What a bunch of third graders…

Well…damn, today almost got away from me again and I’m here for a political one but later than I like…so, Georgia repubs acting like 3rd graders again? Yep…after they passed their Jim Crow voter suppression law that targeted the AA community and everyone else who won’t ever vote for repubs, Delta Airlines, whose HQ is in Atlanta, came out with a mild statement that basically said they don’t think taking away the vote from anyone is a good idea….and of course, the repubs acted like the third graders they are and passed a bill that would take away some tax breaks that they granted Delta a few years back…this would cost Delta around 50 million dollars a year and these assholes were preening around in front of the cameras with pride, just like a toddler who has learned how to go potty. Now, these pricks are all about the first amendment when it comes to their side, protecting the right to lie constantly and just make stuff up, but when a company (who has donated millions to repubs over the years) takes them to task, they just have to lash out since some of them know what they are doing is wrong and they can’t stand having their noses rubbed in it…and this won’t be the last time….the tide is building for a boycott of the entire economy of Georgia and I wonder what they will do when one of these companies will just say enough and will move out of their confederate state? Explain that to the people who will lose jobs, morons…geez…

April 5th

Well…damn, my heel hurts again today and it was bleeding so badly that my sock was stuck to the blood and I had to peel it off to treat it…I thought I had healed them all but all of the walking yesterday must have opened one back up again…and now I’ll be limping around here for the next week while I try to treat it….and I didn’t sleep too well so I feel pretty crappy this morning…..and I did the one meal thing again yesterday since I got behind and didn’t have lunch until almost 2 in the afternoon so that put me out of schedule for dinner so I just skipped it….and that is three days in a row now and I can’t keep that up…so, I’m going to have some rye toast for breakfast to try to make up for some of it and then have some chicken for lunch….but I want to get a bike ride in before that since my brother is coming over and bringing the mower and string trimmer that I bought from him so I need to get everything done before 1 or so….and I need to get all of the yard waste out for pickup tomorrow which will split my heel even more but I need to get it gone so I can get back to work on the lawn…it is pretty cool that there is a thunderstorm out here right now and I think it’s the first good rain we’ve had out here in the 5 weeks I’ve been here….I do need to buy a lawn spreader to get some food and weed killer on the lawn as it starts to grow but that will wait until I get the 1400 dollar check…if I get it…more later….

I’m beat…

Well…who knew that working on the yard for three hours and then taking a 20 mile bike ride with only having a half a chicken breast and some rice to eat yesterday would have any ill effects? I am beat….and I know part of it is not eating enough but I am losing some weight so I think it’s a good trade off…I got all of the front of the house edged and raked the rest of the leaves and even edged the side fence…but that took 5 loads of sting for the string trimmer and that was a pain constantly filling the spool….but, it does look pretty good so I guess it’s worth it…and I am going to get some grass killer this week to spray under the fence and keep it from growing back and kill off the grass that is on the neighbor’s side of the fence since it appears they never trim it….and I got all of that done before the rains we are supposed to get later in the week…then, even though I was sore as crap from working, I got on the bike in a t-shirt with it being 58 when I got the yard done and took a nice ride out to the lake…and I discovered another nice park right out by the beach that is on the channel into Muskegon Lake that I am going to add to my daily ride to get it closer to 15 miles every day…but again, I’m beat and need to take a break…so I am…

This is what deregulation does…

Well…over the years, repub governors in red states have not seen a regulation they didn’t hate and have spent a lot of time and effort doing industry’s bidding in getting rid of just about any regulation that would protect the people of their states if it would cost business even one thin dime…and we can see the results in Texas where some chemical plant or other explodes almost every week and a cold spell costs consumers there thousands of dollars each with their deregulated electricity market. Just today, we see another effect of that blind allegiance to deregulation with the declaration of a state of emergency in Florida with a retention lake filled with radioactive waste starting to collapse as the owners of the company walked away and left the millions of gallons of waste behind as they filled their pockets with cash. Deregulation is what made it profitable for these thieves to walk away rich while the people who are going to lose their homes are left holding the bag…the company was not required to do any planning or to pay for mitigation of their waste since the repubs think it would be too much of a cost for business and they would leave if they had to do even a little to stop polluting the environment….so now we have a Love Canal sized contamination event going on and no one in Florida is doing a damn thing about it except declaring a state of emergency…no shelters, no nothing for the people who are losing their homes…in Florida’s business utopia, everyone is on their own and that’s just the way the repubs want it….geez….

April 4th

Well…running about on time for a Sunday morning after reading the paper…darn, it feels good to have everything back to normal and have nothing hanging over my head that has to be done…and having a normal sink in the kitchen seems to be such a luxury…to run as much water as I want and to do the dishes at my speed is just so damn cool…and you know that little things make me happy…so, I guess I am…tossed and turned a bunch last night and woke up with my covers twisted around me so I know it wasn’t the best night’s sleep but I feel okay this morning…was just so damn sore yesterday that I expected to be more sore today but it’s not as bad as yesterday and that is a little confusing after cutting up all of the branches yesterday…my hands do hurt and my right shoulder is a little iffy but that is about it….and I have more work to do on the yard today…want to get the front raked along with picking up all of the small branches that are still strewn all over the yard after taking down the limbs Thursday….and I want to rake the last side of the fencing that I have to do and get the string trimmer out to do the long grass that has grown up under the fence….but first, I want to get a ride in but I’m not sure when that will be…would like to get out in shorts today but that will mean waiting til the afternoon and I need to get it in before Man U plays at 3…so I guess I’ll be out working on the yard this morning…but not until I have more coffee and read the news….more later…

Done for the day…

Well…yep, it looks like no political one today since it is getting late and I am worn out from working around here all day…I did have a little time to take it easy and watch part of a soccer match but after Leicester got down 2 to 0, I lost interest and decided to get the branches that I cut down Thursday cut up and and packed so I can put them out Monday night…and I did all of it with my 18 inch Stanley pruning saw…either that saw is the sharpest one ever, or the branches were the softest wood ever since even the ones that were close to 4 inches thick took less than a minute to cut through and I didn’t need my brothers chain saw…well…I still have one log that is about 5 feet long and about 7 inches thick that I still need to cut up but I stashed it beside the garage for now and will worry about that later…and I still have some dead branches on the trees that I should take down but I’ve done enough for today so that will wait a while…after all, I did get a 15 mile ride in with a 20 mph wind this morning and that was pretty brutal along with all of the cleanup work….damn, I have blisters on my fingers from tying the nylon string I used to tie up the bundles and that is going to hurt later…oh, well….

4321…

Well…forgot to write about this little bit of number coincidence today…can you guess what it means? Yep…it’s today’s date…4/3/21…something that is kind of cool to see and one of those things that gives me a little smile…of course it only means something here in the US…in Europe it is 3/4/21 since they put the day first and the month second…what does it mean? Nothing, really…my brain just is weird at times….

April 3rd

Well…damn, it feels good to get up and have everything working again so I can read the news and come here to do this…I wasn’t good last night so I feel a bit slow this morning and I think that was the last night for a while since I prefer getting up and feeling good…I slept okay last night but I’m back to having no dreams and that sucks a little…and I am just damn sore everywhere from cutting the branches Thursday and I think it’s going to take a while for that to go away…and I still need to cut the branches up and bundle them for the trash people Tuesday but I can live with it if I don’t get them out this week….I am going to finally get back on the bike today since it will be 43 by 10 am and I can get out in half thermasuit but will still need gloves…I wonder where the hell spring is? It’s frickin April and I’m still freezing my butt off on the bike? Oh, well…it will be good to just get out and start getting back to my normal routine…but, I can hear the wind so it is going to be a lot of work on the bike….not much to do today…just going to revel in having things working around here again and start thinking about getting started on painting the living room but I’m not going to rush it….still need to take it easy for a bit and just live for a change…and watch some soccer this morning…finally….more later….

The stupidest thing you’ve ever heard…

Well…you know I’ve been stuck in the comcast jungle for the past day and a half and the reason for it is the stupidest damn thing I’ve ever heard…after having the technician here for 3 hours or so…oh, and he was a good one that worked his butt off to get everything done…none of it that was the problem but he needed to update the exterior splitters and grounds along with shortening the cable from the pole so it doesn’t sag anymore…the problem was that my modem had to be assigned to this house and changed from the Valley house…but they wouldn’t do it because…wait for it….they owed me money….I had a balance of $24.68 that they owed me and were treating it as money I owed them so there policy is that you can’t transfer a modem from one account to another if there is an outstanding balance…I guess none of the morons who I talked to could see the minus sign in front of the numbers…I could…but none of the damn 4 people I talked to today could….and, without the tech, there was no way I could of gotten through to them and got the modem changed. The tech said he had never seen that before and he had been working for comcast since 1997…and he is going to make a report up to the bigwigs describing what I went through and he thinks I may get a free month out of it…that would be cool but I just want my money back and to never have to talk to them again…geez…

Mitch is not too smart…

Well…with the revelation of Joe’s infrastructure plan that would spend another 3 trillion dollars to fix everything that the repubs have left go to rot to give tax breaks to the rich, it appears that old mitch mcconnell is not the master tactician that he has been said to be…just the other day, old mitch came out and gauranteed that not one repub would vote for the bill in the senate…I don’t think that is the smartest thing he could have done; giving away his tactics and freeing up Joe to just ignore everything that mitch has to say and taking his case directly to the American people….after all the bill is pretty popular with both dems and repubs that are not in congress and the thing they like the most is having the rich and corporations pay for it. Again, I have to ask..”who the hell are repubs representing anymore?” It sure isn’t their constituents in the polls that have been done since more than half of the repubs want this bill to go through…and who can be against fixing the crappy roads, bridges, and everythnig else? I know the repubs are against it because they have been told to be by their corporate masters but corporations don’t vote and the way the repubs are pissing them off with their voter suppression bills across the country, the dollars could be drying up just as they have started to in Georgia….and Texas is next. I don’t think the repubs have realized that times have changed and the dems have changed…we are not going to believe the stalling and lies anymore and we’ll go on without them if we have to…and it’s about damn time….

What you never want to be….
