Well…man, I’m sore from riding in the wind yesterday but I slept okay so I’ll take that…didn’t get up once over night but climbed out of bed before 6am and, as I’ve bitched about before, I would like to sleep in just one more time before I die…it is going to be warm enough to go out in shorts this afternoon and I’m wondering if I should delay the third ride to take advantage of that? I probably will but I do need to find some time to read today so I can hit the library tomorrow…not going to make potato soup today since I still have leftovers for another two days so I’ll probably put that back til Sat and that means I’ll have to figure out two new meals and get the ingredients out of the freezer…have already gotten one treatment of the eyes done and they feel pretty good…or they don’t hurt so that’s cool…going to do the first ride indoors and the 2nd one will still be in full thermasuit since it’s only in the 20′s right now and still in the 30′s around 9am when I hope to get out for the first ride…the wind is down to about 7 today and I hope that holds all day…not much to do today…just the rides since I did laundry earlier in the week and don’t have a lot of cleaning to do…need to feed the sourdough starters so I can make bread in a few days…more later….

Well…the eye is making progress already after only one day of the washing/warm compress treatment and I have to do it one more time today along with adding the medicine for the eyelids for a couple of weeks…so, a good result so far…man, the wind was so bad coming back from the only outdoor ride today that I couldn’t get over 10 no matter how hard I pedaled…25 mph with gusts to 35 all the way back and I tweaked my right knee I had to pedal so hard…so then I did the third ride indoors but I didn’t get that done until after one so I didn’t get much reading done…and want to get back to that soon…I am still confused on how I can gain weight on the calories I eat…I mean today I had a hot dog and a handful of chips for lunch and then one chicken thigh and cooked cabbage for dinner…and that would be about 400 calories for lunch and 300 for dinner and I should be losing like crazy with doing 3 rides a day and burning 1,800 calories doing it…I know I’ve been putting muscle on my upper body that I can see when I look in the mirror but who knows how much that would be…oh, well…need to clean my eyelashes again…

Well…just did the math and I’ve done 510 days in a row on the bike and that may be an accomplishment but I’m not sure of that…out of bed at 6:15 and need to get on the bike by 7:30 or so but there is no rush since I have to pick up a prescription today and the pharmacy doesn’t open til 9am…and I’m no good at waiting…going to try to do two rides outdoors but that is going to depend on the wind as it did yesterday…I had them cancel the March 24th doctor appointment since it was just to check my blood pressure and they did that yesterday so I don’t have another on until April 1st when we get started on the dental work…I am so damn tired of having doctor and dental appointments…only have one more book to read so I may be at the library Friday to have something to read over the weekend…the warmup is going to hit tomorrow and I’ll be out in shorts for three days but then it goes back down into the 40′s for a few…going to be a roller coaster for high temps but keeping it above freezing will be nice…not much to do today…just the grocery run and rides and will have to do some meal planning and figure out how to use the potatoes before they spoil….more later…

Well…yeah, that title is accurate…I’ve been up since 4:09, lying in bed with my emotions running wild and that happens more and more as I get older and older…had “The Southern Cross” by CSN running through my head and it is so cool that I can just talk to my phone and it will play…and I followed that up with “The Lee Shore” and”Triad” from “4 Way Street” and realized that it was 55 years ago when I first heard that album and it turned out to be a really important thing to me….as a lot of music is….yeah, I’m rambling at 4:53 and I think there is something important to say but I don’t know what it is right now….it feels like my time is getting short and I don’t know what to do about it…maybe go back to bed and try to sleep….feel just so damn worn out and I am tired of having to “get going” every damn day….but I’ll keep doing that as long as I can….what else is there to do?

Well…damn, it was a weird, weird day today and I started it out with an outdoor ride as soon as the sun came up but he wind came up to 20-30 by the time I got back so the bike went back in the garage and I rode indoors…then my eye really got bad so I called the doctor and they got me in but didn’t have the equipment to even try to diagnose what was going on so they made an appointment for an eye doctor that I had to be at at 3:10…one good thing was it was warm enough to put the top down one the car so that was cool…so after being at the eye doctor for an hour and a half, while they did a full exam and found no cataracts or glaucoma and that my vision is still pretty good, they did find some inflammation in my eyelids and eyes so they gave me a prescription for steroid eye drops to help get the inflammation down and also gave a me instructions where I have to wash my eyelids with baby shampoo twice a day to get the pores cleaned out and then put a warm compress on for five minutes on my eyes after that…again, twice a day…and that just adds to the daily maintenance this old body needs and now it’s 6:30pm and I am tired of going all day…so now I start the last book until tv starts at 7pm…

Well…up at 4:40 this morning but I was able to lie back down til a little after 6 and I guess I’ll have to take it…I really tried to eat more yesterday but I’m not sure if I was successful or not…stir fry chicken and rice for lunch and then a chicken thigh and cooked cabbage for dinner…I know dinner was only 250 calories and I know that the stir fry was not 750 calories so I was under 1,000 for the day and I can’t keep that up…so, I think I’ll make some peanut butter toast this morning….going to do three outdoor rides today for the first time this year since it is already 40 out there and that’s plenty warm to go out…but that means waiting until it gets light at around 8am and that is harder than it looks…I did get two loads of laundry done yesterday but today looks easier with only having to put the grocery list together and a little cleaning…and I’m really enjoying the David Baldacci novel I’m reading and it’s nice to add another author to the list…will probably head to the library later in the week for 4 more books…I don’t think I’ve ever read as much as I’m doing now and want to keep that up as long as I can but I’m running out of authors…these people have to get off their butts and write some more…not much to do today…I do need to figure out how to use the two bags of potatoes I still have so there may be some soup made this week….more later…

Well…another 33 mile day but it was a lot of work when my legs went completely flat at the start of the 2nd outdoor ride…then I remembered that I really didn’t eat much yesterday and that’s probably it…oh, and yesterday, coming down the hill from the beach, a turkey was standing in the middle of the trail looking right at me and didn’t move until I was about a foot away and then it just barely moved enough for me to get by….and the funny thing is that he was standing in a traffic lane in the same area and wouldn’t move for cars that were backed up and honking their horns at him..so one guy got out of the car and tried to shoo him over to the side but all the turkey did was stand there and make turkey noises at him…the cars then drove around him in the other lane…funniest damn thing I’ve seen in quite a while…didn’t do much else today but read and 2 loads of laundry and I need to make the bed since I washed the bedding today…then on to more reading…
