Well…damn, when I was out at the water stop on the boardwalk, there were fire engines, police cars, an ambulance, and a boat running up and down the beach so that can only mean one thing, another drowning out at my beach…that is the third one this year and I wonder whey anyone would be in the water when it was only 45 degrees air temp…the wind was blowing hard again today so I wonder if someone fell off the pier again? Whatever it was, it’s still sad seeing the rescue boat searching and searching out there…I did get three rides in today but only one outdoors since I was cold and just out of synch…and it took me a long hot shower to warm up some but still needed to put the heating pad on to get back to normal…I did make potato soup this afternoon to use up the whole milk I bought last week for the scalloped potatoes and it came out great…made too much so I’ll be eating that for two meals a day until late in the week…okay, going to read a bit before the Lions play…

Outlawing vaccines?
Well…if you didn’t already know of the danger that idiot boy and his cronies are to you even if you are a religious white person, this should do it…over this weekend the latest out of the idiot’s campaign is that if he’s elected, they will outlaw all vaccines in this country…have you ever heard of a more stupid thing coming out of anyone’s mouth? I’m of the age when polio was still a scourge across the world and the only reason it isn’t is the vaccines that were developed in the 50′s…before that thousands of people died every year from polio…and thousands more were paralyzed and in iron lungs since they could no longer breathe for themselves…so now the morons on the right want that back due to the propaganda from the right wing media that has demonized scientific knowledge…mostly in response to the covid vaccine that has saved millions of lives…and the thing is that there have been almost twice as many deaths in red states who continue to refuse the vaccine when it has been shown to prevent long covid…there is even a county in Idaho that has already outlawed the health department there of giving vaccines of any sort…so kids there can get measles, mumps, rubella, and polio…along with whooping cough that is on the rise across the US in guess where? Yep, red states…this should be outlawed as child abuse and people enacting these dangerous laws should be locked up….geez…

Well…damn, this is going to be a weird day with dealing with the time change and trying to get started that isn’t working right now…I should be on the bike but I just poured the first cup of coffee and I won’t go downstairs until it starts to work…I did get 41 miles in yesterday and now only have 1,100 miles to go and two months to do it…so I think I’m in good shape to make the goal….didn’t get much done yesterday and I really do need to clean today but Man U plays at 10 so that means a ride indoors before that…or maybe two since the time change gives me an extra hour…I am so tired of having to get going all the time but I guess it’s what is keeping me from feeling even older than I do…I forgot to plug the laptop in overnight and it is so cool that it still had over 50% of charge after a whole day…and it has gained to over 70% in about 10 minutes…don’t have any leftovers to eat today so I’ll have to cook something and it may be the bean burritos I’ve been thinking about for more than a week now to use up the tomatoes that are going to go bad soon…okay, this is going to be a jumbled day that I need to get started right now…but more coffee first and then downstairs in 14 minutes…more later…
How many more women need to die?
Well…all of us who believe in women’s rights knew this was going to happen…that the restrictive abortion laws in red states were going to kill women who are having emergencies with their pregnancies…and just this week another woman died because the hospital in Texas said she had to wait until she was closer to death before they could do the d&c that would have saved her life…and she joins the dozens of others who have died as a direct result of these repub laws and they don’t care one bit the lifesaving care was refused that would have saved every one of these women…how big of an asshole do you have to be to kill women just because of your religious delusions? Do you need any other reason to vote blue in this election? We need to throw every damn one of these morons out who think of women as less important then their stupid religion…and we still have three days to vote…so get out there if you haven’t voted yet…you will be saving women’s lives…geez..
November 2nd
Well…man, it’s only 30 degrees out here right now so that is going to make me really late getting outdoors for a ride today…it looks like it will be after noon and that kind of screws up my schedule for the day…and I wonder why I even have a schedule? Yeah, I know…discipline…and that has me getting on the indoor bike here in 26 minutes for the first of two rides this morning….slept okay last night and I feel okay this morning if a little worn out…as I always do and that is getting old as I am…getting old? Crap…I am old and feeling it…okay, that’s enough of that…there is a Saturday ahead of me and even though the weekend doesn’t mean anything anymore, it’s still a day to enjoy…don’t really need to cook today but I want to…going to make some potato soup later since I have some whole milk to use up before it spoils and I need to cut up some more veggies to replace the pretzels that were killing me…I do have two more chicken leg quarters to either cook or freeze and I’m not sure which right now…not much to do today…just need to drag my butt downstairs and get the day started in 15 minutes and then I’ll let the day flow as it will…yeah, I’m still planning as I always do but the bathroom is clean so that is not hanging over me and that’s not a bad way to start the day…more later…
An easier day…
Well…the easy day I had planned for yesterday but didn’t allow happened today with only two indoor rides and then cleaning and a little yard work…started out with getting the two rides in downstairs by 11 am but it was a struggle to get going for some reason…didn’t even get out of bed til 6:30 or so and if I could figure out how that happened, I’d do it every day…after lunch, I went out to put the last of the winter food on the lawn to take advantage of the rain that is coming in Sunday…the leaves are still on the trees and I only have til the end of the month to put them out so I’ sure some of them are going to just get mulched up and left on the lawn…after that, I put a load of laundry in for the second time this week and that is unusual, too…normally, I do one load a week and I’m not sure how that many clothes got used…after that, I did a full cleaning on the bathroom and finished up my day with the weight work around 3 or so…I did get to read and finished up another one of those I got at the book sale so I’ll have to start a new one tomorrow…got some of the bike parts today but I’m still waiting for the rear cassette…bike is still working fine and as of today I only have 1,155 miles left to go and two months to do it…and I can sure do 600 miles a month..after all, I did over 800 in October…time for tv…

Well…with ole elon propping up trump to the tune of 50 million dollars and counting, someone went into his background and found that he broke the law and lied about it when he was applying for citizenship here…when he came here from South Africa, he got into the country on a student visa…but the problem with that is he never signed up for any courses and then got a job here on that student visa which is illegal…and when he was applying for citizenship he lied about how he got into the country in the first place…and many, many times before, naturalized citizens have had their status revoked and were deported for lying when applying for citizenship…at the very least, the revelation that he has had regular phone calls with putin should cause his security clearance to be revoked and then SpaceX should be confiscated, especially since it was learned last week that he has been helping the Russian army attack Ukraine by providing internet access to them through his Starlink satellites…this is traitorous, helping an enemy of the US is the very definition of treason and he should be locked up for that…I’ve had enough of trump loving billionaire immigrants like elon, murdoch, and thiel who come here promising to live by the constitution and then do their best to subvert it at every turn..geez…
November 1st
Well…damn, another month starts and I’m so darn worn out that I just want to go back to bed but I won’t…just poured the first cup of coffee and it’s already 7:30 so this is going to be a day of struggle to get going…it’s not going to get to 50 out there so it looks like a short day on the bike…I am so tired of having a schedule every damn day…so I wonder if I should get the thermasuit out for the first time and get a cold outdoor ride in today? I’ll have to think about that…I really do need to put the last food on the lawn today since we have lots of rain coming in the next few days…might get up to two inches starting Sunday so I guess I could wait til tomorrow…didn’t get anything done yesterday but cook so I’ll have to get off my butt today and clean the bathroom…and I only have 9 minutes before I have to get on the bike downstairs and I sure don’t want to…but I will…going to have leftover chicken and scalloped potatoes for one meal today but I’m not sure what the second one will be…maybe the bean burritos I’ve been thinking about…who knows? Well…I had every intention of taking it easy today and only doing 2 rides downstairs for 16 miles and then making scalloped potatoes and chicken for lunch…the potatoes came out only okay with something missing from them…I think it’s too much flour for the roux so next time I’ll cut that back on that…after lunch the wind came down and the rain stopped so I suited up for a ride outdoors that wasn’t bad so when I got back here, I got right back on the bike for number two and about a mile out a squall came through with high winds and stopped me dead as it started to pour and that kept up for a couple of miles until the wind slowed and the rain stopped…and then the ride was okay again…so that was a 41 mile day that started out as an easy one…and this is the 100th post here this month…and that is a lot…no more later…

Well…with men on the right spewing that they have the right to tell their wives/significant others how to vote and making sure their wives understand the threat that comes with them “betraying and undermining” their men, of course the Harris campaign has a new ad out there targeting this misogynist bullshit…giving women the permission structure to vote for Kamala instead of the orange ogre…some of these assholes are even equating voting different from their husbands as “cheating” on them…and that comment came from Jesse Watters from fox news who cheated on his first wife with his current wife…and a former trump WH advisor has gone farther saying that women should have their right to vote “revoked” if they are going to vote against their husbands…this is pure christian right wing bullshit that says that women should “submit” to their husbands in every decision made in a family…and it is one reason that women are going for Harris by the largest margin in history…and no matter how much they deny it, the idiot trump’s team doesn’t understand that the removal of women’s rights by the ending of Roe is still one of the most important reasons to vote dem in this election since the dems are the only party that will protect women’s rights from the kind of attacks that have come from everyone on the right…geez…
