Well…this is what happens when you put dems in control of the entire state of Michigan for the first time in decades…just yesterday the House voted to expand the Elliot-Larsen Civil Rights Act to cover sexual orientation and gender identity…also Wednesday, the house labor committee advanced bills to repeal the “right to work” that the repubs passed to attack unions and working people in this state…and Tuesday, Governor Whitmer signed a bill that extended the Earned Income Tax Credit which will put more money in the hands of the working poor…another program that the repubs slashed when they controlled the state…and now the dems are moving onto the popular gun control measures like background checks, red flag laws, and a safe storage law that ensures that people will have to keep their guns locked up when not in use. None of this would have happened if the repubs conrolled any part of the government here…and it all goes back the voters taking the drawing of districts out of the hands of politicians so the repubs couldn’t gerrymander the state and cheat in elections…there is real progress going on here in Michigan…and we all have the dems to thank for it….

The dems did this…
Well…just read an interesting article about the progress being made here in Michigan and one thing that you need to know is the dems did this…and it all started with the constitutional amendment that took redistricting out of the hands of the repubs resulting in fair maps being drawn…and that I will thank the people of Michigan for…or the 60% + that voted for the amendment…and that lead to the dems winning complete control of the state for the first time since the 1980′s. The people came through again last fall when they voted to enshrine reproductive rights and voting rights into the constitution…and now with the new majorities in place, we are going to see LGBT rights protected by law, repeal of the 1931 law outlawing abortions that the repubs were going to use to take women’s rights away…get rid of the anti union right to work laws that have depressed wages across the state…and expand the earned income tax credit to help low income families…any of this sound like anything the repubs would do? Nope…and under governor Whitmer, Michigan is number one on employment, personal income, home prices, mortgage delinquency, and the stock performance of publicly traded Michigan based companies…oh, and we were number one in adding energy related jobs and are set up to “dominate” the electric vehicle battery market…did you notice one thing? Not a damn tax cut for the rich or corporations in that mix…as always, economies always do better when the dems are in charge…and I hope it stays that way…geez…
Biden has done nothing to help people?
Well…I guess Americans are just stupid or ignorant or both…according to a poll that came out in the past few days, over 50% of Americans believe that Joe Biden has done nothing to help their lives get better…cripes, do these 50% have amnesia? Do they not remember the 1400 dollar check they got earlier in the year? I wonder if many of these folks have kids? Do they not recognize the 300 dollar monthly credit they get for each kid? Or how about getting vaccines into the arms of almost 200 million Americans? Or the billions of dollars to fix up schools and help local school districts deal with the pandemic? Or the expansion of the SNAP program that made many more people eligible for food aid? I could go on and on about all of the things this administration has done to make life better but I wonder why no one else knows these things? There are many other things that are in the pipeline that will continue to make life better for working people and we retirees…how about expansion of Medicare to cover dental, vision, and hearing care? I thing the dems have a messaging problem and need to get over it…they need to make sure that people know what they are doing for them and be proud of it….they are making this country better for the little guy and that is a good thing…geez…
It’s so nice to have trump gone…
Well…does anyone else hear it? The wonderful silence of a twitterless idiot boy? I guess some his former aides are saying that trump is stewing now that Fauci is telling the truth about trying to be forced to lie for him….and you can see it in Fauci’s face that he relaxed with Biden in the WH and the re-emergence of an emphasis on science again…and trump is still really pissed that he can’t tweet to “set the record straight” when Biden told the world that there was no vaccine distribution plan that was left behind by trump’s cronies….you know what else is nice? Having competent experts being appointed to run the government instead of incompetent lackeys…oh, and no lies from the WH briefing room…just information that the country needs to know so everyone knows what is going on. I don’t cringe anymore when I get up and look at the news in the morning, either…since I know Joe is a decent man who would never do any of the crap that trump did daily…and I am even a little excited about the progress that Joe has made in just 6 days…the country looks and feels like a better place already and will continue to get better every day with Joe in charge…and now I’m a homeowner and it looks like I’ll make the deadlines for moving…all in all things are looking up…one more move…
