Well…man, I feel worn out today….I wonder if I need to adjust my effort level with being as old as I am? Up at 5:40 this morning and that follows the 4 am wake up yesterday and I’m sure that has something to do with how I feel…and not eating enough is part of it too, I mean 2 bowls of soup a day is about 800 calories and that has been 5 days now…but I am losing weight so I guess that’s something…but today ends that and I need to figure out the meals for the next few days…I know bean burritos are going to be part of it and there will be some pasta in there….and I did buy a head of lettuce so maybe some salads? Had a busy day yesterday but I hope today will be a little more relaxed…only going to do the rides and weight work and maybe clean the bathroom but don’t want to think about that right now…the wind is going to pick up this morning to almost 20 mph and that will make the outdoor ride a little tough…have 700 miles in for the year and when I do the math, there is no way to get to 7K for the year unless all I do is ride…and I wonder what is the point? Not much to do today…have 45 minutes before I need to get on the bike but first another cup of coffee…more later…

Well…after getting out of bed at around 5 this morning, I had much more energy than I should have so I got right at it and got on the bike around 6:30 after I had some coffee and got the first ride in then straight on to the grocery run and then back here by 9:07…then got the second ride in, had lunch, and then outdoors for the ride…back here and started the laundry and gave myself a hair cut, and just finished my workout at 4:30…so it’s been another busy day and I’m ready to be done but I had to come here and do another one of these to keep up the three a days I’ve trying to do…getting up so early has just worn me out and I need some rest…

Well….yeah, that last post wasn’t true…I did get out on the bike outdoors yesterday…the temp got up to 36 so I thought I’d take a short ride sine there was no wind and with the goal for the year, I really have to ride…can’t take any time off or there is no way I’ll get there…so, another 29 mile day and I’ve been up since 5:04 and can start another on here in a half hour or so…need to get a ride in before the grocery run so I can get two in before lunch…didn’t get a lot done yesterday but i do want to clean the bathroom today since I have dust in the shower again…and i still can’t figure that out…I know this is a dusty house but damn, you would think that the water would keep the shower clean…oh, well…still don’t have to cook today with leftovers still in the fridge but I will need to cook Friday and that is going to be pasta and bean burritos but I don’t think the green pepper I bought last week will be usable…darn…ha, we are supposed to get thunderstorms tomorrow night and temps over 50 before it crashes into the 30’s Sat…and that will keep me off the outdoor bike for 10 days or so…but there is no snow in the forecast as we grind our way to March…not much to do today…just the grocery run and bike rides…cleaning is still staring me in the face so I’ll try to do some of that, too….more later…

Well…darn, the temp is still only 35 degrees at 2:30 in the afternoon so there won’t be an outdoor ride today…the last time I went out at that temp with no sun I froze my hands and they took almost a half day so I could feel them again…so, only 16 miles today along with the weight work that I just finished…I really should have cleaned the bathroom today but there is going to be rain later in the week so I’ll do that Thurs…need to get the grocery list done today so I can do the run tomorrow but it doesn’t have much on it since I still have lots of freezer food to eat along with pasta once I finish up the masala and potato soup leftovers…I can actually move my right big toe today so it appears the water treatment is working…it’s even back to normal color from the throbbing red it was last week…

Well…darn, I’m out of steam already and have only been out of bed for a half hour…woke up a little before 6 and really tried to go back to sleep with no luck…everything hurts from the neck down to my waist and I know it’s from riding the outdoor bike…that uses different muscles from indoors and even my hands hurt….my right foot seems to be more flexible today and that’s welcome…damn, it’s a pain getting old….I realized yesterday that I have been lucky enough to take part in two housing price booms in my life…bought my first house for 11K and sold it three years later for 36K and bought this house for 90K and it’s now worth at least 150K and that is in three years too…weird…I’ve been stacking up the busy days here since the start of the year and I wonder when I can have an easy one? Not today but maybe soon…it would be luxurious to just do what I want but I’ve got 20 minutes to get on the bike so I can get both rides in before lunch…not much to do today…just the routine of bike rides but I do need to clean the kitchen and plan some meals for later in the week…the weather is going to hell next week with high temps in the 20’s…ick…more later…

Well…we’ve had two days in a row of sun here and i I am just amazed since we didn’t have any in January…my gout is pretty much gone today with drinking gallons of water since the pain started last week…and the toe is almost back to normal color, too, and that was the most concerning part along with the swelling…I did get another outdoor ride in today and I wasn’t cold at all so that was cool…so, it’s a little after three and I have everything done I needed to…had 1,900 bucks go out today with my house insurance, water bill, house taxes, and credit card payment…ow…oh, well…I am liking this small town more and more each time after running errands…to pay my bills and go to the post office took about 10 minutes today and in GR that would have been an hour trip…and getting out to the beach to take a look at the ice and sit on the bench in the sun with my water was just so relaxing…I sure hope it stays like this but I know this is Michigan and it is still February so we have more snow coming before we get into March…but not for the next week or so when the highs are going back down to the low 30’s…brrr…

Well…up a little before six this morning but I was in bed at 10 so that makes for a solid 8 hours of sleep…but I feel like I didn’t sleep at all I’m so worn out…but I haven’t had any coffee yet so that may recede after I do…I can’t believe how much riding outside triggers a new set of pains I didn’t have before…my hands, back, and neck hurt this morning and I am pretty darn stiff from getting 28 miles in on the bike the last four days…have some errands to run this morning after the inside rides but then all my bills will be paid until summer…but it hurts to have 1,600 bucks go out…have to start getting ready to drive to Ohio for the total eclipse of the sun that is happening on the 4th of April…will probably be my last chance to see one before I die and I need to do it…it looks like I’ll have to go as far east as Cleveland and just park in a parking lot…lots of driving for 3 minutes but everyone should experience it once in their lifetimes…I do need to order some eclipse glasses for it…not much to do today…need to get on the bike here in a half hour so I can get both rides in before 9…it’s a leftover day for the next 4 days but I do need to plan for after that…really have a taste for pasta and garlic bread so that will be later in the week….more later…

Well…yeah, I know I have been inconsistent in getting political ones out the past few weeks but that changes tomorrow…need to have some discipline that has been applied elsewhere returned to writing…it was another busy day today with getting on the bike before 8 and getting both inside rides in by 10…then I made a batch of chicken masala that normally takes more than an hour..had lunch and went back outdoors for a third ride and it was much warmer and sunny so my hands didn’t freeze today…I’m so far away from outdoor fitness that my lungs were burning after pushing it a bit going out…and that stayed with me all the way back here…after a shower, I got on the weight work that takes an hour and I was done for the day a little after three…didn’t have any rest time at all in between tasks and I’m pretty tired…but my toe hasn’t hurt all day today so I’ll take that as a win…and I’ve been pouring the water down all day to get a little cushion…right now it’s 6:40 and I’m done for the day…just going to take it easy until I go to bed early…tomorrow will be another day…

Well…slept a little better last night and didn’t get out of bed til 6:22 and it was a peaceful sleep with not a lot of tossing and turning…but I feel like someone sucked all of my energy out of me and the prospect of heading downstairs in less than and hour to start riding is not attractive at all…have done 28 miles a day for the past three days…at least my gout has receded and I can move my toe again…need to cook today and that has to happen before lunch so I’m going to have to get moving soon…and that seems like a lot of work right now…didn’t get much done yesterday but my bathroom needs work today…I wonder if I’ll ever allow myself a day off? It’s damn cold out there again today so I’ll have to wait to get and outdoor ride in until the afternoon…24 degrees and I’m not going to freeze my butt off like I did yesterday…my hands still feel damaged with how cold I got them and I don’t want to  add to that…not much to do today…just making chicken masala for lunch and then getting outdoors for a ride around 2 or so….cleaning just doesn’t seem to be in the cards for today but who knows? Well…just got back from a cold, cold outdoor ride that I probably shouldn’t have done since my hands went all the way though cold to pain by the time I got back here…they thawed out without much pain so I’ll take it…when I was riding along Muskegon Lake, I thought it was odd that Verplanks had one of it’s tugboats out on the lake playing icebreaker today…something I’ve never seen before…it sounded so cool when it rammed into the ice ridges that are still in the lake…posted photos over on Mastodon…
