Well….after seeing the videos from the doctors, nurses, and other hospital workers on tv and their heart wrenching pleas for help and their deep, deep fear that they too will die from the virus…the thing that hits me like a gut punch is the question of who is going to help with the hidden damage that this work is causing to these people? Every damn one of them who survives is going to have the debilitating affects of PTSD that will always be with them…who is going to take care of them and help them? As a society that operates on the profit motive in healthcare, there is no mechanism, no program, no money that is available to mitigate this hidden disaster…and who is going to replace these people who have given everything to protect their fellow human beings? I don’t even hear any discussion on this terrible human toll…just the same old bullshit on how to “open” the economy and how to give money to corporations that don’t need it…and once the pandemic subsides will we go back to the same old crap where hospitals close and doctors and nurses are expected to take pay cuts to protect the profit of the corporations who see healthcare as just another profit center? Who are we as a country if we allow this to happen? This is our chance to make this a better country as the virus exposes the rotten foundations that have been patched with cheap plaster for so long…we just need the will to do it…but I don’t hold out much hope that will happen…and that makes me sick.

Trump just has to go…
Well…I am just pissed off about comments that idiot boy made at a veterans conference on Monday…the 5 deferment, fake bone spur chicken hawk suggested that veterans who return from combat with PTSD are not as “strong” as those who are able to “handle” it…now this is wrong on so many levels coming from a person who is afraid of everything and has been coddled his entire life…a person who would never consider serving in the military since it wouldn’t benefit him personally and even had a clause in his first divorce agreement that would disown his daughter if she ever joined the military. How can the repubs who supposedly are the strongest supporters of the military (hint: they aren’t) let this kind of disrespect for the service of injured veterans stand? I want the chicken in chief to go to a war zone and have the vehicle he’s riding in blown from under him…or face combat every day for months with no let up….or see his friends or brothers or sisters in arms killed right next to him…it’s a miracle that more of our returning soldiers are not scarred for life and that trump, of all people is calling anyone weak is one of the most sick things I have ever heard. He just has to go…he has shown he has no human feeling for anyone…he can’t console anyone because he doesn’t give a damn about anyone but himself and he doesn’t understand sacrifice…and it sure isn’t “weak” to react to the horrors of war….but the draft dodger in chief wouldn’t understand that…impeach…
I think we have PTSD….
Well….this is just going to be a shorty on a thought that just popped into my head….I think the 62% of us that just hate the idiot in the WH and all of the scandals and crimes of the trump crime family have PTSD. The quick description of PTSD is a mental condition that results in a series of of emotional and physical reactions in those who have either witnessed or experienced a traumatic event….now I don’t mean to minimize the PTSD that our soldiers have brought back from war…but, to me, the idiot trump’s election was just that sort of an event….
Hidden damage…
Well…with the huge march yesterday against gun violence across the country and the world, a realization came to me about the hidden damage that this violence causes that no one talks about. Since the shootings at Columbine, there have been over 180,000 kids who have been in a school shooting situation….and what hidden damage has this done to these poor kids? Why should they have to live their lives with this pain just so a few white guys get to keep their killing machines? Can you imagine it? Every day having to live with their fear and panic…and even ones who have not been in a shooting still live with it…with the shelter in place and active shooter drills…can you remember being in grade school? Now add to that your teacher explaining to you that there could be a killer coming in the school to get you so you have to learn how to hide from him? How could a 5 or 6 or 7 year old deal with that? Why should they HAVE to deal with that? Just so a few white guys can have the same firepower as the army has? Every other damn amendment to the constitution has been altered over time as the society has evolved so why not the 2nd? Don’t give me the crap that you need all those guns to protect yourself from the government or from crime…do you think a few idiots with AR-15′s are going to take on the US army? And, crime is down sharply across this country except by guys that just have to prove how tough they are by lugging their guns around everywhere they go….and it doesn’t make you tough…tough is going through your life unafraid…and unarmed….and standing up for a safer, saner America even after 17 of your friends and teachers are gunned down in front of your eyes…that is tough…something the gun nuts will never understand…
