Well…after the repubs lost everything here in Michigan when they couldn’t cheat, it is a little bit of fun listening to them pointing fingers at everyone but themselves…and they now have even started attacking the repubs who were at the top of the ticket saying they were not “quality” candidates…not that they are just the normal run of the mill maga candidates who had no ideas that anyone wanted…I mean the only reason that tudor dixon was their governor candidate was that betsy devos bought it for her…and all she did was spout that abortion rights would be gone if she was elected…and that was just so stupid with the constitutional amendment protecting those rights polling at nearly 70%…so she gave up all those votes for no reason at all…or just to keep the maga assholes happy…and that was the problem all the way down the ticket…and look at john gibbs who beat pete meijer in the primary…this said that women shouldn’t even have the right to vote and that was just fine with the repub primary voters…here’s the thing I’ve been harping on for quite a while now…if the vote is fair in Michigan, as it now has to be with gerrymandering essentially outlawed, we will win since they are more of us than repubs…and we have ideas for making the state better and the repubs only have hate to run on…and we’re tired of that crap…and that showed election day…yee ha…
6 hours of work…
Well…after waking up exhausted this morning and thinking I was going to take it a little easy, I did the stupid thing I always do and got started as soon as the sun came up and got the first ride in with the brutal wind out there…then out to run an errand, back here to do the leaves that took over two hours and I filled 8 more bags…thought I was going to have to go out and get more bags but I had exactly enough room in the bags to finish them up…then a quick lunch and back on the bike for the second ride where the wind was even more brutal than this morning…and that meant 6 hours of busting my butt and now I’m going to take it easy for the rest of the day…after getting the leaves done, my back froze up completely and I couldn’t move for a good minute…so I did take some ibuprofen before I got on the bike and it appears to have helped…so now I need to find a topic to do in politics…so, more later…
November 11th
Well…man, I’m tired this morning…up at 5:41 and then out of bed at 6:41…and I need to get going but don’t want to…today starts the cold weather and it’s supposed to snow later tonight…so that means I need to do the leaves today even though the big tree hasn’t dropped it’s leaves yet…but I’m going to hope the wind will blow them away…so it may be a one ride day today and I’ll be in full thermasuit or almost full thermasuit since it’s only 50 out there and the temp is going to drop all day…didn’t get anything done yesterday but cook the big meal so I do need to get a few things done today…and need to have it all done before the F1 finale in Brazil later in the afternoon….it has been a pretty crappy season and I’ve kind of lost interest in it but it will give me something to pass the time….the wind is going to blow 10-20 today but it’s only about 8 right now so I need to get out as soon as it’s light….not much to do today…might have to make a run out to daily deals to get some summer sausage that is on sale for 2 bucks a pound and that would go good with cheese and crackers for a snack…I know it’s bad for me but I’m to the point where I just don’t give a damn anymore….so that will have to happen after the first ride and before I get to the leaves…and then it will be the start of hibernation season where I should be working on the house…but I’m not going to…just don’t feel like it….more later….
They went too far…
Well…I think one of the reasons we now have abortion rights and voting rights enshrined in the constitution here in Michigan was that repubs went too far in trying to take those rights away…and with the overwhelming wins of those two proposals, it just shows that the repubs were never really governing for anyone but their base…and there are not enough voters in their base to win a fair election like the one we just had with the districts drawn by the independent commission that again, we voters had to enshrine in our constitution with the repubs cheating in every damn election with the worst gerrymander in the entire US. And we also saw the repubs fixation on taking rights away from the LGBTQ community and election denying were not winning strategies since they lost both the house and senate Tuesday. That’s as it should be…for 40 years the dems have had many more votes cast in every election but the repubs cheated to keep control of Michigan and ram their hate, stupidity, and religion down everyone’s throats…but those days are over for at least two years and I am excited to see what the dems can do to fix the damage the repubs did here…I would suggest a tax on the rich for starters and no more giveaways to business…wouldn’t that be nice?
This never happened before…
Well…after trying for years, I finally had a patched tube last through two rides and that has never happened before…I think the farthest I’ve ever gone on a patched tube was about a mile and most times they would leak out all the air even before I got the wheel back on the bike…so now it will be interesting to see how long it will last before the tire goes flat again…I did hurt myself again today with the wind blowing a good 15 out here but it was a good hurt being back on the bike after the day off yesterday…and I did get the big turkey meal in the oven and on the stove and will be eating here in a half hour or so…and after the very little food I had yesterday, I am hungry today and can’t wait to eat…and then there is the clean up after and my plan is to get that done before Man U comes on at 3….not sure if I’ll do leaves today…I guess we’ll see how I feel after I get everything else done….I could do them tomorrow since it’s not supposed to rain til Saturday…more later…
November 10th
Well…boy, I’m worn out today…I think getting two teeth removed took a lot out of me yesterday and I’m still feeling it today…but my mouth doesn’t hurt much today so I’ll take that as a plus…just turned the turkey in the brine and spilled it all over the fridge and that sucks…but even the brine smells good so I have hope that it is going to turn out okay…just remembered to take a stick of butter out to soften it so I can make some rosemary butter to slather it in and put under the breast skin….going to eat like a lion today and I’ll probably be uncomfortable later…doing the entire t-day meal today with stuffing and green bean casserole and that will make leftovers for the next week…didn’t eat much yesterday so I can lay it on today…need to get out on the bike here in a few minutes and I hope the repaired tube in the back wheel holds up so I can get two rides in this morning….and Man U plays at three so I hope to get the meal done before then…but I need to get the two rides in so I can start getting the sides done for the meal before noon….I am enjoying reading the books I got from the used book sale…have already done a Patricia Cornwell and Jonathan Kellerman and I’m going to start another Cornwell today….helps to pass the time without watching tv all day…not much to do today…just the rides and cooking but I really should get to the leaves today, too but I’m not sure I’ll have time…it’s the last warm day of the year and I should be outside to enjoy it…there is snow in the forecast but that doesn’t bother me…it’s November in Michigan and you need to expect that….more later…
Not allowed to ride today…
Well…after I got back here from the dentist, I did what I normally don’t do…read the after procedure instructions and one of the surprises I found in them was a prohibition of any strenuous activity…and the way I ride the bike is pretty darn strenuous so I decided to take the day off the bike and just do some reading instead…one good thing that happened was that the bleeding stopped before I even got home since I had to go out to run an errand and hit aldis and two Meijers…but I was able to get butter at aldis for 2.45 a pound and I had to go to a second Meijers to get a spare tube for the bike…and they had the bike tires that I like and I got one of those since the rear that I have on the bike is wearing out and has about 15 holes in it……I was even able to eat something and it didn’t hurt or start my mouth bleeding so I’ll probably be able to have turkey tomorrow…I did put a repaired tube back in the back wheel and have checked it a couple of times today and it looks to be holding air so I can get out on the bike tomorrow…removing that loose tooth has made my bite right for the first time in years so I’ll take that for now…the problem I’m having is that I didn’t plan for meals today but I do have a box of mac and cheese I could make up and that is pretty soft and won’t hurt to eat…or maybe just some pasta…that might work….we’ll see…
Good for Michigan….
Well…just got back from getting two teeth pulled and thought I’d do one of these with probably the only bit of good news about the election…the voters of Michigan…man, you gotta love them as they turned out in force for dems and turned control of the entire government over to the dems for the first time in 40 years…yep the entire damn government here is no longer going to be run by the election denier maga repubs who lost here big time…and that is due to the fair redistricting that was enshrined in the constitution by a vote of the people in 2020 so the repubs can no longer cheat…but the repubs did win the house so we are in for nothing but bullshit for the next two years…now, the dems still have control for two months so we can still get a few things done…still not going to read much news for a while yet unless trump gets indicted…and I need that to happen right now…
November 9th
Well…still not looking at any election results but I did see that Prop 3 passed protecting women’s rights here in Michigan and governor Whitman was elected to a second term….I did see that Fetterman beat the carpetbagger Oz in Pennsylvania so that was a bit of good news…but a sense of dread is still hanging over me and I’m not going to get over that for a few days…I did wake up at 5:40 this morning and I’ve already been down to install one of the repaired tubes in the back tire of the bike but I don’t really have much hope that the repair is going to hold…so I’m going to go to Meijers after I have the teeth pulled and see if I can get another new one….and I do need to hit aldis to get butter they have on sale for 2.39 a pound and another package of brown and serve rolls since I am going to need soft food for the next couple of days…and a loaf of bread for sandwiches….I am sore from going into the wind with the flat yesterday and I am going to be even more sore from having the teeth extracted later and I’m not sure if I’m going to ride the inside bike today…I need a day off…not sure what I’m going to eat today….not going to roast the turkey until tomorrow and I don’t have any leftovers in the fridge…but I don’t feel like eating anything…should probably have some toast here in a minute to settle my stomach and have some calories to run on today but I don’t feel like it….it’s going to be a long, crappy day today and I just want it to be over….more later…

Well…as you’ve probably figured out, I am still isolated from the news and won’t be doing a political one today…just can’t even check at all because I have a bad feeling about it…so let’s just talk about the next damn thing that happened to me today…as I started to wind down for the day, I decided to go downstairs to check on the rear tire that I repaired and the damn thing was flat…and when I took the tube out it had a cut in it about a quarter inch long and I have no damn clue how that happened other than it just failed…have had that happen before but it wasn’t on a seam so I am confused…so, I took a couple of older tubes and put patches on them and am going to try one of those tomorrow as I try to recover from having two teeth removed…my life sucks right now and that is before I know anything about the elections….I just want this crap to end….
