Well…running a little late today since I just haven’t been able to get going…and the computer is giving me fits again but I think I have that fixed…and, we tied at pool for the second time in a row which is really weird….slept okay and had some dreams that were too boring to tell so I won’t…and, it’s frickin 42 degrees? In June? just can’t take this crap and forgot to put the heat on for the second night in a row…so, it’s cold in here and I’m having hot coffee to try to cope…it just on principle that I won’t put the heat on now….didn’t get a lot done yesterday and probably won’t today either….just can’t get moving….but I will in a few minutes when I start the workout and then get on the bike…more later….
Tax cuts don’t create jobs…again….
Well….as the bidding goes on and states keep falling all over themselves to see how much money they can give to corporations to “create jobs”….there have been a couple of new studies that have come out that say that it doesn’t work…two repub budget directors from here in Michigan have weighed in on the Snyder tax cuts for business that were supposed to create jobs…or that ole Snyder is lying about saying they did…there have been no jobs found that can be attributed to those tax cuts…the only thing they have done is bust the budget and ensure that the roads won’t be fixed…there was also another study that I would think would be the final nail in the tax cut coffin….in New York state, they doled out over 30 million dollars to the “job creators” and guess what was the result? 76 jobs…yep, 76 jobs for 30 million dollars of taxpayers money…..when is this idiocy going to stop? geez,,,,,
June 1st
Well…running really late this morning and I have an excuse this time…my internet has been down all morning and has just come back up…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done…and today looks like more of the same…I did shave my beard off this morning just to see what it looks like and I’m not sure if I like it or not…I don’t have any lips and it looks kind of odd…but I do this about once a year and think I’ll just let it go for a while….slept okay last night and feel okay today so that’s something….I do have to get the workout in and then I’m going to wash the car since it is not going rain all week and it is still pretty cold out there so the bike ride will have to wait until after I get back….might have pool today so that is something to look forward to if it happens….more later…
Filler, filler, filler…
Well…might just as well admit it in the title that this one is a filler to make the quota for the month….not much going on in politics right now so I haven’t had a lot to write about…oh, the Patriot act may expire tonight…I hope Rand Paul keeps his promises to kill the damn thing and just get rid of that monstrosity of a law that has done more to destroy civil liberties in the US than anything else….it’s the most hated day of the month tomorrow…don’t even want to think about paying the rent…so, I won’t…going to do a GOT marathon tonight starting with the first episodes…didn’t see a lot of the early ones so I hope I can find three or four that I haven’t seen….and, I am going to make it a cocktail night since I am so bored…I am going to make tacos for dinner so I guess I should get to it…there…made the goal!
Whitecaps on the puddles…
Well….it has been a cold morning but I did get out on the bike but not without some issues….got about 2 miles out and the bike just didn’t feel right so I stopped and noticed that the bolt that holds the swingarm on was loose, leaving about a half inch of play in it…so, I had to come back here for that repair and it made the bike so much better….it just hasn’t felt right for a while now…it was almost impossible to go in a straight line with it but that is fixed now….yay…but, that’s not what this one is about…well…kinda…on the ride today the wind was blowing almost 30 mph from the northeast which made parts of the ride just brutal…there were times that I was just stopped dead by a gust and that is just no fun….with the wind blowing that hard…I laughed when I saw there were whitecaps in the puddles on the trail today…..one more to go…
May 31st
Well..it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done…the spiders are still in the bathroom and the kitchen still needs to be cleaned but for some reason I just don’t care…slept okay last night but forgot to put the heat on and it was cold in here when I got up…still haven’t put it on but it seems tolerable with it only being 48 outside…will need to wear a sweatshirt if I decide to get out on the bike today…didn’t ride yesterday with all of the rain and that may have been a good thing to get rid of the soreness….feel a little crappy today and I have a few things to get done but not a whole lot….I do have to do two more of these to get to the goal for the month and I hope they are not fillers but I can’t promise anything….more later…
May 30th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and we tied at pool…which is kind of weird…slept okay but had a melancholy night last night…just one of those nights where it feels like an ending is coming but I’m not sure what that would be….had to run the air in the car on the way back from pool since it was raining and it was not bad….I think that is the longest time I’ve ever run it and the car was nice and cold….I just can’t believe that a 21 year old car still functions like a new one…I think it’s the only car that I have owned that the air actually worked…have had some weird food cravings lately and they continue today…going to make chili dogs today…something I never eat but they just sounded good…weird…not much to do today…may not ride today with the rain that is coming in since I don’t feel like going right now….just going to watch races and veg…more later…
I am a giant….
Well….I finally have something to report from the trail this season and it is really kind of cool….the other day I saw what I think was the biggest snake I have seen on the trail and a couple of us even stopped to look at it….but today…I felt like I was a giant….during the ride I came across all kind of wildlife that could only be described as miniature…starting with some snakes that were no larger than nightcrawlers, I then ran across some tiny little turtles that were about the size of a half dollar….but there weren’t box turtles so I’m not really sure where they came from…and then the tiny bunnies showed up a little ways down the trail…and they were so small that you could hold four of them in one palm and they didn’t even move when I rode by…don’t know if they have learned about predators yet but they sure better soon….it sure ran through my head that I was a giant and these tiny, puny animals were ants that I could easily step on…not that I would…just felt that way…
May 29th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I made a little cash so that was cool….and I had a nice lunch of Japanese food that I am still feeling today..slept okay last night but I feel a little slow today and the coffee is not working yet….not sore so that is a plus but I think I’ll take something before I go out on the bike to try to keep the wrists from cramping…that seems to be the pain spot this year and it is annoying…along with the back that is….and the neck…okay, so there’s not one spot this year but a few….it was nice to get the car out on the e-way yesterday to get it warmed up but the bugs were in suicide mode and the windshield was coated when I got back here…and I just washed the car…not much to do today….pool, of course and then not much more…the computer seems to be better and that is just one less thing to think about….more later…
Ted Cruz (and the rest of the Texas delegation) are still hypocrites…
Well…I know, I know…I do a lot of these pointing out the hypocrisy on the right but there is so much of it that I feel compelled to expose it to sunlight and hope that people recognize that it is even worse than anyone imagined. The latest case is one of those headshakers…okay, no it’s not….not where repubs are involved…you’ve heard about the flooding in Texas that has done lots of damage and left many people without homes…and businesses underwater…..and you’ve probably heard the calls from the reps from Texas like Ted Cruz say the federal government should be stepping in right now to help pay for the damage…the only problem here is the hypocrisy of these statements; in fact dripping with it so much I think it may be adding to the flooding…a few years back, when hurricane Sandy devastated the entire northeast…Ted Cruz and the rest of the Texas delegation voted against any federal aid…calling it nothing but pork…so yesterday’s pork is now necessary since it is in Texas? I, for one think that it is part of being a citizen that you can count on your country to help in these disasters and when your neighbors or anyone in the US is in need, I have no problem with my tax dollars going to help them, that is what a society is about…but these venal asses in Texas should have to pay for turning their backs on other parts of this country as they wave their sense of entitlement when it is in their state….this has to be thrown in their face at every campaign stop….as long as they continue to be the hypocrites they are…geez…
