Well…okay, that was early…running a little late today with getting out on the bike by 7:10 to try to beat the rain and almost did…it was spitting rain the whole 15 miles but I didn’t get too wet and it was over 48 so I could even go out in shorts….but that hot shower really felt good since the temp was borderline…feels good to get a ride in that early but I’m not sure if there will be a second one today with rain supposed to be on an off all day…but, we’ll see….slept okay last night and didn’t get out of bed til 6 but woke up at 4:30 and then tried to sleep again without much success…so crap…that only means 5 hours or so of sleep and we’re getting back to that again…I did just notice that my left shoulder is not hurting anywhere near as much as it had been but I think the tendonitus moved over to my right elbow since that hurts and is stiff again…I do have two of the garlic cloves that I planted that have sprouted but none of the other seeds I planted have yet…but with upper 60’s to 70 weather coming, I think I’ll get some of them to grow….I do have to get out to depot this week to get my tomato cages and some potting soil to put some plants in buckets in the back yard and that needs to happen before I plant Thursday with the weather breaking for good and the nighttime temps over 40 from there on out….didn’t get a lot done yesterday and today looks the same but I am going to make a pizza for lunch since I was able to find yeast this week…and how I make them, they really are pretty healthy…I even use turkey pepperoni so there is no fat in it all…and the rest of it is just veggies…oh, I do use real cheese so I guess that’s bad for you but I can live with that….more later…

Well…yeah, I’m really late with this one but I have been out of synch all day and I’m not sure why….the day just feels weird to me and a little off…and I lost two of the four tomato plants I had out last night even though they were double covered…I guess 24 degrees is just too much for them…and I’ll probably lose the other two in the next four days that it is going to be below freezing…but, I have four more going downstairs so I guess it’s no big deal other than I’ll be behind where I wanted to be….and I planted beans and sunflowers downstairs too just to make sure I can get them to come up…the garden is looking to be a bust along with the flowers out front but I’m only out about 10 bucks so I can live with that…my day is so screwed up I didn’t even eat lunch until 2:30 and that normally happens by noon or so…it’s hard to eat when I don’t get rides in since I can’t afford to not offset the calories with a ride…and I only did one today with the wind blowing over 20…it was really brutal out there on the way out into the wind….and it wasn’t warm enough to go out again…the cold ride this morning left me freezing all day and I am just now getting to feel warm again..okay, yeah, no political one today…again, haven’t even been able to get through the news to find a topic…and that is not me either….okay, think I have a topic….

Well…26 degrees…in frickin May…record cold that I can’t remember ever happening before…and I’m old…that’s just depressing….but, after the next 5 days, the weather is supposed to get back to almost normal and I am going to be able to plant my veggie garden…finally…feel pretty crappy this morning after having cocktails last night but I don’t hurt as much as I did the past few days and I hope taking the day off the bike yesterday will help that too…but I am going to get out later today after it gets over 42 so I can go out without gloves or a stocking hat….used up the last of the bird food yesterday and saw something pretty cool….some young sparrows that were being fed seed by their mother on my window feeder…have never seen that before…I did have an almost no work day yesterday but it was harder than I expected…and boring, boring, boring…the day seemed like it lasted forever and my guilt about doing nothing welled up all day to the point where it wasn’t too enjoyable….so, not going to do that today…probably won’t do a lot but I will do some stuff….have cleaning and laundry to do and I may bake a loaf of bread since I was able to find yeast at Meijers and I have some bread flour that I can use….I did cover the 4 tomato plants that I have outside but they were looking pretty scraggly even before the cold so I don’t think they are going to survive it….so I planted 4 more seeds that just came up and I will be able to plant those in their place….more later….

Well…it’s day off day! For the first time since I can remember, I am going to take the day off from everything…no bike rides, no work outside, no nothing….just a total veg day of tv and music and fooling around…okay, that sounds ridiculous, if you know me at all you’ll know that not doing anything is not possible for me…so, as the day goes on, I’ll get antsy and start thinking of a project to do and then get going doing something…but it is a good thought with how much pain I was in yesterday…and the pain continues today but the ibuprofen knocked it down enough to where I don’t have to limp around here anymore….so maybe today will be planning the rest of the projects I have to do outdoors…and starting on getting the doors off the linen closet so I can paint them and finish the interior…see, I can’t just do nothing….but I am going to veg it a little this morning and ease into the day with coffee and some tv playing in the background….but I am going to take the day off the bike since I am not going to go full thermasuit with gloves in May….and my legs can use the rest….more later….

Well…as I just said in the previous post, it has been a busy day and I am sore damn near everywhere but I am waiting to take something for it til the normal time at 7 since I missed the window this afternoon when I really should have take something…as I said, it was a busy today with running an errand early, then on the bike for the first ride, painting the trim on the front of the garage, making lunch, back on the bike for another hard 15 miler in the howling wind, then mowing the lawn after I got back, some yard work, and then making a big ham for dinner…and then cleaning a bit inside. So, I am worn the hell out and it really hurts to move at all…must have used new muscles to balance on the ladder and paint…even painted left handed for some of it since it was a pain to climb down and move the ladder….but, the garage looks good so it was worth it….and the grass seed I put in out front has started to come up and fill in the bare spots so I have hope that I’ll have a lawn by the end of the summer….I am kind of happy that none of my overflow garden seeds have come up yet…that keeps me from having to cover them with the lows reaching the 20’s over the next couple of days…and my flower seeds out front haven’t come up either so maybe I’ll have timed it right…we’ll see…all I know is I think I’ve earned cocktails and tv tonight with all of the work this week…I need some mindless vegging to recover…after all, doing 30 miles a day for the past 14 days in a row takes a lot out of me…so I’m taking tomorrow off the bike and using the cold coming in as an excuse….just for me…

Well…running a little late today with not getting up til coffee o’clock and I can’t get started for some reason…but, my overall pain is better after remembering to take something for it last night…I even hurt so much that I took something for it yesterday afternoon and that made a huge difference on the bike and for the rest of the afternoon…not sure if that can be sustained but it was nice to be able to move around here without pain for a while…but now I’m coughing again and that is damn annoying….but at least I know it’s allergies with my head plugged up too….enough of that…I do have an errand to run this morning to return the hose I bought Tuesday since it blew an end off the second time I used it…but that spurred me to buy another expanding hose instead and I got the chain lube I have been thinking about with it and that will be here in a couple of weeks since Amazon is still slow with all of the people using it….and that hose was only 19 bucks…the same as the one that exploded so that was cool…but I lost the receipt so it may be a pain to get the refund….oh, well….I did get the trim on the garage wire brushed yesterday so I can paint today if I feel like it…but it has to be today or I’ll have to wait for a week or so with the cold that is coming in…I mean 24 degrees in May? Pretty sure I’ll lose the tomato plants that I planted but I have more seeds planted downstairs so they’re not needed but we’ll see how that goes…not much to do today….will probably only do one ride today if I get to the painting and that will help with healing the legs some…it’s a little weird that only doing one ride a day now feels like a failure after doing doubles for almost two weeks….more later….

Well…that was a mistake…didn’t take any painkillers or allergy meds last night and I am miserable this morning…coughing with a stuffed up head and every damn thing hurts…maybe I shouldn’t put this old body through that much torture….I did sleep okay last night but my energy level has crashed too and I can barely do this right now….just want to lie down and stop thinking but I won’t…I did get a few things done yesterday…got a new lightweight hose from Aldi’s for 19 bucks and it is cool that I can now reach the entire lot here and with getting my new compressor a couple of days ago, I have everything I need for this house and the next one…but I do need to get out to depot to get my tomato cages and some lawn food in the next week or so but I’m not in any hurry for that with the cold that is coming…I mean 46 for a high in Michigan in May? Damn…when Is spring going to come? I really wish that it would rain so I could take a day off the bike…it has become a chore but I think that’s the double rides every day…and having to put the thermasuit on to ride….my thighs are screaming at me just sitting here so maybe I cut back to one today….damn, my brain is only working a little this morning so maybe I’ll cut this one short…not much to do today…need to do a grocery run to get some stuff that I need to make pizza this weekend and I want to get a ham before they’re not available any more…that will get me through for a couple of weeks if I break it down….more later…

Well….that wasn’t too bad…didn’t get up til 6 after going to bed a little early and I was good last night so I think that helped, too….but, I’m still damn sore from all of the riding and working outside and I may have to take a day off to rest everything and start the healing…I am old after all and I don’t know how long I can keep up the pace…but, if I don’t keep up the pace I know I’ll lose my ability to and I just can’t stand that thought….so maybe this is what everyone goes through when they over extend themselves….at least that’s what I’m going to tell myself until the facts say otherwise…it looks like the weather is going to go cold again for the next week at least so I’ll have to cover the tomatoes I planted yesterday if they are going to survive…it’s frickin May and the heat is still on…there has been no spring around here and I still haven’t smelled the spring smell that usually comes in April….so, we hunker down for both the virus and the weather and that is a little depressing….but I am getting my 1200 bucks on the 8th so I guess that’s something….I do need to make a run out to Aldi’s this morning to try to get some chicken and they have a 50ft expanding hose on sale for 20 bucks and I need one of those to reach the rest of the lot here…and I really like the one I have since it is so light to drag around as I try to repair the bare spots in the front lawn and clean up everything else…it is so cool to have the luxury of  water to work with around here…not much to do today….just the run to Aldi’s and then maybe only one ride today…I do have some cleaning to do today but I think I’ll start on the garage trim so I can paint it later in the week instead…more later….

Well…during the ride today, I decided to go down the unpaved trail that leads nearer to the eagles nest and when I was watching the male, a tiny little eaglet head popped up and started waving around and it looked like the male was feeding it…pretty cool…and I can’t wait to see it get bigger and bigger over the summer until it fledges. I did get out to HF today and got my new compressor and it is a pretty cool unit for only 39 bucks…of, course the first thing I used it for was to air up the tires on the bike and it was pretty neat that it only took a second of air to get them from 35 to 60 psi….and I bought a kit of all the air tools and fittings that I needed to get started for 11 bucks…and it even came with a 25 foot curly hose that is just damn convenient…oh, and one last thing…my 1200 buck payment is supposed to be in my account on the 8th so I can afford to get out and get the rest of the garden supplies…I planted some tomatoes outside today since they had fallen over downstairs and I was going to start 4 more from seeds so I’m not losing anything by planting them even if they die….but I am going to wait to plant the rest of them until we get past this cold spell….probably next week…

Well…this is weird…it’s only 37 degrees outside and it’s 68 in here and the heat hasn’t come on all night…I wonder if it’s because this brick house stored heat over the past couple of days with it being almost 70? I’m sitting here in shorts and that is the first time I’ve been able to do that since I moved in here….hmmm….I did make it all the way to 5:29 this morning and don’t feel too bad today so I’ll take it….and I think I’m going to ease into this morning and might just only ride once today since my legs are sore and heavy and I really felt it on the second ride yesterday…I do need to make the run over to HF this morning to get the new air compressor before the coupon expires so I think I’ll use that to fill the time while it’s too cold to ride….still haven’t put shorts on yet this year and I think it’s probably the latest I’ve ever waited…I normally switch in April but for some reason the cold is getting to me this year and I just want to be warm….didn’t get anything done yesterday and I’m not sure what I’m going to get done today…probably should start on prepping the trim on the garage to paint and work on the trim on the front of the house, too….I am going to get a 120 flap disc at HF to work on the front door, too since the paint is so hard my sander won’t cut it…and that paint will finish off the front of the house….geez….my allergies are bad today…my head is plugged up and I am miserable….and I need more coffee….more later….
