Well…I’m a little tired of the political stuff right now with the drunken Godzilla trump crashing into everything and destroying the world, so I think I’ll talk a little about Nascar. I used to be a big fan of the series but lately the moves they have been making with rule changes is ruining the racing…and you can see that in the shrinking crowds at every track and the dropping tv ratings. It used to be that there was innovation when people were allowed to use their brains to get an advantage over the rest of the racers…but now, the rules are so strict that every car is exactly the same as the rest and all of the engineers and mechanics spend all their time making sure the body is not a thousandth of an inch off. Now they are even going to make things worse by introducing restrictor plates to more tracks than just Talledega and Daytona….if they do this, why do they need professional drivers at all if you can just hold the gas pedal to the floor and get around the track? Cripes..I could even drive one of them if they do that. With the shrinking crowds, I think they should just bar spectators from the big tracks and then unrestrict the engines of the cars that run there…after all, Bill Elliot ran a 212 MPH lap all the way back in 1988 and with today’s technology, they could race at 220…now that I would watch….one more thing I think they should do is, instead of mandating every damn thing down to the thousandth of an inch, there should be a range that the cars could fit in…say a range of 1-4 inches for the rear spoiler…of a range for ride height…you get the idea…and differing engine sizes…run a smaller one that gets better mileage or a bigger one with more power….the cars they have now are just spec cars that have killed the public’s interest…at least it has killed mine…

Well…not sure what kind of day it was yesterday…I know part of it sucked but I did get out to have one with the twins so that was cool…didn’t get anything done but I need to do some cleaning today…it looks like it is going to rain almost all day so I may have the day off the bike…and that may be a good thing….my legs are sore and could use some rest time…slept okay last night but I feel weary today and I may allow that to dictate how I do things today…I think I may need to just let the day flow how it will and not try to force anything….just like this post…there is a lot of racing on today with F1 qualifying at 10 and then two races later…and the Belmont stakes so I will have something to keep me from being too bored…more later…
No politics today…
Well….I am still feeling just gutted by Anthony Bourdain’s death and that has pushed most everything else out of my thoughts today…so, no politics…I know it’s important but I need time for reflection…when I started watching the new season of “Parts Unknown” I noticed a weariness in Anthony that I hadn’t noticed before…like everything that is happening in the world had become too much. Maybe I’m reading too much into it or projecting my own weariness into it…I don’t know…I do know that I felt a kinship to Anthony….that he was always trying to be a better person than he was…the same road I have gone down the past twenty years or so and yet realizing that it only matters to me…and I’m not sure if that is sustainable over the long term….all I know is that I’ll miss him and the show….it really did make you understand that people are people around the world and that the differences between us are not to be feared, they are to be savored and enjoyed…and if you let it, you’ll be better for being exposed to the rest of the world….I’ll miss him….
RIP Anthony Bourdain
Well…damn, I really hate doing these…not sure if you’ve heard yet, but Anthony Bourdain died last night in France where he was working on a show for CNN. It appears that the cause was suicide and that makes it even worse….I can understand the depths that you can sink to that makes the world so black that it seems to be the only way to stop suffering…and this is the thing…depression can hit anyone…even people who are rich and successful….he leaves behind a young daughter….RIP Anthony…..

Well….up early again today and I think I may stop commenting about that….I did sleep okay but starting seems to get harder every day…not too hard but harder….I do need to get out on the bike early today since there is F1 practice that I’d like to see at 10 and I need to get my Mega tickets for the drawing tonight….I really could use 152 million dollars….didn’t get a lot done yesterday but I will do some cleaning today after I make some pork chops for lunch…have had them marinating overnight and can’t wait to see how they come out…had some good news from T yesterday when she got the pathology report from her surgery and they found the reason for all the pain she was in…and the surgery fixed it so that is a relief….not much to do today….need to get started soon but the coffee is working yet….I’ve got an hour so I guess I can wait…more later…
The stupidity, it burns…
Well…I know you’re probably tired of reading about how stupid the idiot trump is…probably almost as tired as I am of writing about it…but, cripes…when he attacks Canada with some ignorant bullshit, I do need to comment. I’m sure you’ve heard of the phone call that the idiot boy had with Trudeau where Trudeau asked trump why Canada is a national security risk to the US, the excuse that trump used to impose tariffs on Canada. What did the idiot say to that? He said “you guys burned down the WH”…..just jaw dropping stupidity and ignorance. Every damn school kid knows that it was the British who burned the WH in the war of 1812…Canada wasn’t even a country yet in 1812 so how could they have done it? But, that doesn’t matter to the idiot in chief…just another instance where he makes crap up to score what he thinks is a political point and that blows up in the faces of all of us….when are you going to do something about this moron, repubs? November can’t come soon enough for 60% of the country….impeach…
June 7th
Well….running on time today for a Thursday and got the grocery run done…used my new credit card for the first time and it is cool to have one that you can just tap again….slept okay last night but I am having trouble ditching the earplugs…so, I guess I won’t…the new furnace sounds like a 747 so I am glad that it is warm enough to not need it…feel a little bit slow today and I know it’s from not eating enough so I am going to try to fix that today…spent 70 bucks at the grocery store and have chicken and pork chops to cook…need to try some new recipes so I think I’ll get out on the internet today and take a look….didn’t get much done yesterday but the normal workout and bike ride…oh, I did wash the bike, too, so it looks good again…I need to clean some today and I think I might…the cobwebs are getting annoying so that will be one project for the day…more later….
Another trump fiasco…
Well….I’m sure you’ve seen some of the photos and video of the latest trump fiasco, and I hope you laughed as hard as I did when the idiot boy was singing “God Bless America” and knew only about 5 words of the entire song. Now, Mr. “super patriot” can’t be bothered to learn the words to the two songs that he is using as a racist hammer to go after NFL football players for protesting the unfair treatment of minorities by police in this country, and that fact shows that it is all a game to him to gin up support from his base and keep them stirred up. One of the funniest parts of the Eagles refusal to go to the WH and trump throwing a little hissy fit about it was the “fans” that were supposed to be Eagles fans that were at his “patriotic” rally…all of them were repub staffers and they were all white…the Eagles have no AA fans? The absurdity of the entire spectacle was pierced by at least two people in the crowd who took a knee when the national anthem was played…I wonder if anyone pointed it out to the idiot boy? What a buffoon….impeach…
June 6th
Well…trying to stall a little this morning with it being in the 40′s…I need it to be 57 or so to get out on the bike so I need to kill some time…slept okay last night but feel a little slow today and that kind of fits with the schedule for the morning….they did put a new furnace in here yesterday and I do need to get used to how it sounds…at least the one upstairs is quiet….didn’t get much done yesterday but I will do some cleaning today…if I feel like it…and that is a little iffy right now….got my new credit card yesterday and got it activated and that made me want to go out and buy something…but, I didn’t, but I will tomorrow when I use it for groceries….need to spend 500 bucks on it in the next 3 months to get the 150 bucks back…thinking about new tires for the car…not much to do today…just a normal day with a workout and bike ride…and I need to cook some ribs for lunch…more later….
Cohen should be scared…
Well…just another little one on a story that no one else is talking about so I thought I would, and it’s one that should make the idiot trump and Michael Cohen pretty damn scared. It was reported yesterday that the special master that was going over the evidence seized in the Cohen raids has determined that less than 1% of it is privileged information that falls under lawyer/client privilege….yeah, that is pretty stunning…over 99% of the info, including the 16 phones that were seized are fair game and can be used to build a case against Cohen, and I’m sure idiot boy, too. This one is going to be a good one to follow over the next couple of weeks…and I can’t wait until someone tells the orange menace…the tweetstorm is going to be epic….impeach…
