Well….I was going to abandon the idea of a Rush watch counting the number of sponsors he has lost since his idiotic comments of last week, but I just can’t resist…the pull of seeing this moron go down in flames, finally, is just too hard to ignore…especially when the count has reached 50 and shows no signs of abating. So, now he is relegated to the same sort of sponsors that were left when Glenn Beck was circling the drain…gold sellers and herbal ED supplements….and it just makes me laugh so damn hard that I’d better stop before I choke….bye bye Rush….

The right misses again….
Well…I did go out to the beach and got a little sun…but that’s not what this is about…doing that a lot lately…I just have to comment on the rush to judgment by the right wing tv and newspapers who were all sure that the tragedy in Norway was caused by muslim extremists and went out of their way to trumpet the fact…even when they were completely wrong. Then we had Glenn Beck on his radio show comparing the youth camp where the murders happened to a Hitler youth camp…just because it was a Labor party party sponsored event. When are we all going to reject these folks and their hatred? I’ve had enough of the sloppy reporting and the assumptions being sold as the facts….when are we going to start holding the right responsible for this nonsense? Geez….

Well…I missed this one and I can barely believe it myself…didn’t really miss it but my brain has been on alert overload for so long that this easy, simple, target was missed. It is a day of rejoicing for America and for us progressives…but not only that, for any thinking, rational human being….damn, buried the lead again…let’s back up…Glenn Beck’s show on the fake news network has been canceled and I can’t be happier. Before you think that I am a proponent of censorship of even extreme ideas, if you’ve been here before you know that I always want an interpretation of the constitution that leans toward individual freedom that is almost absolute, and would want even Glenn Beck’s views to be protected by the first amendment. That said, I also think that the public discourse in our society has become way too coarse and is a factor in the polarization of our country….something I think is the root cause of the looming government shutdown. As I’ve said before, crazies like Glenn would have been unwashed, and standing on a street corner spewing his hate when I was growing up…but in these cynical times organizations like Fox will do anything to further their cause and that has meant giving people like Beck a mouthpiece, but I think it was more than that…I think it was a ploy to make the rest of the extremists at Fox look less far-right than they are….providing a convenient but still false comparison. So, goodbye Glenn….and good riddance….
God is sending victory geese to Glenn Beck…
Well…I haven’t laughed so hard in a while…saw a youtube clip that Glenn Beck has been playing (no, of course I wasn’t watching his show) that supposedly, someone took during his rally in DC a month or so ago showing a flock of geese flying in a v over the reflecting pond. Of course, Beck the messiah couldn’t let it go at that…that it was a cool bit of nature to be savored and enjoyed for what it was…geese looking for a place to land. He has now inflated it by saying that it was the great invisible man in the sky (or God if you like) that sent the geese to do a “flyover” in the shape of a v signifying that he will be victorious in his crusade to restore honor to the US. Really, Glenn…haven’t you ever seen geese before? Did you know that they always fly in a V when they are migrating?
This kind of delusional behavior has been the haven of charlatans over the years and Beck is no different….I wonder if he was the one that bought the grilled cheese with the image of Jesus on it….people that hear voices in their heads used to be called crazy…in his case, I think it fits…geez…
