddy on the ride so then I had to clean the bike to get all of the grit off it…then I had to let it dry so I could re-lube it and put it away…I had run out of clean clothes so I had to do a load of laundry and while that was running, I decided to mop the floor of the bike room to get  the dirt and grease off it from working on the bikes but I had to get the shop vac out first to get the dirt and other crud off it..so then I mopped it with dish soap that works well on grease and let it dry for an hour or so and then put all of the bike stuff back along with getting rid of all of the punctured tubes and boxes from moving in…and I just finished getting  the clothes out of the dryer and putting them away and it is after 3:30…so, another 7 and 1/2 hours of working around here…I’m supposed to be retired…I need a day off…maybe in the winter?

Well…”6:05, outside the stadium” anyone who is a dan fan recognizes that line from “Glamour Profession”….sounds like we got a little rain out here around 5:30 or so when I could hear it hitting my siding even through I was wearing earplugs…and it may rain again but the forecast has been scaled back to where I will be able to get on the bike a little after noon…and the gale warning is still in effect but I sure don’t see any wind…..it was so cool last night when I went out to just sit on my front steps for a while and listen to the wind in the trees…it was so nice and quiet…no thumping music and it was neat that you could hear gusts of wind coming from the noise the leaves on the trees made….and the big dipper was in the sky right in front of me…I think I sat out there for an hour and I can say I have almost fixed this neighborhood…something that I didn’t think I could for a long time….not sure what I did but my right forearm is howling in pain this morning…it can’t be from just scrubbing my bathroom yesterday? All I have to do is rotate it to trigger the pain and stiffness….going to hurt on the bike today….but, I do like how the shower and  the rest of the bathroom looks so it’s worth the pain….not much to do today…I was really ready to have a day off the bike and just clean around here but the rain won’t last all day…it is going to be pretty cool today and from now on with the temp struggling to get to 70 for highs….and the next few days in the low 60’s…but that is okay…I love the fall except for cleaning up the leaves…I wonder what the color is going to look like out here? Should be pretty cool…I do get to take it easy this morning with the last rain getting here in the next half hour or so…and it looks like I’ll be on the bike by 10 or so….so maybe two rides again today…and cleaning…have to clean up the bike room and put my tools away, then mop the floor since it is greasy from the bikes….and I do want to clean the kitchen since it really needs it…more later…
