Well…up too damn early at 5:31 and don’t feel like I’ve slept at all so it will be a grind to get going…but I will as I always do…going to have a bagel before I get on the bike and lots more coffee…not too sore today and I really hope I’ve eaten enough to support it after running out of energy on the second ride yesterday…it only got down to 77 overnight and I can feel the humidity as I sit here pouring the coffee down…didn’t get much done but read yesterday and I have one more day of leftovers so I don’t have to cook today…just got a high wind warning on the widget that is going to be here by noon but I’ll be long done with the rides by then and I’ll have to remember to do the weight work before it gets too hot…Wrexham plays in a few minutes but I won’t be able to watch much of it since I do need to get on the bike…soon there will be soccer on every Saturday and Sunday so that will give me something to have on in the background…not much to do today…just need to get the rides in and then wing it from there…and start a new book…more later…

Nationwide business boycott…
Well…just read about this over on Kos and thought I’d pass it along…there is a nationwide business boycott scheduled for tomorrow August 9th…and I am going to participate no buying anything, no fast food, no shopping on Amazon, no travel, no nothing…I am tired of getting screwed by business as they support the thug in the WH and my part will be small but I will do my part…everyone else should, too…geez…
Still a little sore…
Well…I really did think the pain from the crash yesterday was going to last a few days but it’s already getting better and I may be pain free by Sunday if I stay on this trajectory…fingers crossed…I did go out and get bagels and cream cheese to try in my new toaster and I really like that cheap little thing…nice even toasting and it even has a cancel button on the front that pops it up if you need it to…it is even wide enough to fit a Thomas’s really thick bagel with space left over…so it’s a deal for 15 bucks…I did get out to the beach and got a swim in and that was fun…there were even some waves to play in…still damn hot here at 87 degrees and if this keeps up, I’ll probably wear my tower fan out before summer is over…it only got down to 76 last night and the humidity was in the mid 90′s when I went out for the first ride…I really crashed after the second ride and it took me half hour and eating something to recover from it…so I tried to do better today with the bagel and cream cheese, some chicken casserole, and then breakfast for dinner…and I may have a snack later…and I’m going to switch over to martinis tonight just for a change ans see how that works out…more reading…
Oh, Canada…
Well…just read an interesting article about what Canada is doing to divorce themselves from the US economically and all I can say you go hosers…they have organized boycotts of everything American starting with beer, wine, and spirits and since Canada is our largest trading partner for those goods it is already hurting the industry with the CEO of Jack Daniels calling the boycott “worse than tariffs” and warning of looming losses that will decimate their bottom line…and some Canadian provinces have even banned the sale of American booze…and there are spreading boycotts of American fast foods that are causing the heads of those companies to warn that they may have to close their restaurants if the boycotts become widespread and effective which they appear to be…and the move to shift Canada away from American goods is accelerating since “the US is no longer a stable trading partner…and it’s all due to the idiot trump…and this relationship is gone and we’ll never get it back…I predict bankruptcies of American companies who depend on trade by the end of the year…GM has already lost 3 billion dollars due to the stupid tariffs and the rest of the automakers are going to report the same…this is what happens when you put a moron in charge of the economy…geez…
August 8th
Well…damn, it never got under 76 last night and I’m already sweating through my clothes and we are heading for almost 90 again today…this damn heat is wearing me out and I really need it to cool off some…still pretty sore today and I’m going to test it here by 7am but I need coffee first…thinking about going out after the rides to get some bagels and cream cheese to try out the new toaster that came yesterday…and the new shaver is cheap feeling but works well…the trip to Ada and back was just so easy with the car fixed but damn, a hundred miles to shoot pool? That’s a bit much and got me to almost 1,000 miles since I got the car…it looks like it’s going to be an easy day today after I get the rides in…don’t have to cook with leftovers of chicken and breakfast food to eat today…and I may have bagels to add to that…okay, just had to put the fan on and it’s before 6:30am and that sucks…I do like the heat but a few cool down days would be nice for a change…more later…
Watch “South Park”
Well…if you haven’t seen the latest season of “South Park” that started last week, you really should be…no one else has the guts to take on the idiot trump and his cronies and tell the truth about the pedophile in chief and his incompetent bunch of fascists…and they do it with style and wit that made me laugh out loud…and they take on jd vance, portraying him as an ass kissing baby…speaking of jd, news just came out that he ordered a water release on a river that was low from drought so he and his family could go boating on it…and the secret Service lied their asses off saying it had to have the water released since it was “dangerous”…how about this? Just don’t go boating…see how easy that is? You don’t need to waste millions of gallons of scarce water just so this selfish prick can have his family fun…what a stupid piece of shit…geez…
I’m injured…
Well…I injured myself on the bike this morning…when I was passing another biker at full sprint this morning, he swerved right in front of me and I had a choice to make…either t-bone him at 20 mph or lay the bike down in the sand and rocks next to the trail…so I laid it down and injured my whole left side…the handlebar stabbed my left knee and left a nice round bruise and my elbow hit a rock and it bled all the way back here and it hurts like crazy so there will be a bruise there later today…and my upper ribcage and lower back are already painful so I took an ibuprofen to head that off…I just wish the idiots on the trail would pay attention…I’m tired of doing it for everyone…
August 7th
Well…feel like crap this morning and I really don’t know why that would be…probably from not eating enough so I’ll have to eat something before I do the run out to Ada…up at 3:40 but stayed in bed til 5:35 and I don’t know how long I can do that…just getting old I guess….my allergies are bad this morning and they are just going to get worse this month…ick…it really sucks that I made bean coffee this morning and can’t taste it at all…life is pretty boring when you can’t taste anything…need to get on the bike by 7am so that give me about a half hour to get going and that seems like a daunting task right now…but I will suck it up and get moving since that’s what I do…I probably could have left this place open overnight with the low being around 70 and I’m already sweating through everything…just had an inkling of pain on the bike yesterday but my legs hurt already just sitting here so the rides will be painful today…not much to do today…just the library run after the rides and then out to Ada…but that seems a lot of work right now…more later…
Got a few things done…
Well…I really misjudged how much book I had left and just finished up the last of the 5 I got last week at about 2:30…I don’t even remember what I used to do before I got the reading bug but maybe I’ll clean a bit to fill the open time…so tomorrow I’ll have to hit the library before the run out to Ada and after I do the bike rides….was busy all morning with the rides, the grocery run, paying the water bill, and making a chicken casserole for lunch…no beach today since I really didn’t have time to get out there early before it got over 85 here and won’t be going out there until Friday if it doesn’t rain…only a 40% chance and it never rains here so I’ll plan on going out and try to get a swim in…but right now I am going to read some news and think about the blt for dinner…
Overperformance…
Well…I’m not sure if I’m going to make the leap from dems performance in special elections lately to the 2026 general but I will say I think people are getting damn tired of the repubs ruining this country…in a special election in RI for an open seat in congress, in a district the Kamala won by 11%, the dem won with over 83% of the vote to 16% for the repub…and that makes it a 56% over performance which is just stunning and follows up on many other special elections where the dams have won almost every time…even in red districts dems are winning or coming close to winning where they shouldn’t…and with the House repub election committee recommending that repub house members not hold any town halls after the debacles at the few they have held, you really can feel that there is change in the air…but our side needs to get better at messaging to inform the public that the ideas they like; protecting Medicare, Medicaid, and SS are dem ideas and the repubs only want to destroy everything good in this country…should be easy, huh? It’s not going to be and that’s what has me shaking my head…geez…
