Well…thought I’d come back and do this one up right but the outrage I felt last night has mostly dissipated…but not completely…I think the theme was something like this…over the past few decades, going all the way back to Nixon, the repubs have repeatedly shown their disdain for the law and have felt they only have to follow the ones they agree with…Nixon felt that he was above the law (I think his quote was “if the president does it, it’s not against the law”) during Watergate and this theme tracked through the signing statements of ole GW that asserted that he would only enforce laws that he agreed with. Now, we have the right rolling out the big guns to attack the women who have come forward to reveal ole Herm’s reprehensible behavior toward women. I find it funny that the “law and order” party abandons the law as soon as someone asks them to follow it….and that the repub controlled congress spent millions and millions of dollars investigating Clinton for exactly the same sort of allegations….can the right get any more hypocritical?

If you liked Scott Walker…you’ll love Herman Cain…
Well….it’s a good thing that, finally, the media is starting to catch up with the story of how connected to the Koch brothers Herman Cain is…and if you like what Scott Walker did in Wisconsin (the first governor from Kochland) you will just love what ole Herman has in store for all of us. Isn’t it enough that almost all of his campaign staff has worked for the Koch brothers or one of their front companies over the years and whose strings are still being pulled by the Koch’s? Or should we instead just look at his performance on “Meet the Press” this past Sunday? This man is an idiot, another repub who thinks that just repeating things makes them true, and who truly believes that just because something is simple (like his 999 tax plan) it has to be correct. I marveled when he said that the new 9% national sales tax couldn’t be added to the state sales taxes we already have….so now the repubs don’t believe in math? We already have enough stupidity in Washington, let’s not add to it…geez…
A couple of things….and it’s politics…..
Well….Where the heck do the repubs get the people that are running for president on their side? The party of the constitution (as they say it…it’s not true but they say it) is running at lest one person that does not even know what the first amendment is, let alone that it prohibits government interference in religion. But, this past week, we heard Herman Cain…one of the tea party darlings, come out and propose that cities have the power to deny Muslims from building mosques since they are not really religious structures but their purpose is to promote sharia law. And the Christian churches aren’t there to promote biblical law? Just another instance where these folks will distort or ignore the constitution unless it can be used for political gain…don’t they ever get ashamed of this hypocrisy? Oh, obviously not…geez…
The second thing I wanted to talk about is this whole debt ceiling nonsense, again, and the latest proposal from the repubs to give Obama the power to raise it on his own when necessary…and these folks thinks this is a big coup that they will be able to use to hurt Obama in 2012? Man, I can come up with about a dozen attack ads right off the top of my head to go after the repubs with…and if I were Obama, I would say bring it on and let’s get the country’s business done….how dense are these repubs? Playing to their 20 percent tax cutting, tea party base? Good luck with that strategy….
