Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done…again…so today will have to be different…slept okay and had a few dreams that were not memorable so I won’t mention them here…it was a huge sports day yesterday and Michigan won so that was cool….and today looks much the same with Man U playing at 11…need to get the bike ride in before that but I think I will need gloves to go out this morning…went out in the wind yesterday and could not feel my hands when I got back here…and I got my face windburned pretty badly…it looks better this morning with the wind only blowing about 8…it was gusting up to 35 yesterday and just made for a brutal ride…but, the guilt would not allow me to not go…and that is the same today….not much to do today…going to get out on the bike by 9 but want to watch a little of Liverpool and Everton first….then, I am going to make a ham that I got yesterday for lunch…probably some cleaning, too, but just don’t have any desire to do that….more later…

October 3rd
Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done…didn’t even ride the bike with the wind blowing so hard…I did try it twice but both times I got hit with a 30 mph gust right in the face and I knew it was going to be torture…I am going out right now when I finish this and I will get the ride in today…slept okay last night and I think I may have to change my scale and make just okay the new good…after all, that is now my new normal and I might just as well accept it….I am still a little sore but I’m hoping that the day off the bike will help the legs some…have been cramping and I’m not sure why…I am going to try to get some things done around here today but it will have to be before the Michigan game at noon and then there are races and more football on along with soccer….so that will be my day…not even any cooking today since I have leftovers but tomorrow I am going to make a small ham that I picked up this morning….more later…
October 2nd
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I won at pool so that was cool…slept okay…kinda…but there were no dreams again and that is a little annoying…I think I’m over the bug that I had since I have stopped coughing…that was one little bug…could tell I had one but didn’t feel that bad…I did get out to have a couple with G last night and that made for a long day for me….and I feel that today…along with the allergies flaring so I think it’s going to be an easy one for me…have an errand to run later this morning and with the cold and wind, I may take the day off the bike and just turn it into a veg day….just don’t want to go out when the wind is blowing 20-30 mph…especially in the cold….not much to do today…I do have to come back here for a couple since I was lazy yesterday but that is about it….more later….
October 1st
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I got a few things done so that was cool…slept okay last night and part of it was that I remembered to take some antihistamine before I went to bed…I was able to breathe and that helped….but, I woke up with my back sore on both sides and I’m not sure what that is about…feel pretty good, though, and have already gotten the grocery run in…went out really early and was back here by 7:30 for coffee and the papers…I did get out on the bike in a t-shirt yesterday and that made all of September which has never happened before…but, it is 38 degrees out there today so there will be a sweatshirt today…still have to let the temp come up to over 45 so I don’t need gloves…and the wind is supposed to howl over the next few days so I may have to take a couple of days off…it is just no fun going out when the wind is blowing 30…not much to do today….it looks like pool is going to be moved up to today since Tom has to work tomorrow but that is about it…more later…
September 30th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done..this morning was pretty darn cold and I had to wear a fleece out for the papers for the first time since April….going to wait go out on the bike today so I can set a new record of getting to the end of September without having to put on a sweatshirt….that is pretty cool…but the weather is changing quickly and it will be sweatshirt tomorrow….slept okay last night and I was good so I feel okay this morning…that little bug is still hanging on but the coughing is better so there is improvement….my back did the cracking thing again yesterday and the pain is gone again so that is something…oh, I forgot, not going to talk about the aches and pains anymore…..as you can see, I have three of these to do today to make the goal for the month so there will be much wisdom coming today…not really, one will probably be a filler….not much to do today…have some errands to run this morning and I do need to buy powerball tickets with the jackpot being almost 400 million….more later…
Here’s some irony for you…
Well…we had some exciting news from NASA yesterday where they revealed that there is liquid water on Mars during what is it’s summer…as you know, on Earth, everywhere there is liquid water there is life…from the deserts to miles underground, there is life, even in places you would never think it would be. But, this discovery of water rises to irony when you remember a little treaty that was signed by all the countries on Earth in 1968…that we would never send a probe to investigate anywhere there is liquid water present..to avoid contaminating that world with earth organisms that have been shown to be able to survive in space…they even put a bunch of microbes on the outside of the ISS and left it exposed to hard space for two years with most of them surviving the vacuum and the extremes of hot and cold that exist there. So, where does that leave us? One of the rovers that is now in Gale crater is near some of these water flows and can’t be sent to look at them…and no new probes…even the Mars 2020 one that is supposed to bring back samples can go near them….this is a conundrum that we need to address…with the possible discovery of life on another planet, how can we tie our own hands? Not sure what the answer is but the water discovery is still exciting….
September 29th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday even though I didn’t feel too well…haven’t coughed much yet today so it may be getting better…still sweating, though, so maybe not quite yet…slept just okay last night but woke up sore everywhere especially from the knees down…lots of cramping in my calves and my right big toe…and the left elbow is killing me, too…it’s hard to just pick up the coffee cup without screaming pain…crap…..didn’t get a lot done yesterday and today looks much the same…still don’t have a lot of energy but will try to get the bike ride in before the rains come….geez…I sound like an old guy just bitching about all the aches and pains….no more of that….I am down to just 250 miles to go to get to the goal and that is kind of exciting…but the bike has a squeak in it that I can’t find and that is annoying me…will try to grease the seat post this morning to see if that is where it is…not much to do today…I do need to watch some soccer this aft but that is about it…more later….
September 28th
Well…running a little late today since I fell asleep on the couch after I got up…yep, that darn bug is making me that tired and that is something I never do…it was an okay day yesterday and I got a few things done but I felt pretty crappy all day…feel that way again today so it looks like it will be a take it easy day today…after I work out and ride the bike…will probably make it a short one today and will go a little easy….and, my back is back to hurting again and that is just so disappointing after having a couple of days without pain…oh, well….it’s about 65 degrees and I am sweating through my clothes without doing anything but sitting here so I guess that’s confirmation I’m sick…not much to do today…I should run a couple of errands but I am so fatigued that I don’t think I will….may do a few things around here but don’t have the energy right now…more later…
September 27th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I made a little cash so that was cool…didn’t win the powerball so that wasn’t…slept okay last night but I now know I have a bug of some sort since I have been coughing since yesterday and I feel like I can’t breathe too well…we’ll see how bad it is in a minute when I get on the bike…I do need to finish the second cup of coffee first…I did get some errands run yesterday, too, but didn’t get anything else done so today will be a work day…I do need to clean and do some laundry today and the Lions don’t play til later so I guess it will be napcar this aft…I am a little tired today and I am sure it is the bug….the back is starting to hurt again and that is disappointing…I did get two days without pain so that is something….not much to do today….just the bike ride and cleaning I guess…more later…
September 26th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I won at pool…with putting an 8 in on the break so that was cool….and my back still feels okay and that is a huge plus…I have started to feel a little pain again but it is still so much better that I don’t know what to do…enjoy it I guess…I did make a little cash yesterday and am going to make a little today, too so there will be groceries for another week….it has been a while….it was cool to go hard on the bike and let the crazy old guy out again yesterday…and that will be the plan today, too, I do need to get out on the bike right now since Man U is playing at 10 and I want to see that one…along with Michigan at noon and races later so it will be a busy day…not much to do today….I do need to clean a little later along with the errands but it should still be a good day…need more coffee, though….and I need to get going…more later…
