Well…not much change in sleep last night so I’m not going to talk about it today…I did get out to get the paper a little after 6 and had the top down in the fog so that was cool….I really would like to skip riding today and do a healing day but I know I won’t but I won’t do more than two rides…I did just read that they are going to dredge the sand out of the mouth of Muskegon harbor starting this week since that huge freighter ran aground on a sandbar that had formed right in the middle of the channel…and they will be putting that sand on the beaches so I may not be able to use my normal beach for a week or so…should be interesting to watch and I will be curious to see what the results will be…I guess I can still use the main beach at Pere Marquette park so no big deal….didn’t really get much done yesterday but the weed walk late in the afternoon and I am still amazed the the rain didn’t hit here at all yesterday when just to the north it poured all afternoon….so it looks like I’ll need to water the lawn today after I wet down the patches I put in Saturday….my bean plants started to flower yesterday with the cool little purple flowers so I’ll have some beans in a few weeks and I am really looking forward to it…nothing better than fresh green beans out of the garden….not much to do today…just watching races with F1 starting right now and I may put the AC unit in the window but I’m not sure…it’s supposed to be almost 90 for the first part of this week so I may need it…although I only ran it twice last year so I may just open the windows….and I do want to do at least one ride in the fog after the race but right now I just want to sit here and watch the race, have coffee, and read the news….more later…

Well…have been having a little fun with the squirrels out here this spring with feeding them the stale bread that I have most of the time…it’s difficult to go through a whole loaf before it spoils and at a little over a buck, it’s cheap entertainment for me….so a couple of days ago, I finally got the female grey squirrel to come up and take a slice of bread out of my hand and that was pretty cool…and she runs toward the back door when she is in the yard and hears it…and I think this spring’s black squirrel litters are starting go out on their own…I have a little one that I threw a slice to yesterday and he seemed to like it…but then a huge brown squirrel chased him and took the bread away…that guy must have been 4-5 times bigger than the black one and I thought he might have scared him away but he’s back today so that is cool…and I just tossed a couple of slices out there for any squirrels or birds that happen on them…kind of fun to have them hang out in the yard and chase each other around…..

Well…running a bit late this morning with tossing and turning all night and not getting out of bed til almost 6:30 but feel like I didn’t sleep at all…crap….I did get some work done yesterday with taking the moss out of the lawn in the front of the house and re-seeding it with some shade grass to see if I can get it to fill in…and I even used the shade seed on the terrace that had dead spots from all the crap they put on it when they dug the street up…and Tom came over for a nice visit and brought his dog who has more damn energy than I can believe…and I wish I had that much but feel like I’m running on empty….I did get two rides in yesterday and didn’t even consider doing three so that’s progress on my part….there was a cruise ship docked down the hill in Heritage landing yesterday and that was a little weird…I mean there is not much to do here and no attractions that I would want to see on a cruise ship stop….and all of the people that I saw getting off were my age at least or older and they just stood around on the dock since it is too far for oldsters to walk to any restaurant or bar…..hmmm….not much to do today….just need to get on the bike here in a few minutes to get the day started and then just take it easy most of the day….I do have to cook for lunch today…or have leftovers…not sure which but I know I do have to figure out meals for Monday and get something out of the freezer but that’s not much work….more later….

Well…I sure like doing all my secretary of state stuff online…I hadn’t gotten my renewal notice from the state for my car plate renewal tabs and was getting concerned that it wouldn’t get to me in time for the tabs to get here by my birthday next month so I went online to order them Wednesday of this week and they just showed in the mail today…and that is pretty cool…only two days from ordering and I have them in my hand…pretty damn efficient and I didn’t have to go into the SOS office to do it or to renew my drivers license that also came in less than a week after I ordered it…no more standing in line for an hour at a busy office…yay…

Well…damn, it only in the 40’s again out there and I am not going to get on the bike in the 40’s anymore….and I think I’ve earned a late start today with doing 60 miles yesterday…and I hurt my back somehow and it is really stiff today…one of the new pains I talked about yesterday that I don’t normally feel after a long ride day…I did sleep okay last night and stayed in bed til almost 6:30 after waking up at 5 or so and I really don’t expect much better than that anymore…I would like to be surprised with a solid 8 hour night but, as time goes on, I know that is not going to happen…didn’t get a lot done yesterday…yeah, that’s not right…60 miles and mowing the lawn is a lot to do in one day but I didn’t get work done I guess is what I meant….but I don’t have a lot to do outside other than weed the garden and I may put the rest of the food on the lawn today to take advantage of the rain that we are supposed to get Sunday….the shade grass that I put in the front of the house really came in great and I wonder if I should try to take the moss out and re-seed where it is? I think I need some more topsoil to do that and I think I’ll get a couple of bags next week so when I get the bug to do it, I’ll have the stuff I need….not much to do today…I am going to do one on the first January 6th hearing that was held last night and all I’ll say now is if you are not watching, you should be….I think I’ll only do two rides today even though the weather is nice to make sure that I don’t do damage to my body…and if I don’t have cocktails or eat peanuts, I don’t need to burn the calories….I do need to do laundry and cook today…going to have a marinated pork chop, asparagus, and rice for lunch…yummy,,,,more later….

Well…damn, 60 miles today…and that was not in the plan at all…but after I got to 45 early in the afternoon, I just had to try it….and it wasn’t bad…still had energy left to be able to sprint on the way back…no dead legs or other problems other than I have a few new pains that I don’t normally get doing shorter distances….but, I can live with them…and now I have to figure out if I keep this up just to see how long I can go doing 4 rides a day….or not…I probably should start doing some other things as I talked about the other day…have lots of cleaning to do and I want to replace the lattice on the front steps with solid boards to make it look a little more modern…oh, and with the 60 miles today, I went over 2,000 miles for the year to get to one third of the goal….I’m sure glad I got the new tire for the back of  bike since this one will only last until about October at the rate I’m going…okay, done for the day…need to get a couple of things done before the hearings start….

Well…it’s almost two and it’s been an okay day so far….do I dare say that I even felt almost happy out on the second ride and I don’t know where that came from….and I have 45 miles in so far and mowed the lawn so I’m pretty sure I’ll be out for a 4th one after the Portugal/Czech republic soccer match that is on at 2:45…and I even mowed the lawn in between rides and the mower is still working fine after I fixed it a couple of weeks ago….still need to get the pork chops in the marinade here in a minute but I need to take a little break first…the soreness is starting to bubble up in my legs but I think they will still be a go when the soccer match is over around 5….I think I will make popcorn for the hearings at 8 tonight and I laughed my butt off when Mark Hamill popped up in my twitter feed this morning cradling a big bowl of popcorn in his pj’s in anticipation for tonight….it was good to have a lot of work to do today so I really didn’t have to think much…just to plan the sequence of the rides, lunch, and mowing….now it’s break time…I need some water….

Well…damn, it’s the middle of June and my heat came on last night and that is just wrong…and I’ll have to wait to get on the bike this morning since it is only about 48 out there and I need at least 50 to go out without long pants on…brrr…was up a bunch of times last night but slept okay and feel okay this morning so I’ll take that…and it looks like I have an hour before it will be warm enough to go out on the bike so I’ll have the chance to have enough coffee to get me started today….it was nice to have rain all day yesterday and I hope it’s enough to green my lawn back up after I fed it before the rain started a couple of days ago….but I know I’ll have to start watering it again and need to make the decision of how much brown I can accept before next week when it’s not supposed to rain at all and the temp is getting back up into the 80’s….and I also need to think about how much I want to go to the beach with the nice weather coming…damn, what a problem to have….I did get 5 of the 8 bean seeds I planted for extras to come up over the past day so that is cool but still no extra peppers and I must have planted 20 or 30 of them…I guess I’ll just have to do without them this year….but I have excess tomatoes coming up all over the garden from seeds that were left from the dropped tomatoes at the end of the season last year and I am a little curious what kind they are….not much to do today….just going to clean some after doing the bathroom yesterday and I’m going to feed all of the flowers that have come up along the house…not sure when I’m going to have to mow the lawn again but it won’t be today…and I need to get some of the pork chops I got yesterday in a marinade so I can have some of them tomorrow…oh, and I do need to watch the January 6th hearings tonight and I think everyone should….this is going to reveal just how bad the repubs are in their conspiracy against you, me, and the country…and it’s not going to be pretty….more later….

Well…I’m glad I decided to go out for a ride before I did the grocery run this morning…was waiting for a dry hole that was coming this way for a second ride but it just filled in and it looks like rain for the next 3 or 4 hours so probably only one ride today…unless I go out late after it’s over but I’m not sure I want to…so probably 3 rides tomorrow to make up for it….I did get out to GH this morning to get garden food and might have enough for half the summer anyway…then I hit aldis and got back here before 10 but still had a run to Hardings to make to get some assorted pork chops for 1.49 a pound and milk they had on sale…got 6 pounds of chops to restock the freezer and have some in a couple of days after the leftovers are done…I think taking the battery switch out of the back of the car has made a difference…it seems to start better…not like the battery is weak and that is pretty cool…and I drove almost 30 miles today which is 3 times what I normally do in a week…but now the car will sit til Sunday and getting the paper….I did get some cleaning done, too, and have a nice smelling bathroom with the second set of towels hung up…pretty nice to have two sets now….but, soccer is coming on in a few minutes and I am done working for the day…

Well…that was a little better…didn’t get out of bed til 6:23 but was up and down all night and I’ll still take it….feel better this morning and might even have a little energy to go out on the bike here in a few minutes…even though it is only 52 out there right now…it is supposed to rain today but we have the same damn thing going on that happens all the time out here…the storms are splitting and going north and south and leaving us in the dry slot in between….so it looks like more money going into the lawn with watering it over the next few days…darn…didn’t get much done yesterday and that is a little disappointing…I think part of it is a lack of planning and just winging the days when I know that I’ll gravitate toward doing nothing if I do that….but I really don’t have a lot to do outside here anymore with all of the big outside projects done….I do have to brave the construction and run into GH to the depot there to get the garden food I need since they don’t carry it up here and that is a little weird….might do that tomorrow or later today if it rains…it is a little weird that I’m using Meijers less and less as they have less bargains on sale every week…this week, I’m not even going there at all and will just go to Aldi’s and Hardings to get sale items…I think they’ve outsmarted themselves by forcing you to buy multiple items to get the sale prices…I mean how much of one thing does a person living alone need? Not much to do today…need to ride here in a minute and then out to aldi’s but that is about all I have planned…will try to get a second ride in later this morning but I still have my fingers crossed that I’ll get rained out….more later….
