Well…just a short one of remembrance for one of the terrible days from my youth…49 years ago today, 4 students were killed by the Ohio National Guard on the campus of Kent State University for doing nothing more than exercising their constitutional rights to protest the Vietnam war….this was a changing moment for me at 17 years old with the spectre of going to Vietnam hanging over my head and the blind allegiance to our country beginning to be questioned every day with the revelations of what was happening in our names. This may seem trite but Neil’s song still distills the event to me…”what if you knew her and found her dead on the ground?” The sad thing is this crap is still going on today in our communities of color….and I still feel the despair of that day…if these 4 students could be gunned down, then no one was safe anymore…

May 4th
Well…damn…I just want one night that I sleep…I know I bitch about that a lot but I remember sleep and it was a good thing…oh, well….almost made it 6 today and I guess that’s better than 5….I am sore this morning with doing a double on the bike yesterday and that is the plan for the day today, too….I am going to take something this morning for the pain since both shoulders now hurt and I think my left one is just the yearly pain that moves around each year to a different body part….at least it’s not my elbows this year…that was bad a couple of years back when I couldn’t pick anything up without screaming pain…okay, that’s enough about that…I did have an okay day yesterday and got a few things done…damn, just checked the Mega site and didn’t win 250 mil…but, I could win 300 mil on Tuesday so there is still hope….I do have to clean today but I’m not sure how much of that I’ll get done…still need to do the kitchen and vacuum and I think I can wedge that in between or after the bike rides today….more later…
Wasn’t going to do politics today…
Well…have had a long day today with getting out twice and doing 30 miles on the bike and I almost gave up on politics for the day…but, a short article I just read made me have to come here to do one…idiot boy is at it again with his “private” talks with Putin…and trump didn’t say one word to put Putin on the spot for his interference in the 2016 election or his continuing efforts to screw with the US in general…nope, idiot boy only wanted to talk about Mueller and his delusional belief that he was “exonerated”…and I bet Putin was just rolling his eyes and laughing internally about how well he did his job as the spy that he is and that trump is such a moron….who the hell talks to our greatest adversary like that? Putin probably patted little donnie on the head and said “good boy” when trump confirmed to him, again, that 2016 was one of Russia’s most successful intelligence coups in it’s history and that he is not going to do anything to stop the ongoing meddling….is this enough to impeach this ass? It sure should be…impeach…
May 3rd
Well…got all the way to 5:53 in bed this morning but tossed and turned all night with losing an ear plug at some point during the night…I am so used to the silence they afford that when I lose one my furnace sounds like a 747 taking off and that wakes me up all night…darn…slept on my right shoulder all night and that spiked the pain in it and I can barely move it right now…this happened even before I crashed on the bike so I’m not sure if it’s normal or not…just getting old I guess….and I feel pretty beat up everywhere, too, so it is going to take a while to get everything working this morning….I do need to take something for the pain before I get on the bike today…have been avoiding it since ibuprofen will kill you if you just look at the bottle according to the latest breathless warnings…didn’t get anything done yesterday but I will clean some today after I make a pizza for lunch…the ingredients are a week old and need to be used so I can get to the stuff I bought yesterday….going to make some instant pot chicken over the weekend and I do need to make some alfredo…have been thinking about that for two weeks and just need to do it….more later….

Well…with William Barr’s testimony to the Senate yesterday that was filled with lies, half truths and obstruction…even the normally circumspect Nancy Pelosi stated that he committed a crime with his lies, as did every dem that had to listen to his bullshit about his behavior with the Mueller report…and there is a chorus in the country calling for this liars resignation. That was before he blew off the House today where he was scheduled to undergo questioning by staff lawyers about the obvious lies he told even before he lied to the Senate yesterday….and that Senate testimony would be a road map for the House to get to the truth…but, Barr is so terrified of being exposed as the perjurer that he is that he is using the excuse that the House doesn’t have the authority to use lawyers to question him, it can only be done by the members themselves…I got news for you Billy, the co-equal legislative branch sets their own rules on testimony, and the executive branch has not one damn thing to say about it…you don’t get to blackmail the House by saying you won’t show up unless they conduct the hearing your way….in fact you will be held in contempt of congress and prosecuted if you don’t show…and that is where we are today…Barr blew off the House and now the vote to hold him in contempt is going to happen this afternoon…and guess what, Billy, you can be arrested if you don’t show up and held in custody until you do testify….is this what you envisioned when you decided to join the trump crime family? Oh, that’s right, you were already one of the slimiest operators in DC even before you begged trump to hire you…now, I just hope that Nadler and Pelosi follow through and restore the rule of law…and make this ass pay for his part is destroying this country…impeach…
May 2nd
Well…I really don’t know how I can be running late with getting up before 5 but I am…oh, well…I wonder if I can say that I slept okay when I got about 4 1/2 hours of sleep last night? That follows two days of 5 hours each and I should be exhausted from it but I don’t feel too bad this morning…and there was not even a nap to compensate yesterday so maybe today…when I was heading out to do the grocery run, I noticed there is nothing leaking under the car and cars are not supposed to fix themselves…so that means it was probably not my car that was leaking, I just parked on someone elses leak….and that is pretty cool since I don’t have to climb under it…other than to lube up the parking brakes that have started to hang up…forgot to do it while I was putting the summer wheels on so that will be a project for next week…I did get a bike ride in yesterday between the rain but a big part of the trail was flooded and I had to ride through foot deep water for a quarter of a mile to get to high ground…my shoes are still soaked from it and that is going to be unpleasant when I go out later….not much to do today…no errands to run but I do have cleaning to do…the kitchen needs work and that will be the focus of my day…if I can focus later…

Well…one of the things that happen when I get up too damn early is that I have time to fill before I can get on the weight machine and not wake up the neighbors…and I just needed to comment on the fact that William Barr was shown to be a huge liar last night on every news show…last night, it was revealed that Mueller sent Barr a scathing letter on March 27th saying that he misrepresented the findings that Mueller put in the report and in no way shape or form did he say what Barr said he did in his “summaries” or in his lie filled press conference. Mueller then followed the letter up with a 20 minute phone call to Barr to discuss what was in the letter…and that is a huge problem for Barr since he went in front of congress on April 10th and lied his ass off that he didn’t know what Mueller thought about Barr’s shenanigans with the releasing of the report and his misrepresentations of what Mueller’s conclusions were. This is a clear case of obstruction of justice and perjury by Barr and the calls for his resignation are coming more and more as time goes on…I guess my question is: don’t any of these morons know that they would be found to be lying? That there is tape of them testifying and it can’t be explained away by bullshit and bluster? This makes Barr a dead man walking and impeachment proceedings should be started if he doesn’t resign today…impeach…
May 1st
Well….that didn’t work…up at 5:03 this morning and I just knew that I wasn’t going back to sleep so I just gave up…and that makes me a little early here today…didn’t go to bed until late, too so that makes the night about a 5 hour one that is just not enough…oh, well…I’ll live through it and might just take a nap later to make up for it…okay, that made me laugh…that’s not going to happen but it’s a good thought…I did get a bike ride in yesterday but it was only 45 when I went out and the wind was blowing 20 out of the East and that made for a brutal ride that I didn’t warm up from all afternoon…it looks like I won’t get out until late afternoon today since it is raining now and it is supposed to rain all day with almost an inch forecast….I am getting really tired of all the damn rain and it is late enough in the spring that I can’t dismiss it by saying “at least it’s not snow” anymore…just want a couple of days that I can put the top down on the car and enjoy some sun…didn’t get a lot done yesterday but some errands and today looks the same…I did get two dozen eggs yesterday at 79 cents each and I think I need to make some omelets since I do have all of the stuff to make them that I bought last week for pizza…and I do need to make another pizza before it all spoils…but not today…I need coffee, coffee, coffee and to read some news before I do anything else…more later…
