Well…there are so many things that people need to remember for the election in three weeks…I’ll list a few of them here..first what party wants to give more tax cuts to the rich and pay for them by taxing the middle class? Yep, you guessed it, the repubs…second, who wants to take away a woman’s right to control her body and her healthcare? Yay…you got two right, the repubs, of course…Who is the party that is doing it’s best to make sure your neighbors and mine can’t vote? Three for three, the repubs…the last one is just a general thing…who are the people who lie like rugs every time the open their mouths? That’s 100%…the repubs again…how can this election even be close? Geez….

October 20th
Well…getting an early start today and I think it’s just because I’m bored already…and I’m waiting for the Spurs/Chelsea match to start…I’ve even gotten some homemade bread rising in the oven…had to do that to have something to eat around here…no cash coming in so I’ve had to be creative…okay, the match has started so I’m going to go watch..more later…
okay..it took lots longer to come back today and I really don’t have much to add to this one..I did get bombed by some damn bird that had been eating berries when I was on the bike today and it left stains on my knee that I still can’t get out…that’s about it for this one…going to do a political one right now as I watch the game…
The true republicans…
Well…just read of one of the most shameful things I’ve heard in a long time that exposes the true nature of today’s republican…I’m sure you know of the fake photo op where Paul Ryan forced his way into a St. Vincent DePaul’s homeless shelter and washed clean dishes to make it appear that he gives a damn about the poor…never mind that he has never visited one in his own district and has proposed a budget that would cut services to the poor, and now we have the thugs and troglodytes in the repub party blaming the shelter for the bad press that ole Ryan got….and going so far as withdrawing donations that the shelter depends on to survive and making threatening phone calls to the staff there…this is it folks, the clearest picture of what a country run by the repubs would look like…a vicious, winner take all society devoid of morals where the poor are ignored or pilloried for being poor…after all it’s their fault they are not rich…what a bunch of crap….geez…
One last thing…I’m sure that ole Paul can read the papers and listen to the news and knows what is going on and the pain is being caused by his actions…it’s time for him to step up and stop this nonsense, to tell his supporters that St. Vincents is doing good work in the community and to increase their donations…but that sound you hear is the silence of an amoral coward….
October 19th
Well…it’s 9:30 and today, I have an excuse for being so late…the cable has been down for some reason and I just got it back up again…and, I also had my coffee and read the papers while I waited so I don’t really feel that bad about being late…I did have a good day yesterday but lost at pool…but, anything that happened was overshadowed by the Tigers getting to the World Series and the long text conversation with T last night….almost too much fun and with the couple of cocktails, I am a little slow today…I did have dreams last night that included Steven Tyler and cats and my inability to text on my phone…that one is a repeater and I’m not sure what it is about…I’ll bet there is a site on the internet that does dream analysis…maybe I should go out and look? Not much to today…it looks like the rain is going to continue for most of the day so the bike ride may be out…I was out in the cold and rain yesterday and that was not much fun but “Sunken Condos” kept me going…and I think I will have to get to the spider sweep today…there are a few that are starting to concern me…more later…

Well…okay, I’m not even going to try to give you an excuse…even though I have one…the Tigers are going to the World Series! The game just got done and I am still wallowing in the win…so, this one is done….I’ll be back tomorrow to try to get back on track….it’s cocktail time…
October 18th
Well…running late again today…maybe I need to get some more discipline? Not sure about that but I do know I did have a bunch of stuff to get done before they come to work on my furnace today….and I did have to go out and get the papers…I’ve even stopped reading them in the middle to come here to do this but that’s okay, I needed another cup of coffee anyway…it was a pretty good day yesterday except for the Tigers getting rained out but that just gives me a game this aft….I am still sneezing and coughing but it must be allergies since I don’t think the bug is still with me…maybe the rain will help. Not much to do today…I am so broke that I need to just hang out here for a few days until some money comes in but I don’t know where that will come from yet…oh, well…more later…
Is Romney violating the law?
Well…I know I’ve been doing a bunch of these today but a new revelation on ole Mitt’s sketchiness surfaced on Twitter and I thought I’d write a short one about it. As you probably already know, there has been an epidemic of repub business owners telling their employees that they should vote for ole Mitt with dire consequences if they don’t, with one idiot in Florida telling his thousand employees that if Obama wins he is going to close the business and fire everyone. Ole Mitt was caught talking to donors and giving them the same advice, in direct violation of the 1965 voting rights act….so, he is either too stupid to understand that you can’t intimidate people to vote for you or he just doesn’t care…after all, laws don’t mean much to the repubs unless they can use them for their own benefit…geez…
A short one on oil leases…
Well…I just wanted to do a short one on the crap about oil and gas leases that ole Mitt tried to hit Obama with last night saying that the number of leases have gone down under Obama…but, he conveniently ignored the fact that the oil companies are sitting on over 7,000 leases right now that they certainly don’t plan on using any time soon…you can issue a million leases but if the oil companies like the supply and price the way it is (which they do), they will never do anything (like bringing more supply to market that will lower prices) to upset that balance that they now possess. The other fact that exists here that ole Mitt conveniently ignores is that any new supply can be sold into the world market to go to China or anywhere else…just like the tar sands oil that will come through the Keystone pipeline and it will have no effect on our energy independence. Unless, of course, ole Mitt would pass a law saying that any new supply must stay in North America…which he would never be allowed to do by his oil company masters…and, if by some miracle he grew a spine and passed such a law, the oil companies would just stop drilling here to maintain low supplies and high prices in their largest market. I know ole Mitt doesn’t show that he understands economics at all…but I learned this stuff in Econ 101 many years ago and still remember it…maybe he could go back to Harvard for some remedial classes? Geez…
Sunken Condos….
Well…just made a mad dash and spent the last of my cash,…with the top down, I headed across town, to the building with the ticket on the side, and found what I was wishing for…more from Donald and a few more…okay, I know, I’ll never be Donald Fagen but I had to do something special to celebrate the release of “Sunken Condos”, Donald’s new CD….I’m on my second run through it right now and find the themes of the songs at once the same as always but different…of course you have the old guy, young woman theme in “Slinky Thing”, how could he do a cd without a song about that? But there are twists and turns that are unexpected…in “I’m not the same without you” Donald turns the breakup song on it’s head with the breakup turning the protagonist into a superman who “grows an inch taller and has heroic escapades”. I won’t go into all of the songs, there are nine after all, but one last one I want to mention is “Memorabilia”…a song about the aftermath of the nuclear tests and even mentions one of the tests names “Castle Bravo” in it…how the hell does he come up with this stuff? It looks like, to me anyway, that Donald has done again what Donald does…slinky, funky music that has all the biting lyrics that we have come to expect…if you’re a Dan fan…give it a try…it’s already in the mp3 player for the bike ride tomorrow…
It’s all optics to the repubs…
Well…I found the article about ole Ryan’s visit to a soup kitchen yesterday so damn funny that I would laugh if it wasn’t so sick…the repubs using the poor as props as they always do and when the election is over they go back to destroying the programs that help them. If you didn’t read the article, ole Paul dropped in on a St. Vincent DePaul homeless kitchen unannounced and then, since there was no meal being served at the time, proceeded to go into the kitchen, put on an apron and pretend to wash dishes…dishes that were already cleaned but he made a huge show of “cleaning” them…what a pure ass this guy is..fake compassion is worse than no compassion…geez…
