Well…I’m sure you’ve heard about the clerk in Kentucky who was jailed for contempt of court when she refused to issue marriage licenses to gay couples citing her “religious freedom” and the elevation of this bigot to hero status for the right…and the circus continues today with Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee organizing a rally to support her bigotry and hate. I guess this is to be expected since these folks don’t have any idea what the constitution says or means…the first amendment and it’s protections of religious freedom DOES NOT mean that you are free to impose your religious views on others…and that is what this case is about…this religious zealot trying to impose her interpretation of faith on the entire county by not issuing and ordering her deputies to not issue marriage licenses to gay couples…that’s it…she is free to practice her religion and not marry a woman, but she is not free to tell anyone else how to live their lives…it would be the same thing as if a Muslim person, working for the county, refused to grant a restaurant a license if they are going to serve pork ribs, in accordance to his religion…or one working for the DMV refusing to give a driver’s license to woman since his sect says women shouldn’t drive. You get my drift here…and there should never be any type of “religious accommodation” that would allow these bigots to continue to collect their pay and not do their jobs…if it means that much to them, quit, and go live your religious live somewhere else….I have no tolerance for these people any more…geez…

Religion intrudes….again…
Well…have been following the case of the country clerk in Kentucky who has been refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples because…Religion…even after the supreme court told her to stop that crap. In fact, every court that she has ended up in has told her to do her job or resign..that the first amendment doesn’t give her the right to impose her religious views on her county or any individual…just what she is trying to do by denying these gay couples licenses….and she admits that by saying god is the law she is following and that it trumps the supreme court…now, you’ve heard me rant about this before…that the fundies are no different than the Taliban or other religious fundamentalists…all groups who want to impose their interpretation of supposed holy books on everyone…even those that don’t believe. I’m sure in her vows of office, she promised to uphold the constitution and she should be removed from office and held in contempt if she won’t do her job…updates later…
Nothing stupid so far this weekend…
Well…as you know, I depend on people doing and saying stupid things for many of my topics here but there hasn’t been anything to write about today…the candidates seem to have gone into hiding or they’re out talking to people in their bubble without coverage…so, where does that leave me? Nowhere, it seems…..oh, there is that idiot county clerk in Tennessee who is still refusing to grant marriage licenses to gay couples…even though 3 court cases have gone against her…she now is appealing to the supreme court to allow her to use here religion to discriminate against gays under the guise of “religious freedom”…when will these asses understand that you can’t just shout “religion” and then have a license to treat people badly…saw a show the other day that really showed how this didn’t work back when integration of the schools was happening and it won’t work now…just quit the job you idiot…one good thing is that they have started to work on filing misconduct charges against her and then will remove here from office…I hope the couples she refused will sue her broke for damages…geez…
Another good decision…
Well…it is another great day and another great decision by the supreme court when, just a few minutes ago, the court made gay marriage legal across the country….striking down one of the most egregious bits of discrimination that is still left in the country. One of the best things about this decision is that was on a broad reading of the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment which will then lead to ending discrimination in hiring and firing and every other mode of discrimination that the idiots out there have dreamed up….I applaud the supreme court for dong what is right…it had to go this way…

Well…as we wait for the supreme court to rule on the legality of same sex marriage, the haters in our Michigan legislature have kept their dark, little hearts busy trying to proactively circumvent the decision that most think will go for the right to marry for gay couples. Led by a real ass, Rep Todd Courser of Lapeer, who has just proposed bills that would require a religious leader to sign off on any wedding here in Michigan…and since most of these supposed “Christian” leaders are opposed to gay marriage, the ability of any same sex couple to find someone who would marry them will be slim at best and impossible for some of our fellow citizens. Now, as you know, the repubs don’t really care if bills are constitutional or not, especially when they are used to hurt people they don’t like, but to require anyone to have to have a religious person”sign off” on their marriage is a clear violation of the first amendment’s establishment clause and will be thrown out in court…and again, they will be spending my tax dollars to defend discrimination…what the hell has happened to my tolerant Michigan? Gone since the repubs took over…geez…

Well…just read about a new suit that has been filed in Wisconsin that is attempting to overturn their constitutional amendment against same sex marriage…which is not too unusual given that all of those laws and amendment violate the 14th amendment’s equal protection clause…one thing that these pricks in Wisconsin did that has flown under the national radar exposes the hate they have for gays in their state…the so-called “marriage evasion” law that makes it a criminal offense for gays to go to other states and get married…yep, you heard it right…in Wisconsin, it is illegal for anyone to go to another state to “contract a marriage that is prohibited or void in Wisconsin”…basically saying that Wisconsin’s laws trump the laws of any other state…and anyone doing that can go to jail for 9 months and have to pay a $10,000 fine…just don’t know what to say about the hate filled asses that could write and pass such a law…but we do know who signed it into law…everyone’s buddy ole Scott Walker…try running for president on that you idiot…geez…

Well…I am finding it to be fun to watch the slow motion destruction of the Romney campaign and they just keep sticking their feet in it…today, we had ole Paul Ryan in Ohio trying to win over undecided voters with the old canard that being against gay marriage is a “universal value” that everyone in the country believes and that’s why he supports legislation against it…I wonder if old Paul understands the word universal? The gist of it is that universal means that everyone understands it in the same way…but the polls here in the states show that more than 50% of the people are okay with gay marriage…I guess he means that among his troglodyte followers it is a universal value but for people who think that equal rights mean equal rights it is not universal by any stretch of the imagination. Keep it up Paul, every time you open your mouth Obama gets farther in the lead…
