Well…it is a bad day when you have to warm the car up before you can go out and get the paper…there is so much ice on it this morning that there is no other way…so, that’s why I’m early today…waiting for the coffee to brew so I thought I’d do this now….it was another bad night for the Wings last night and I think I’ll stop watching them for a while…I do feel pretty crappy this morning but I knew that would happen with the night last night….but, I’ll live through it…maybe….and I may even come back for another one today…not completely sure but maybe…more later…

Okay…there are a couple more things that I wanted to mention today…turned the car over to 290 thousand miles this week..yep, that’s right…290 thousand….that’s about 120 thousand more than I’ve had on any car that I’ve owned…but the old Mazda is looking it with the foam and duct tape that is holding it together…so I do hope I find a job soon so I can retire it…and get the Miata that I’ve been wanting for quite a while now….it’s 8:45 and I’m already bored…at least there is pool with Tom later today that I’m looking forward to and the pool is free so that will save us 10 bucks or so…going back to the couch for a while…and I am over the 62 I needed for the month so maybe I’ll take it easy for the next couple of days…who knows?

Well…as always, running late this morning for no reason other than I had to get the ribs in the oven so they can slow cook for almost 5 hours….I was hoping they would be done for the start of the Michigan game but that won’t be the case..oh, well…it was just another disappointing night last night…the Wings looked like crap again and I don’t know what is going on with that…there is another game tonight so maybe they can get back on track…I’m just sitting here now waiting for the temp to come up a little so I can get the bike ride in before the Michigan game starts…I wish they would have scheduled the State game for later in the day but it looks like I’ll have to wear out the remote flicking today…other than the games, not much to do today…I do need to continue cleaning since I have been making good progress here lately and I like having a clean place again…but that is about it…I will come back for another one later once the coffee and bike ride clear my head a little….

Well…I am running late today for a good reason…had a phone interview for a job that went almost an hour and had a good laugh doing it….it was nice to get an interviewer who was older than I am and have the instant chemistry that comes from it…I think it went well but I thought that last time…at least this time I won’t run out and buy a suit for the next interview that may not come. It was nice to have someone show some interest and this would be a management position so that would be right up my alley. I wonder if I’m not taking these things seriously enough? Who knows? Do I have to change the name of this thing if I get a job? Nope, I’ve spent too long building this brand to do that…maybe I’ll just use it as a way to relate the travails of the working man….and politics won’t stop if I find a job…

Well…another night and I didn’t watch the world series…so I don’t know who won the game…hold on…I’ll go look…okay, the Cards won so it’s going to a game 7…still not that interested in it….I did get a call on a resume yesterday and I have a phone interview coming up this morning….kind of funny that I just sent the resume out yesterday morning and got the call in the aft….we’ll see how that one goes…not much to do today…after the interview it will be the normal day…out for coffee and papers and then back here to cook and clean…I need some water and the couch for a minute so I’ll be back later for more…

Well…another night and I was good except for a glass of wine with dinner so it looks like I’m going to feel okay today…at least for a while….I do have some things to feel good about…well…I have been pretty prolific lately and some of them have even been relatively lucid…but I know the economic one on Netflix was a little dry but I did need to exercise my brain and see if I could still remember the stuff I learned in college and in the 30 years I spent in business. Not sure if I can keep it up but I haven’t really been trying more than normal so it may be sustainable….not much to do today…it’s grocery run day and it is so sad that I look forward to that now…and I am going to continue to clean this place up….looks like there are showers in the forecast but I still have hope to get the ride in today…more later…

Okay…have to relay a little home weirdness that I saw when I pulled into the lot here today…there was a flock of over 20 turkeys just walking across the lot and on the lawn that really didn’t care that I was there….then. a few more of them came flying in over the row of trees that are out my slider….pretty cool to see…I wonder what they taste like?

Well…it was fun to get out for a while last night but the Wings stunk up the place for a second game in a row and I don’t know what is going on with them….maybe this is our season that we don’t make the playoffs…that is a thought I really don’t want to entertain…I was good when I got home again so I fell okay other that I was up at 5:30….and up and down all night…and no dreams other than a broken slider door in the house I was in that I had to fix with duct tape….yeah, I know,,,that one was not too interesting to me either….not much to do today…I am debating with myself whether to do the grocery run today or tomorrow but will probably wait…another month is coming to a close without any responses to the resumes and I am getting concerned that I will never work again….more later…

Well….another night but I did have a little fun going out for a couple with G….and I was good when I got home so i feel good today even with getting up at 3:11…I did get back to sleep for a while but I think there will be a nap necessary later….I do have things to do later today for a change..C is in town and we are going out to watch the Wings game and have a couple….it will be the first time since last season that I’ve been out to see a game and it is just better to do it in person than by text…other than that, not much to do today…..it is already almost 50 so it looks like the bike ride can happen early today unless it rains….wait, let me go look at the radar…maybe I won’t get to ride today..it looks like rain is setting up to the west and it will be raining most of the day…so maybe it will just be working out today…more later…

Okay…I did go out on the bike and misjudged the dry slot that was moving in so it was really cold and wet but not nearly as cold as the other day…it was nice getting the ride in but it looks like it is going to get progressively worse as the week goes on so I may have to adjust the schedule and try to tamp the guilt down that comes with not riding….fall is a new reality when it comes to the bike so I just have to accept it I guess….

Well…it was a boring Sunday but they all are so I shouldn’t be surprised….no dreams or anything else to report except that the sleep was crappy as always…but, today could be better, right? I sure hope so….not thinking right now so I’m going to go get coffee and read the papers…and that is all I have to do today….

Okay, I’m back but the coffee is not working as I had hoped…maybe the workout and bike ride will….there was one disheartening thing that I saw on the ride yesterday that I didn’t report….and for those of us here in Michigan it is not a welcome sight…the first pickup with a plow on the front….I really don’t need anything reminding me that winter is fast approaching…that was all too clear this morning when I got in the car and the windows were completely fogged up…I know the Mazda has that fatal flaw but I still don’t like being reminded of the coming changes…don’t want to have to warm it up every morning just going out for coffee…oh, well….

Well…you know how this works on the weekends….I run late, then apologize for it…not today, that’s just how things are and will probably always be..I’m used to it…you should be, too. The boredom level rose to almost unbearable heights last night but it was a good State game that helped some…the Wings looked like crap and got whipped, though, and that wasn’t fun…I do need to find some new things to do…have been saying that for a while now but I think I mean it now…or, maybe not, who knows? Not much to do today….the Lions play and there is a race from Talladega that might be fun….no more steaks today…I think I need to limit the red meat to once a week….going to make healthful chicken stir fry today…but the sauce is loaded with sodium so maybe it’s not too healthy…I am getting tired of watching what I eat….I can’ think of anyone else that keeps a mental running tally of the calories they take in every day….more later…

Well…it’s been another Saturday and I really didn’t do anything much….I did cook a t-bone for lunch and that was really good…I try to stay away from red meat and I’ll be back to that tomorrow with a chicken stir fry I think. I am getting a little excited about the Wings game tonight…going up against the Caps who are the other unbeaten team in the league. Oh, forgot to put the Wings gear on…back in a minute….I’m back…have the oldest Wings shirt on now that I bought almost 12 years ago and got it for the first trip to the Joe….didn’t have to wear the gloves today but I think I may have damaged my little fingers in the cold since they still itch today…hope not….it was a nice ride on the bike…..okay…have been just noodling a little until I get to the time when I can pour a cocktail which is quickly coming up along with the Wings game…so, I’m going to go do that and come back tomorrow with something of substance…
