Well…had a lot of plans to get work done today and I did make some progress on that…got started on my bedroom and put away a bunch of clothes and will get on the dusting tomorrow…I did get the rest of the normal stuff done, too, for 21 miles on the bike today…but then washed the wheel I’m rebuilding and masked if off so I can paint it after it dries completely…and I greased the bearings since that wheel has been sitting for 12 years or so and it was really dry…so I’ll have to put it together after I paint it and let it dry a couple of days…I tried the new tube patches I bought a couple of months ago but just never got around to patching the 8 tubes I have in the bike room…I really like how well they seal and have put some air in the one I repaired this afternoon and will let it sit for a week or so to make sure it holds air…if it works, I won’t have to buy another tube for a year or so…even more since I only get a couple of flats a year with the tube protectors in…okay, want to read a bit before tv…

How do you feel, reporters?
Well…after the kinda shooting that happened this weekend that sent tuxedo and ball gown clad reporters diving under tables, my question is: how do you feel reporters? How do you feel to experience what our children do every damn day in their classrooms? Is it serious now that you biased assholes are threatened? I can see the headlines now…thoughts and prayers go out to the people at the WHCD who were kinda threatened by a shooter that never got closer than 50 yards from them…but it was still the most traumatic thing that ever happened to them…how the hell do you think a 6 year old feels after an “active shooter drill” at their kindergarten? Or if an actual shooter invades their school and kills some of their friends? They will never get over it and it will scar them for life but it’s more important to keep the 2nd amendment crazies happy than protect our children…I live in the real world and have no delusions that anything will ever be done to stop the carnage in this country…and it’s the repubs to blame…geez…
April 27th
Well…that was a little better…not out of bed til 5:15 and I wonder when that became a win? I do feel okay this morning and need to get started soon…I did pour the first cup of coffee and it should be working soon so I can get on the weight work and get the indoor ride in…it should be warm enough to go out for a ride around 10 or so and that will set me up for getting some work done around here…I really do need to clean my bedroom today since the dust has gotten pretty thick in there and I need to put the clothes away that are sitting on my chair…and I really do need to clean the bathroom, too, and that needs to be done before Man U plays at 3…and I’d love to wedge some reading in but I’m not sure when that would be…it’s going to be cold the next few days with the highs barely getting to 50 and lows in the 30’s and I’m hoping there’s not another freeze…going to put the winter clothes away today just to get the dining room cleaned up and I hope I don’t have to dig them out again…I mean 50 degrees in May…still no spring here and that sucks…more later…
21 miles today…
Well…I did finally get outdoors on the bike today but had to wait til after lunch until it was warm enough to go out in shorts…got a nice ride in and now it’s time for Talladega and more reading…the dredges are back off my beach today and it appears they are going to do the channel into Muskegon Lake again and make my beach a lot bigger…I did find the tube protectors for the bike that I was looking for and I didn’t really have to look farther than the unmounted tires sitting next to the skeleton of the black bike…and there is a good tube with sealer sitting there so I don’t have to use my last new tube…I really should get off my butt and repair the 8 tubes I have waiting for patches that I have…didn’t clean at all today and with the race starting, I won’t get to any today….oh, well…
Under the radar…
Well…this story kind of flew under the radar last week but it’s pretty important…last week, a judge ruled that the idiot trump can be held civilly responsible for what he did to incite the attacks on January 6th…and that got around the bogus immunity that the SC gave him since the judge ruled that idiot boy was campaigning and not performing his “official” duties…so that means the lawsuits from everyone involved who were damaged in the attack can go forward and estimates say that idiot boy is on the hook for billions of dollars…whether the SC will allow the suits to go forward is another matter since they do everything they can to protect the idiot all day, all the time…if they do go forward, I can’t wait for discovery to happen when trump and his cronies will have to turn over all evidence they have of his wrongdoing…and he is going to hate that…geez…
April 26th
Well…slept a little better last might and didn’t get out of bed til 5:30 or so but that is going to go backwards tonight and that sucks…didn’t get much done yesterday and today will be the same with it only 43 degrees out there and that means I won’t get on the outdoor bike until at least 11am…still wearing long pants on the bike and it’s almost May…and still riding the indoor bike and that is just wrong…we have had no spring here and I wonder if it will be one of those years where we go straight into summer? I know I’m damn tired of the cold…and now the heat just came on…cripes…have been feeling really worn out lately and I’m not sure why the heck that would be…have been eating more…three meals yesterday and yet I feel like crap this morning so maybe that’s not it…I do have to find where the tube protectors went from the black bike since I’ll need one for the replacement wheel so I’ll take that front tire apart today and see if there is one in it…not much to do today…I should clean but I think I’ll just read instead…but I need to get off my butt and get the weight work started…more later…
Have the parts…
Well…I was a little curious if I had a tire and tube on hand in the cupboard downstairs and I do! So I can set that wheel up as soon as I clean it up…and I even have the Rust Oleum satin black paint to paint it with so all I have to do is get off my butt and get it done…sounds like a project for this week and I’ll probably put it on the bike when I get it done since the one on the bike is a little warped with the 2 broken spokes I’ve had to replace the past few weeks…so, yay! What a pleasant surprise…
No new bike this year…
Well…after having to spend 400 bucks on a new lawnmower the past couple of weeks, I’m going to put off buying a new bike til next year…and the reason for that has something to do with me discovering that I didn’t toss the wheels from my first mountain bike, a Motobecane, and I looked at them this morning and the rear wheel I need is perfectly straight and the ratchet works perfectly so that will give me one to use if the one I have on the bike fails…but it will have to be painted since it is a shiny aluminum with shiny spokes that won’t match the front wheel…and I’m going to buy a new tube and tire to fit that up since I’ll need it by the end of summer and it will be nice to have it ready to go…I do need to find an axle and grease the bearings since the wheel has almost 34K miles on it and has been sitting for 10 years…so that’s one less thing to worry about…
How can this be?
Well…after poll after poll shows that people hate repubs but hate the dems, too, and I wonder how this can be…I mean look at the parties and tell me that there is no difference between them…the repubs murder American citizens and steal everything that not nailed down while they start wars and cause huge inflation that is killing people while they try to take away your rights and healthcare…can you ever say that you’ve seen the dems do that? The national debt under the repubs has exploded to the tune of a trillion dollars a month from giving tax cuts to the rich while the average cut for the middle class is under 400 bucks a year. All of which has been eaten up by tariffs and higher gas prices…have you ever seen the dems do that? The dems protect people and try to make their lives better and move the country forward…every damn piece of legislation that has made the everyday American’s life better came from the dems…and yet people hate the dems…people in this country are either really stupid or have been taken in by repub propaganda since they own all of the media…I’ve had enough of this bullshit…geez…
April 25th
Well…running late this morning with not getting out of bed til almost 6 and there is a reason for that that I’m not proud of…was feeling so damn worn out yesterday after getting the 26 miles in that all I could do was sit here and read…okay, after I cooked the pork shoulder and did the laundry…so I guess being worn out didn’t stop me much but I felt like crap…and still do today..it’s only 43 here right now so I guess I’ll have to do an indoor ride this morning after I get the weight work in…should be able to get outdoors for a ride before lunch…I do need to eat more today after only having a plate of pork for lunch and then a sandwich for dinner…and that is not enough to support 26 miles on the bike…so I’ll have a bagel here in a minute and get off my butt and get going…really do need to pack the winter clothes away but if I do that it will probably snow…it is going to get down into the 30’s again this week and that is way too cold for May…more later…
