Well…I am shocked that 60 Minutes would put MTG on it’s show for a softball interview that legitimized her frickin craziness and never pushed back on her lies and bullshit…I mean Leslie Stahl just let her continue to lie about dems calling all dems “groomers” and “pedophiles” and not once calling her out on her statements that dems should be killed just for being dems and that “Jewish space lasers” were the cause of the wildfires in California…this is so damn dangerous to mainstream the far right…and now, all of the independents who watch the show are going to think that she’s not too bad when she really is that bad, the worst sort of politician who only fuels the outrage on the right and doesn’t do anything for her constituents…but not one question about that like: “what legislation have you written to help the people who elected you?” See, that’s not too hard and I thought of that one off the top of my head…Stahl has been useless for years now and 60 Minutes should just go off the air if they are going to normalize these far right insurrectionists who tried to overthrow the government…not one question about that by the way, when Marge was in the middle of January 6th….what a worthless piece of trash…geez…

I’m struggling today…
Well…it’s another one of those days where I am struggling to come up with a topic for this one and I’m not sure why…there is lots of stuff going on but I’m just not feeling the outrage that I normally use to fuel these…I wonder if it’s trump fatigue? When there is a new scandal almost every day, it does make you weary reading about all that all the time…and, I’ve been in a pretty good mood today and that doesn’t help. Okay, maybe I should talk about the debacle of an interview that Betsy DeVos has on “60 Minutes” last night….if there has ever been a less qualified person for ed secretary, I don’t know who that would be. And, here’s the thing, it doesn’t matter to the repubs that she dumber than a box of rocks…and her dismal performance at her confirmation hearings was repeated in the interview last night…when she was asked if she has ever visited any underperforming schools to see what the problems are there she just looked blankly at Leslie Stahl and said “oh, maybe I should”…and in the rest of the interview she showed that she is uniquely unqualified for the job….I think people should remember that she and her other rich allies did their best to kill off public schools here in Michigan so they could line their pockets with tax money that went to the charter schools here…and this is the model she wants across the country nevermind that the founders of this country (some pretty sharp people) knew that public education was vital to a working democracy. I think ole Betsy is the best example of why we need a 90% inheritance tax in this country….just because she has inherited money doesn’t make her an expert on anything…a fact that is reinforced every time she opens her mouth….hey, I guess I did have a topic…
What happened to the news?
Well…not sure if you’ve read or heard about the latest implosion of a news organization, where CBS’s 60 minutes ran a supposedly new report on Benghazi that was going to finally get to the bottom of it…even when there is no bottom to get to. They ran the report a couple of weeks ago and almost immediately, other news organizations dug just a little bit to find that the person they hung the entire expose’ on was a liar…saying in official reports to his company and the FBI that he was at his seaside villa when the attack was going on, but in the 60 Minutes report and his book, this liar made himself out to be a hero…scaling a 12 foot wall to get into the consulate and killing an insurgent by hitting him in the face with his gun butt. When did 60 Minutes become just another hack news show? And, how can the producers there throw away 50 years of integrity just because they want to get on the right wing bandwagon…ignoring the basic tenets of journalism for sensationalism? The fallout from this sordid affair continue with even the publisher of the book who is well known for publishing right wing screeds removing it from the shelves and the supposed author going into seclusion. I do have to thank our liberal attack machine, Media Matters, for their work on exposing this blatant set of lies…good job.
