Well…damn, another busy day that I thought was going to be a total loss with how I felt when I got up this morning….got the two rides in to start it off and then got the lawn mowed after that and it looks pretty good and I’m happy to get it done before the rain that is forecast for wed…ha,ha…yeah, that made me laugh…the rain forecast out here is probably the worst of any place I’ve lived and probably will be until the lake warms up and stops being the barrier to storms that is has been all spring…I did finally get over to the little sitting area along the trail that I have been looking at for a couple of years now and cut the grass and weeds that were about 3 feet tall in it…and cleaned up the all of the trash that was in it, too…then I raked up the cut grass and weeds and tossed them across the trail into the woods and brought the trash back here…it looks so much better and one guy I see on the trail everyday called me a “good samaritan” for doing it but it was more that the city had forgotten about it and I had the time and equipment to do it so why not? Now I won’t have to think about it twice every day when I ride by….and now it’s after 3 and I am done for the day….well…maybe one more ride later…we’ll see….

Well…darn, a 5:23 morning today and I am starting to feel the lack of sleep a bunch…pretty worn out this morning and my allergies are really sucking….have had a low level headache for weeks now and that is tiring, too…didn’t get much done yesterday other than ride the bike and I have lost all motivation to do anything so today may be the same but I won’t be able to get on the bike until almost 10 since it is only 39 outside right now and I am still wondering where the hell spring is…can’t remember such a cold May with the high today only being 60 or so and it only warming up into the 70’s later in the week…oh, well….I am going to plant the last of the plants from downstairs today so I can shut the light down and clean up down there…not going to have a lot of green peppers this year since I couldn’t get the seeds to sprout and that goes for the cukes, too….none of them sprouted and I have put in so many seeds that I went through at least 30 of them with no luck….might just plant the rest of them today just for the hell of it…at least my 12 bean plants look good and are growing along with the tomatoes….not much to do today…just need to wake up and get moving but I’m not sure when that will happen….and I will need to mow the lawn either today or tomorrow since it is supposed to rain wed, thur, fri and I wonder if I should get more food to put on the lawn before that? Well…you know, during the winter I could justify taking the day off the indoor bike on Sundays so I wonder why I can’t do that now with getting so many more miles in during the week? Oh, well…today is filled with sports that I want to see so wedging in a bike ride or two is going to be a little difficult…F1 starts right now and runs til 11 when the final day of the Premier league goes off with all of the teams playing at once that will last til 1 or so….then I have a window to get out until 4 when pole qualifying at Indy starts and then into the nascar all star race that starts at 5:30 and runs til 10…so do I watch everything live or do I wait and watch it in replay tomorrow? I know I’ll do the F1 race and then Man U match unless they suck…and it’s still too cold to get out on the bike…I mean 49 degrees in the end of May…and tomorrow morning is going to be in the 30’s and that just sucks….hope it doesn’t hurt my veggies or the flowers that are up…okay, the race is starting so I’ll end here….more later…

Well…I guess it’s becoming normal to wake up before 5 and then try to go back to sleep and then out of bed a little after 6….but, I feel okay so I guess I can live with it….it was a little weird going out for the paper this morning when the store I go to had an outage so I couldn’t use my debit card…luckily, I had just enough cash on me to buy the paper…and the clerk said that even Meijers was out last night and her husband had to use cash to buy groceries…so that means I’ll need to hit the atm sometime this week just to have a little cash in my pocket just in case….I think we got enough rain yesterday that I won’t have to water the lawn this week and it should green up after getting pretty brown in the back over the past couple of weeks…have to start thinking about feeding it again to keep the improvement happening…..I do have two green pepper plants that have come up downstairs that need to be planted but then I’m moving the lilac cuttings outside to continue hoping they will root or I’m going to have to figure out what to do across the back fence to fill it in….not much to do today…it’s still too cold to get on the bike right now and the F1 race is on at 9 so I don’t have time to get out anyway…it looks like I’ll sit here and have coffee for a while and read some news….and then try to figure out if I want to work today or take it easy…I do need to cook some chicken I have thawed but that is about all I can think about right now…more later…

Well…yeah, I did look for a political topic all day today…but not too hard so I was bored this aft and thought I’d replace the broken electrical outlet since it is a pretty easy job…so I moved the couch and got at it after I went downstairs to shut the power off…and this house is wired up pretty weird…the breaker that runs the living room also runs half of the basement and I guess that is what they had to do with only 6 breakers for this whole house…I am gradually getting rid of the old two prong outlets so I don’t have to use the grey adapters much anymore and that will be a project to complete as I work on this place….it only took about 10 minutes to do the job and get everything buttoned back up but I did have a problem that I kicked myself a bit from…in trying to find the right breaker, I shut the kitchen one off which blanked all of the clocks in there, one of which is on my coffee maker…so I reset the clocks…or thought I did until the coffee maker started to bubble and make coffee at 6pm…so I had to let it finish and then reset the clock to the right time…but that means I won’t have a coffee smell alarm clock to wake me up in the morning…darn….oh, well…at least I got something done today other than ride the bike…

Well…that was a busy morning and it’s finally raining again and I really thought it wouldn’t..got two good rides in and almost did a full sprint on the second one and that felt good….and I was even out around 8 for the first one but got the time wrong for F1 qualifying and didn’t get out for the second one until almost 11 so that put me back here a little after noon…I did have my trash can infested with fly larvae and had to spray it with poison to keep them from maturing and having flies all over the place….I guess now I have the rest of the day off with the rain keeping me inside for a couple of hours at least…haven’t been able to find a topic for a political one yet but I’ll keep trying and see what happens….more later?

Well…it kind of sucks when you “sleep in” and get up only 23 minutes later than normal….and the heat is still on and it’s almost the end of May….at least we did get a bit of rain out here last night but, as always, the main part of the storms missed us to the north and south and that is happening again with huge blobs of storm and rain about 20 miles to the south right now and it looks like the rain is done here for the day already….and it’s going to stay in the 50’s all day…and that may make it a one ride day today since I could use a little rest with my legs already hurting and I haven’t done anything yet….and F1 qualifying is on at 11 and I need to see that…and doing two rides this morning would mean I need to get out there here in about 15 minutes and I just don’t feel like it….I need a day to just sit here and take it easy and I think I’ve earned it but won’t do it….I did get a few things done yesterday and have a few things to do today and would like to get the lilac cuttings outside so I can shut down the light downstairs….and I have one green pepper plant that has come up so I need to get that planted outside…the herbs that I planted never came up in the cups so I really don’t have much hope of getting them to sprout outside this year so that may wait til next year….not much to do today….just going to ride and cook and putter around here a bit…I should replace that plug behind the couch but I’m not motivated enough to do that and it may wait til tomorrow….more later….

Well…after running errands this morning, I fully planned to get three rides in today and add another 45 miles to the total for the year…but, the wind has come up to the point where it is gusting to over 30 and, after 80 miles over the past two days, my legs just don’t need that abuse…am I closing the door to going out again this aft? Nope, never do that…especially when I have only been sitting here for 15 minutes and I am already getting bored…and I even went out and planted the Jalapeno sprouts, 3 sunflowers that were ready, and another pack of seeds out front to get some color out there for this year…I must have spent 20 bucks just on flower seeds this year…but it looks like it will be worth it with all of them that have coming up….I can’t wait to see the colors I have…and I guess doing laundry counts as doing something, too, so I have done some work today but, as yesterday, it doesn’t seem like enough…oh, I did replace the nail in the roller shaft with a cotter pin this afternoon,too, and now I feel better that it is a permanent fix for the door moving from side to side and pulling the shaft out of the bracket…nice to not have to think about that anymore….and to have the door quieter…oh, and it looks like I may be able to salvage three of the 10 lilac cuttings downstairs so I may be able to plant them next week….and probably go over and get a few more since I’d like to have enough to fill the whole fence in…and that just gave me an idea…instead of a gate in the back yard, maybe I’ll fill the space with shrubs of some kind, just leaving enough room to get the mower and my bike through…it’s an idea anyway….

Well…I hate it when a plan doesn’t come together…as you know from the last post yesterday, I rode 50 miles to make up for not being able to ride today with the rain that was forecast but that changed and now there is no rain until maybe tonight or tomorrow…and I mowed my lawn to get ready for it and now the lawn will probably turn brown without the rain…crap….and the plug that I plug this thing into broke so I’m using an extension cord to get power out of the bedroom to run everything…so I need to run out to depot to get a new plug, cover plate, and some cotter keys so I can replace the nail I put in the garage door to hold the roller in place…I did sleep okay last night and don’t feel too bad even with having a cocktail but that won’t be repeated tonight….and I’m not as sore as I should be after all the miles yesterday so I’ll be getting back on the bike after the run to depot and I’m not sure how many miles I’m going to do today…probably just the normal 30 miles since there is nothing on the radar to keep me from it….but the wind is blowing pretty hard so it may just be one ride….I wonder if I’ll get to a new normal of 45 miles a day? Not sure if I want to….not much to do today…just the depot run and then riding…going to make a burger for lunch and then probably some chicken later….need to keep the calories down and lose much more weight…..more later….

Well…man, I’m sore….got 50 miles in on the bike today and mowed and edged the lawn and I am sitting here still thinking that I need to do something else….even with all of that done for today…and I’m not sure why that would be….oh, well….damn, it looks like the battery on the laptop has completely crapped out since it won’t ake any charge anymore…I hope it’s not the computer itself or I’ll have to buy a new one…damn, one more thing to think about…I did just change out the power supply for another identical on that I have but it doesn’t look like it’s doing anything so I guess I’ll have to look for a new battery on the internet and order one…at least it still works from the power supply so I can keep doing this…crap….I need a drink…and I just might have one….
