Well…just want to do a short one on the State of the Union address that Joe Biden did last night…and all I can say is wow! I think it was easily the best one he’s ever done and he toyed with the repubs through the whole thing…getting them to promise to not cut SS or Medicare…but we know they are liars so you can’t believe they will keep their word…he did a great job of making people understand the accomplishments of his administration and that is borne out in the polls taken afterward that showed the approval for it at a whopping 72%….and even almost 50% of repubs approved of it…but that didn’t stop the trolls like MTG yelling at Joe while he was doing the speech…acting like the spoiled little toddlers they are…I hope that the people on our side understand that Joe would still be the strongest candidate for 2024…he’s not senile, he’s not “losing it”…yeah, he is 80 but damn what a speech…
February 8th
Well…damn, that sucked…woke up at 3:04 and then tossed and turned for 3 hours until I gave up at 6:23…I am so damn worn out that I may not get on the bike today but we’ll see later…it’s going to be a chore to do the grocery run today and I can’t get to that until 8:30 with needing to get some allergy meds but the pharmacy doesn’t open til 9 so I’ll hit Aldis first….and the means a run over to Sternberg road today since the Aldis over there opens at 8:30….I think I need to take a day off soon and just take it easy but it’s easier to just stay on schedule….didn’t get a lot done yesterday but I do need to do laundry today and cook…making some chicken legs for lunch and I need to figure out if I’m staying with the one meal a day or if I’m having two…it feels like my energy level is pretty low from only eating one yesterday so I’m not sure if it’s sustainable….I wonder if spring is coming early this year with all of the snow melting yesterday and no sub freezing temps in the forecast for the next 10 days….haven’t had any birds on the feeder for the past few days and that is a little strange…have had flocks of them this winter and it has been pretty entertaining…not much to do today…just the grocery run and laundry but how I feel right now, that will be enough…more later…
Had work to do today…
Well…when I got off the bike for the first ride, I had some work to do over at mastodon since it had gotten very political in my feed and I didn’t want that…I did remember that the changes happened when I followed a few people that appeared to do nothing but boost posts all day long which cluttered up my feed…after unfollowing them, it is back to what I wanted it for…to talk to people and see what other people are doing in their lives…I did get the second ride in and, with having toast with peanut butter early, I’m only going to have one meal today….so I have the dishes done and only have to set up the coffee maker for tomorrow morning….just wrote checks for another 600 bucks today for my house insurance and electric bill and that brings the spending to 1600 bucks out of the 5 grand I’m going to spend by the end of the month…and that’s extra outlay over and above the normal bills so I guess the electric bill shouldn’t be included….
State of the Union…
Well…it’s almost 1 and I am now just getting things done so I could come here and do a political one…with the State of the Union address happening tonight, the crazy assed repubs are telegraphing the stupid crap they are going to do to try to respond to the good things Joe Biden is going to be able to say about the economy tonight…the moron McCarthy has already said he is going to make a big show of tearing up his copy of the speech just like Nancy did with the idiot trump’s lie filled rant and that is the only thing he is going to be able to do….Joe has accomplished more for the country in two years than any other president in history…and the economy is still humming along adding hundreds of thousands of jobs so now adding jobs and rising pay is now a bad thing? Yep, they’re going to go down that road but they know that they are only playing to their base so they can lie all they want…and I’ll bet the Chinese balloon will get worked in there somehow like it’s the biggest scandal in history…I guess what I’m saying is that watching the response to the speech will be a waste of time…geez…
February 7th
Well..damn, I feel like crap this morning and my head is plugged up and can barely breathe…my allergies are flaring up and there is no reason for it that I can think of….didn’t sleep well at all and I’m in slow mode again today…with barely enough energy to sit here let alone get on the bike…but I will, not for a while but I will….had an okay day yesterday and got a few things done but just vegging out is looking pretty attractive right now….okay, that’s enough of that….heard from C last night and he is leasing out his farm for a huge solar panel installation that is going to pay him a bunch of cash so that is really cool….it was nice to hear from him since there are very few people from the old group that I still have contact with…it’s already 43 degrees outside but there is a gale warning on with winds of 30-40 mph and gusts of 50 today so I think a lot of the snow will melt….and it’s been raining some so that should help, too….was thinking of taking the bike out but with those winds that is not going to happen….not much to do today…going to need to get moving soon but I don’t want to….if I can force myself to get on the bike, I’ll consider that a success for the day….more later…
Got some stuff done today…
Well…it’s actually been kind of a busy day today with getting back to the normal routines and that felt good…got two rides in this morning, and in between them I ran out to menards to pick up the LED paddle lights that I had a rain check for…2-8,000 lumen ones for 10 bucks…they will light up my work area downstairs like crazy and that will be cool when I get back to work on this place…the I got the second ride in and made some lunch and after that I cleaned the kitchen, did the dishes, and a few more little things that kept me working til 3…my daughter texted me and told me she is sending me a new suitcase for the UK trip…I guess she thinks my 40 year old/green target ones are kind of worn out…and they are…and she sent me a list of all of the old folks ride services that I can use when I get my teeth worked on in a couple of weeks…will look at the list tomorrow and see if I can get on the schedule…I really do want to try to ride outdoors this week but my house is still surrounded by ice and I don’t want to dump the bike and get hurt so we’ll see….it’s supposed to rain tonight so maybe that will melt the ice…okay, I’m done for the day….
Can they be any more ridiculous?
Well…I guess now it’s all balloon all the time with the ridiculous repubs…and my question is: “Can they get any more ridiculous?” The answer to that is yes…let’s back up a bit in case you didn’t read the news the past few days…there has been a spy balloon from China floating over Canada and the US the past week or so and the repubs were just freaking out about it…whining and crying that Joe Biden wasn’t doing anything about it even going so far as on repub house member threatening to impeach Biden for his allowing the balloon to continue collecting information and not shooting it down as soon as it was seen…other repubs told their followers to get their guns and try to shoot it down themselves…which is really stupid given that the balloon was the size of a stadium and floating at 65,000 feet in the air…but no one ever accused the repubs of being too bright…so, after the balloon floated over the ocean, Biden sent the Air Force in with an F-22 and shot it down where it wouldn’t do any damage when it fell…and after that, it was revealed that the Air Force had jammed the signals so no information could be sent back to China and we were able to read the signals and analysts are working on the data to see just what the balloon was for….oh, and the kicker? The idiot trump had three of these go over the US and did nothing…no signal jamming, no shooting them down, no nothing…and the loud mouths who are attacking Biden knew about them…didn’t hear them bitching then…geez…
February 6th
Well…running a little late today with waking up at 5:04 but then going back to sleep until 6:36…laid in bed for what felt like an hour but it was only 9 minutes and I finally crawled out at 6:45…feels like I slept an hour or so and that is going to make getting going a chore today….at least it didn’t snow overnight so I can run an errand this morning…need to run out to Menards to get a couple of paddle lights that I have a raincheck for….8,000 lumen lights that are only 4.99…not sure where I’ll use them but for 5 bucks each? Can’t pass that up….and it will be nice to get out of here for a while….I feel pretty irritated with myself after skipping the second meal yesterday and not riding the bike…I made popcorn for a snack last night with real butter and that must be 600 calories or so…so I am going to do two rides today and I’m not looking forward to it…just can’t get motivated but I think I can survive it if I go into slow mode and just put one foot in front of the other….not much to do today…just need to get the rides in and then the errand but that will be it for the day….just feel worn out and want to just sit here and have coffee….more later….
Damn, I’m a slug…
Well…running so damn late today and I even forgot to come here until right now…took the entire day off and didn’t even get on the bike and I should have…but, I did compensate by only eating one meal today but I will do better tomorrow…I’ll even do a political one or two…just have lost my discipline with finding out I’ve got health problems to face for the entire month…and longer, maybe the rest of the year…who knows? At least it didn’t snow today so I guess that’s something, but the birds stayed away and with the clouds of Juncos I’ve had that’s a little weird…did feel pretty crappy today and sore but that’s from riding yesterday….I may get some walking in this week since it’s not going to snow and it is going to be over 30…I do need to break my new shoes in….
February 5th
Well…running a little late this morning with getting out of be at 6:43 and then running out to get the paper…it looks like a bunch of the snow is going to melt today with the temp getting up to almost 40 today and I’m okay with that…I think I slept okay last night but I’m still pretty worn out and I’m not sure if I’m getting on the bike today…or if I’m going to just do one ride…not thinking that far in the future….the rides yesterday were a chore and way too much work so I’m not ready to decide yet….had an okay day yesterday and I did get my kitchen sinks cleaned and drain cleaner down the drains but that was about it….and today will be much the same with the motivation I feel right now….not too sore today other than my right thumb that the skin split the other day and that is strange with keeping them lotioned all the time….I guess that just getting old since my entire right palm is shiny from having it in soap and water when cleaning…not much to do today…I think I may take the day off today or just do one ride….after having 3 weeks off the bike, it was kind of nice to just do what I want instead of having a schedule….so I’m going to sit here and have one more cup of coffee before I decide anything….more later…
