Down goes Bobby…

Well…no politics again today but there have been lots of laughable stuff going on with the right twisting themselves into knots trying to not comply with the marriage equality rulings from the supreme court….but, ole Bobby Jindal got slapped down by the courts today telling his state that they have to issue licenses…once that happened, ole Bobby, who has been blustering all week that he would never let the marriages happen, just disappeared…funny for someone who is running for president…but, really, is this guy so delusional that he believes he can get the repub nomination? Never, ever, going to happen…his approval ratings in his own state are down in the 20′s and that is never going to get you elected to anything….okay, I did have a political one in me today…yay!

Now they care about kids?

Well…was just reading an article about the repub governor of Idaho and their futile efforts to overturn the court decision that said that the 14th amendment protects gay people and allows them to get married…and their primary argument (that they are still making despite numerous studies debunking their claims) is that children fare better when they are raised in heterosexual families. Since when have the repubs given a damn about kids? Not when they cut children’s health programs….not when they cut back on food stamps that help feed them…not when they oppose raising the minimum wage that would help their parents send them to school with a good breakfast….and not when they oppose everything that would give workers a voice and higher pay that would take the economic uncertainty away that causes so much stress in both parents and kids….this is just religious nonsense cloaked in fake caring for children that they have used for years to deny gays their rights…if they cared so damn much, they would have used the half million dollars they have spent on these suits to fund a school lunch program or health care for kids…but they don’t…geez…

One more for today…

Well…have been trying to instill some discipline in myself over the past few days so I am going to try to keep up by doing at least one more of these today…one funny thing I wanted to comment on was some right wing tea party idiot out in Utah who has said he will be on a hunger strike until they rescind the court rulings that have made marriage equality the law of the land. The only thing I have to say is good luck with that…I wonder if we could encourage all the tea partiers to do the same thing all across the country…we could make them martyrs to their cause…and get rid of them at the same time…after all, these folks have more in common with the Taliban than the rest of the US. And, this is how stupid this idiot is…he wants to use the completely unconstitutional method of nullification where states don’t have to follow any federal laws they don’t like…even though this nonsense is forbidden by the very constitution they say they revere and want followed to the letter. I just shake my head when these idiots pop their heads up and point out their ignorance and stupidity….geez…

Utah falls…

Well…as you can see, I am running behind for the month and I am trying not to do any fillers just to hit the numbers…but, I do have a shorty about something that happened in Utah this afternoon…today, a federal district court judge ruled that the ban on marriage equality is unconstitutional even though it is part of Utah’s constitution…the cool thing was that he based his ruling on the US constitution and the equal protection clause…this, in itself, is new for the court rulings up to this date….all of them until now have been state court rulings like the one in NM earlier in the week…so, this means that the rest of the states, like Michigan, who have enshrined discrimination into their constitutions, are now on notice that this crap will not last since the US constitution supersedes state ones….
