Well…running late today and it is because I had to do a grocery run and get the ham soup started….needed to get the freezer cleaned out and with this gloomy day, I thought it was perfect for making soup…slept okay last night and had some weird dreams about colonizing Mars and the indigenous life there that was killing we settlers until I figured out you could kill it with bleach..but, the problem was that the organisms that survived kicked into evolution overdrive…pretty weird but a fun one….didn’t get anything done yesterday since I didn’t sleep at all Tues night and had to just recover…will try again to get the bathroom done again but who knows? Not much to do today…I do need to get the bike ride in and then put the rest of the soup together…not sure what else…but I will try something…more later….
Forgot this one from yesterday…
Well…not sure how I forgot this one but I did..so, I thought about it today before I forget completely…out on the trail yesterday, at one of my water stops, there was a yearling dear trapped in the chain link tunnel that makes up the trail in that area…and it was in such distress it was jumping and jumping into the 6 feet tall chain link like it thought it could go over it but missing the top by a couple of feet…as it slowly moved up the trail toward me…another biker and a walker tried to get it to go in the direction of an opening in the fence by making themselves look big and making some noise…I joined in and we finally got it to stop hitting the fence and run out the other end…could not believe that it was not injured after slamming into the fence at full force so many times…another weird day on the trail….,
October 15th
Well…running late today and it’s the lack of sleep that’s doing it…only got about 3 hours last night and I am sitting here in a haze trying to be at least semi lucid but I’m not sure if it’s working…had some weird dreams with Liam Neeson in them with hotels and food and other stuff but it wasn’t much fun….didn’t get a lot done yesterday, either, but I am going to try to do better today…I do need to run some errands and get the bike ride in and that can happen right away with it being 57 already…..I do need to do the bathroom today and get rid of some trash and then there is the Wings game later so that will give me something to do…more later…
Whine, whine, whine, Reince Priebus
Well…I am just laughing so hard at RNC chair, Reince Priebus…crying and whining about Democrats trying to “suppress” repub votes…and what are the dems doing to suppress these votes? Voter ID? Closing polling places? Sending “poll watchers” to intimidate minority voters? Shortening voting times? Nope, those are all repub methods that have been used in every state they control to ensure that the poor and minorities don’t vote…so what is ole Reince whining about? A dem groups plan to tell the truth about repub candidates and what effect their policies have on people…even the repubs that support them. All this to try to get people to stop voting against their own interests in electing repubs that do nothing but lie while running and then reward their masters after elected. Only in the repub world is telling the truth “voter suppression”….go ahead Reince…keep whining…geez…
Mitch McConnell is still evil…
Well….after reading the reports on the only Senate debate in Kentucky, all I can say is that Mitch McConnell is still evil….after a doddering performance where he couldn’t articulate what he has done for the people of Kentucky, ole Mitch went back to that old attack where he is either lying or doesn’t understand how Obamacare works when he said that he will repeal Obamacare but he will let Kentucky’s sign up website, Kynect, stay. Wow, that’s big of you Mitch…you’ll throw over 500,000 Kentuckians off the insurance they have for the first time in their lives but you’ll let them keep a non functioning website that is worthless without the federal portion of the law. What a great guy! And it just shows you what the repubs have become…the party of can’t…can’t fix our crumbling infrastructure…can’t keep our citizens healthy….can’t do anything but give more and more to the rich….that, to me, is the definition of evil…and ole Mitch fits the description…geez..,.
October 14th
Well…it was a okay day yesterday…for a Monday…but I didn’t get much done…well…ran a few errands and got a backup battery for the phone and a new set of earbuds but that was about it…and, I’m almost caught up here so maybe that was something? Slept okay and had dreams about cleaning this place but the more I cleaned, the worse it got and I am not sure what that was about….going to have to go without sleep aids tonight since they are making me so sluggish in the morning it’s hard to get going….I did do laundry, too, I just remembered so I got some stuff done…..not much to do today….it looks like it may rain so the bike ride will have to be between the raindrops today…and the bathroom needs to be done….just need to accomplish one thing today….more later…
Czar,czar, czar…
Well…if you watched any of the weekend news shows (I didn’t…just can’t make myself do that anymore)….you saw the predictable cast of repubs going on and on that Obama should appoint an “Ebola czar” to coordinate the response to the two cases in the US…never mind that just a couple of months ago the repubs were shouting about impeaching Obama for appointing just such people…they think it’s an impeachable offense now that he hasn’t….my head spins at the stupidity of the people like John McCain and the rest of the repubs when they have gotten just what they wanted…a smaller government that doesn’t have the capability to “interfere” with people’s lives…and doesn’t have the capability to save them either. But, the funniest or saddest part of this whole charade is that Obama has tried to appoint just this person that the repubs are calling for…he’s called the Surgeon General and the repubs in the senate have blocked his appointment since he thinks that guns do kill people at times….yep, that is what the repub party is today…stupidity and more stupidity…and all of us suffer for it…geez…
Ebola and the republicans…
Well…now that there have been a few cases of Ebola here in the US, the repubs are screaming their heads off the government should be doing more to combat it and it is all Obama’s fault, etc. etc…..but, the real problem has been revealed by the head of the NIH in an interview this week. The NIH has been working on a vaccine for years now, and for other treatments for people who have already contacted the disease but, since the repubs don’t think government can or should do anything, they cut the budget for the NIH and other health programs to give tax cuts to the rich and corporations, saying that the private sector is the better place for this kind of research to happen. But, what these idiots don’t understand is that the private sector won’t do anything that doesn’t make them huge profits…but, since Ebola is not a disease that will affect millions, and it mostly happens in poor African countries, there is no profit so there is no research. So, if there is a huge outbreak here in the US, go and thank a repub…their budget cuts have put the vaccine more than two years out and that means they are responsible for any deaths that happen…this is the real world face of repub austerity and tax cuts…what a bunch of asses…geez…
October 13th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get anything done and I feel guilty about that….I did get out to see the twins for a few minutes in the aft and that was cool…having a heck of a time getting going this morning and I think it’s the lack of calories yesterday that is doing it…not the cocktails….slept crappy again…and again…and it is getting boring….not sure what to do about it….I am going to get some things done today…at least a de-spidering of the bathroom and a cleaning needs to get done…and I have a few errands to run this morning….getting a battery backup for the phone and a new set of earbuds…shouldn’t be more than ten bucks for the pair so that is cool….more later…
A little more detail….
Well…getting behind for the month so I think I’ll do one with a little more detail on the day yesterday and the nice drive with the Miata folks. It started out cold…when I left here there was frost on the top but I put it down anyway…but, it was cold and I think I almost lost my right ear…had a stocking hat with me but, like an idiot, I wanted to wear my MOMM hat instead…looked better but brrrrr. It was a long drive once we met up in Hastings with the loops going over to yankee springs and down past the Gilmore car museum…over 80 miles altogether not counting the 30 miles down and back from Hastings…so close to 140 miles for the day…it was cool to see the 11 car snake going around the corners and one of the cool things is we had a car from the first year of production and a brand new one in the group with at least one from each iteration of A, B, or C….and most of us had the tops down the entire way which was cool…got lots of thumbs ups from people along the route…and, after I got back here, I got to hang out with T for a while and I made a little cash so that just capped off a pretty good day….
