Well…not out of bed til 5:30 this morning and I think that’s because I just didn’t get up until I saw the light starting to come through my bedroom window…tossed and turned a bunch but didn’t give up and I’m rewarded by feeling okay this morning…it looks calm out there today and it’s going to be sunny and with it already 60, the rides should be good today and I’ll be out before 7…made the first whole bean coffee in a while today and even though I can’t taste much, I can tell the difference and it tastes good…and I’ll keep looking for affordable stuff on amazon and try to buy more…I have been enjoying the world cup and the USA plays Australia this afternoon and I’m hoping it’s a good match…if we win, it’s on to the knockout round and we win the group…not sure if we’ve ever done that before…made chicken stir fry yesterday that will last me til next week so that pushes the pork shoulder back til Monday or so and I can live with that…I am going to start on the windows today and at least get the ones in the kitchen done along with scrubbing the blinds in there…and I may as well get the rest of the cleaning done, too, so that will be a couple of hours of work and one thing off my list…more later…

Another trump failure…
Well…how many more failures does idiot boy have to have before the entire country rejects his ass? The latest from this “great businessman” was the repainting of the reflecting pool in DC to get rid of the algae that was floating on it…this was supposed to be a 1.2 million dollar job that he gave to one of his cronies and the cost ballooned to over 12 million dollars…yeah, this was just another way for idiot boy to steal money for his cronies that I’m sure he got a kickback from…and here’s the kicker…3 days after the pool was refilled the paint this incompetent used is now flaking off in square foot sized chunks…and almost the entire surface is covered in algae…10 times as bad as it was before this grift…as always, everything trump touches turns to shit…and we pay for it…geez…
Bailed on the rides today…
Well…damn, I feel like a slug today after bailing on the 2nd ride this morning…got the first one done in the cold at 53 with a north wind of 25mph…a struggle but I gutted through it…and I filled my coffee cup and got back on the bike and got out about half way and it started to rain and that was the last straw…I could take the cold and the wind but I just couldn’t get wet…I still did some but it wasn’t running off me like it has in the past…reminded me I used to be tougher when I was younger…I remember being out in November at 37 degrees and it started raining so hard that I could only see about 20 feet in front of me and, by the time I got home after about 4 miles, I had to pour the rain out of my shoes I was so wet…giving up won’t happen again…I’ll put my raingear on and go anyway just to prove to myself I can still take it…so it’s been an easy day today but I did run out to aldis to get the veggies I need for the pork shoulder I’m making this weekend…made chicken stir fry today that will last 5 days or so and I baked a couple of breasts so I can have a 2nd meal of sandwiches I can eat..now it’s time to read a bit…
Biggest surrender in US history..
Well…as the details of the idiot trump’s “deal” with Iran come out, it is clear that it is the biggest surrender in US history…and that’s what happens when you have a moron who knows nothing in charge of negotiating…I talked about this the other day and said just what everyone is saying today…that this is a defeat of the US plain and simple…Iran got everything they wanted and more and the only thing idiot boy got was to stop talking about Iran so he could lie and say it was a success…I mean, bomb the heck out of Iran and then give them 300 billion dollars to rebuild all the damage? But this really isn’t a defeat of the US, it is a defeat of idiot boy personally…and it was done by the Iranians using trained psychologists to look at trump’s damaged personality and figure out ways to flatter and manipulate him to get what they wanted…and now the Iranians are laughing all the way to the bank…this is one reason why idiot boy is such a failure at everything he does…he does have a damaged personality to actually sign this piece of crap deal…and this should but at the top of the impeachments he is going to face next year along with the 30 or 40 other offenses he should be impeached for…geez…
Losing their insurance…
Well…have been reading a lot about people in this country who have had to cancel their health insurance through the ACA since the repubs cut premium subsidies…with the subsidies, many families were able to get a good healthcare plan for under 100 bucks a month…but after the repubs cut them, 500 bucks a month is a low price for the same plan and there is no way most people can afford that…after all, surveys have found that almost 60% of Americans have less than 60 bucks in savings so these increases can’t be absorbed…I feel bad for these people and have been fortunate to have health insurance for most of my life other than the 12 years or so that I was unemployed and looking for work as an overqualified old person that no one would hire…so getting to the age I qualified for Medicare was such a relief and it still is to this day when the most out of pocket I would be for a year is under 5,000 bucks…and I have been frugal my entire life so SS supports me quite well…but, what about the people who are working their asses off and can’t afford health insurance? The repubs say “tough shit” and tell them to get a 2nd or 3rd job to pay for health insurance…and if you think there is no difference between the political parties, just look who passed the ACA in the first place…not one damn repub cared enough about the American people to vote for it but the dems passed it and 25 million people had heath insurance until the repubs took it away…Medicare for all…geez…
June 18th
Well…darn, for some reason I’m just worn out today and I have too much to do for that…haven’t had coffee yet so I hope it will help once I pour a couple of cups down…at least my right hip doesn’t hurt today and that is the normal pattern after I hurt it…we did get a nice little storm while I went to bed last night and if my lawn doesn’t recover after all the rain the past few days I think it will never recover…it’s better than the dried out husk it was but still not my quality of lawn…oh, well…need to make a run out to aldis this morning since I forgot everything I need to make the pork shoulder this weekend…potatoes, celery, and carrots and I wonder how the heck I didn’t remember and put them on the list…after all, I need the celery and carrots for the stir fry I’m making today…didn’t get much done yesterday but need to get off my butt and accomplish something today…cleaning the kitchen will wait until I cook the next day or so since it makes no sense to to clean and then just get it dirty again…I am going to hard boil some eggs so I have a 2nd meal available for the next couple of days and then the pork shoulder will do that job…it looks like we’ll never get beach weather this year with the next 10 days of highs in the low 70’s and we should be in the 80’s by now and that sucks…more later…
The grocery run made me grin..
Well…the grocery run today started out pretty normal until I got to the e-way…stopped there at the light with no one in front of me and when I took off, it was an easy 1-2 and 2-3 shift but once in 3rd, I did a “Italian tuneup” of the car with running it up to 7,200 rpms when the rev limiter came in and said “stop idiot” and I actually laughed out loud…then I got to aldis and decided to buy a dozen eggs since they were only 1.44 and I have been enjoying egg salad sandwiches lately…when I opened the container to check for broken eggs, there was a brown egg in it and I laughed out loud…the guy stocking the shelves looked at me like I was crazy and I thought “yes I am”…then I went to Meijers for the rest of the groceries and to see if I could get a small pork shoulder for 1.79 a pound…and I found one that was only about 6 pounds and was boneless when every other one I’ve bought had a pound of bone in it…so that was only a little over 8 bucks instead of 17 like the rest of them…and then when I was checking out, “Peg” by Steely Dan came on the speakers and I laughed again…I had the top down on the car and it was so much fun since it has been working so well lately…so the morning was good with getting two rides in along with all of the cool stuff on the grocery run…nice to have fun…
Let’s do something different…
Well…I’m sure you’re getting as tired of reading about the idiot trump as I am writing about him so let’s try something different…maybe some short bites…solar power exceeded coal power for the first time last week and if you add in wind, renewable electricity was almost double than dirty coal…and no matter how hard he tries to kill renewables, they are here to stay…and yes solar doesn’t work at night but batteries and wind power do…and the cost of solar or wind installations are one half of what a new coal or gas fired plant is…this is going to happen…why does anyone still think ole elon is anything but a murderer? His cuts through doge that eliminated USAID (the program that helped people who didn’t have the resources to help themselves) has cost at least a million lives…how the hell can he live with himself when he is one of the largest mass murderers in the history of the world…I don’t understand why the dems aren’t telling all of the criminals in the justice department that they are going to pay for illegally targeting trump’s enemies? When we take over the government this fall, this is going to be the focus and these assholes are going to end up in jail and/or disbarred…and let’s remember we should be telling idiot boy that removing his name from the Kennedy center is just the start…all of the bullshit building and slathering his name on everything can and will be reversed including tearing down his stupid ballroom and arch…okay, is that enough for this afternoon? For now anyway…
June 17th
Well…up a little earlier than I have been lately and I think it’s from going commando with no sleep aids at all…and that is the new goal…to try to figure out how to sleep with just me trying it…a new goal…yay! Yeah, that’s sarcasm…sure as hell don’t need any more goals at my age…had an okay day yesterday but really did need to take it easy after injuring my right hip working on the yard…but that happens every time I do that so no big deal…and it’s better today and should be healed by tomorrow…we had a nice little rain yesterday but I’m still waiting for a good storm to come through…and it’s supposed to rain about 11 so I’ll be able to get the 2nd ride in after the grocery run this morning…I do have groceries to get this morning and am still going to continue to take stuff out of the freezer..might even get a pork shoulder today with Meijers having it on sale for 1.79 a pound and that is cheaper than any other protein right now…but only if they have a small one…sure don’t need a 12 pounder for just me…I do need to get started on the windows this week and I think I’ll start with the kitchen since I look through those windows the most…more later…
Weird sunscreen effects…
Well…after getting my skin cancer removed a few months back, my dermatologist recommended that I use 100 sunscreen whenever I’m outdoors…so I have and there has been a weird effect from it…haven’t gotten any color at all from the sun except for the freckles I inherited from my mother…all over my arms and legs freckles have been popping out to the point that I have them in places I’ve never had them before…I mean my arms are coated with them and my legs are catching up to that…and I wonder if they were just hidden from my skin actually getting tanned that is not happening now? All I know is it’s weird sitting here with my mother’s skin on me…full of freckles and white…weird…
