Well…just looked at my bank account and, with my SS deposit today, I reached a financial milestone that I have been working toward what seems like forever…even almost a thousand bucks over so that feels pretty darn good…and with that, I’m going to spend 49 bucks of it tomorrow at a new store out here that I have a coupon for…and then I’m running in to save a lot to get a 10 pound box of riblets for 11 bucks since I have enough room in the freezer for them and still have enough gas in the tank to grill them and I even have some rub for them left in the cupboard…or I can make some rub myself since I have the ingredients…so I have something to do tomorrow that should be fun…and now, man U plays in an hour or so so I need to get everything done before then…

Distilled modern repub party…
Well…not sure if you’ve been following the saga of the newly elected repub from NY, George Santos, but that story is perfect distillation of what the modern repub has become….first, he lied about everything in his personal history…college, heritage, accomplishments, everything…nothing he told the voters was true and it has since been revealed that he was financed by Russian oligarchs and has been spouting Russian talking points since he got elected…just another extension of Putin’s screwing with our political system…and the sick thing is that the repub party knew all this and didn’t do a damn thing about it…and now McCarty is putting him on committees where he will be able to access classified material that will certainly end up in Putin’s hands and still the repubs don’t do anything about it…the modern repub party is just an arm of Russia anyway and has been since they installed the idiot trump as president…and yet they keep spouting that they are the party of “national security” and half of the country believes them…stupid, stupid Americans….geez…
January 18th
Well…boy this was an early morning with getting out of bed at 6:03 and I lost an earplug overnight and will need to open another set tonight….the first Star Trek TNG is on right now and it is still a good show…had a good day yesterday but felt like a slug with not doing much and today could be the same if I don’t get some motivation soon…not sure what is wrong with just living but it seems like giving up and that has never been how I do things…at least my basement is still dry…I hope, haven’t been down there this morning….I did find a movie to watch last night called “Annie” by Luc Besson who did “The Fifth Element” and lots of other ones like “Nikita” that was the source for “La Femme Nikita”…a tv show that I loved…and that kept me entertained for two hours last night….I might have to go back to that tonight and start watching it from the first one…..I do have to do the grocery run today but don’t have a lot to get so it will be a short one….still may go to save a lot to get 10 pounds of riblets but not today….that can wait til I have room in the freezer….not much to do today…Man U plays Chrystal Palace at 3 so I will need to get everything done by then but that will be easy….more later…
Two days in a row…
Well…just checked the basement and it’s dry so I think I may have found the problem and fixed it yesterday…the two days I’m talking about is the two darn days it has been raining out here…I really wanted to get started breaking my new walking shoes in but I don’t want to get them all dirty in the rain…I have been keeping my calorie intake down to between 6-800 a day and it appears that is working but man it’s hard to do that and it’s hard to not get any exercise…but Friday I’ll be one week in and only have two more to do so I guess I can do that….my back only hurts a little so that may be from not riding and my neck pain is almost gone too…but I feel like such a slug without riding or working on the place so I am going to get started on that tomorrow or Thursday….but right now there is soccer coming on so I’m going to watch a bit…
It’s about time…
Well…with the repubs doing what they always do, holding the world hostage by threatening to not raise the debt ceiling, I was happy the other day when leading dems just flatly refused to negotiate with them, saying that they are not giving the repubs a “cookie” to get them to do their damn jobs. I sure hope the dems stick with it this time and don’t cave to public pressure…the last time the repubs did this, there was a bloodbath of election losses in the next election and there will be again…and that would make McCarthy just another loser repub that couldn’t get anything done….and we need to get out in front of this right now…putting the blame right where it belongs and keep hammering it until 2024 when we will take back the house and keep the senate and it will help Biden get elected again if he runs…as the saying goes “you don’t negotiate with terrorists…and that is just what the repubs are…economic terrorists…geez…
December 17th
Well…running a bit late today with getting up at coffee o’clock…which translates into 7:03 with the first wake up at 5:04….I am still a little disappointed that I’m not having dreams again but that has become the new normal and I guess I just have to accept it…at least my back doesn’t hurt and I got through the whole day without much tooth pain so that is a double….I did start watching “The End of Us” last night and there is no way I would rate it as a 9.5 that IMDB did…more like a 7.5 but it was entertaining and filled an hour and twenty minutes of my night….didn’t get much done yesterday but use the new grill and mop the floor downstairs again but I think I have that sorted…at least I hope I do…we’ll see….it is really strange to not have the bike ride to do every morning but it also feels like real retirement in that I don’t have anything to do at all…I should clean some today and probably will or I may run out to Menards to get a couple more paddle led lights since they have some 5 paddle 8,000 lumen ones on sale for 4.99 and that would work great in the garage….if I had room in the freezer I’d run out to save a lot and get 10 pounds of riblets for 11 bucks…had some of them before and they were pretty good….not much to do today…just going to wing it for a while and have more coffee before I get into my day….it’s still raining out there and I am sure glad it’s not snow…more later….
Hypocrites all…
Well…on the MLK day, I am sick of the repubs all quoting him and twisting or cherry picking his words to make themselves look like they are not the white supremacists they are…after all , once this day is over, these hypocrites will go back to trying to keep black and brown people from voting and will continue to support the racists like the proud boys while they try to tear down the social safety nets that the less well to do depend on…people like me…and none of them will again mention him until this day next year unless they are lying to say that MLK would be a maga repub if he was still alive…I’ve got news for you repubs…MLK was a socialist and proud of the social justice he advocated for and not one damn maga asshole supports that. So, let’s just agree that if you aren’t going to do anything to promote social justice, just shut the hell up…geez…
I grilled today!
Well…I grilled today! Had some chicken legs that had to be cooked or frozen so I rolled the grill out the garage door and fired it up…even with this grill over 15 years old, it is still the best one I’ve ever cooked on…no flare ups or problems at all just needed to turn the chicken a bit and it came out great…and there is nothing that tastes like grilled food…as I sat out there leaning on the trunk of the Miata, the only thing I could hear was a crew putting a roof on a house nearby…no loud music or anything and that me feel like all the work I did making the neighborhood quiet worked…I’ll be back in a few minutes to do a political one…more later…
January 16th
Well…running really late today with not getting out of bed til 7:43…was up at 5:04 but waking up was a slow process today when I normally just jump out of bed when it’s time…slept okay but I think the lack of calories is already starting to hit me but maybe it’s just the lack of coffee….I did find a new show to watch last night but I don’t remember the name…it’s the mayor of some town and it has Jeremy Renner in it and it may turn out to be a good filler….there are two seasons so there are a few to see….it’s another Taylor Sheridan show like Yellowstone but it got crappy ratings…didn’t get much done yesterday but watch soccer and football and I am feeling a little unmoored with not having the bike rides to anchor my day…I did make the best guac I’ve ever done yesterday and I think it was the addition of roasted garlic that I did in the oven until it was soft…and it doesn’t have lot of calories in it so that is cool….boy, it looks like it’s going to be a wasted day today since I have no energy or motivation right now but we’ll see….I am going to fire up the grill and cook a bunch of chicken legs for lunch but can only have two for 300 calories…I wonder if I can roast some carrots, too…think I have some of those in the fridge…not much to do today….just going to ease into it…have a reply to a post on Mastodon I need to do right now about coffee and then I need to go out to Kos and do some reading….and I should take a walk and I may but we’ll see….more later….

Well…the damn news media and the repubs are all breathless since they found 12 classified documents in Joe Biden’s house and office and the repubs are really trying to equate these documents with the 1100 that trump stole…first, as soon as the Biden documents were found, they followed procedure and notified the government and promptly returned them…and they were found in secure areas…and didn’t need to be subpoenaed…now lets contrast that with the idiot trump…he purposely picked and stole 1100 documents, left them where anyone could get to them, lied about having them, would not return them when asked, went to court to keep them, and finally the FBI had to raid his tacky Florida club to get them back…and they still don’t know if they have them all…so these incidents are not the same no matter what fox news says or the repubs say…finding the material in Biden’s home and office is part of the normal functions of government where trump is just a thief who wanted to profit off the material he stole….so shut the hell up…
