Gonna keep piling on ole Mitt….

Well….I had to laugh the other day when ole Mitt came out and said that some of the things that the dems have said about him and his time at Bain have hurt his feelings and that Obama should apologize for the ads….what would ole Mitt do if another world leader called him names or hurt his feelings…would he ask for an apology? This just points up something that Mitt has been his entire career…thin skinned and eager to play the victim…would he do this going up against Putin? I think he just doesn’t have the stones to be a world leader and to have someone actively oppose what he thinks…when that happens, he crawls back to his rich supporters and insular world to lick his wounds. How is he going to stand up to anyone when he has never had to in his entire privileged life?

Oh, one last thing that I found interesting in the papers today is the speculation that the reason ole Mitt won’t release his tax returns from 2009 is that he may have been one of the Americans that took the IRS amnesty for hiding income in Swiss banks and not paying the taxes he owed on it. With the revelation of the hidden accounts in the Cayman Islands and the other financial chicanery that he has used to avoid paying his fair share of taxes…this could be the smoking gun that finally reveals how un-American ole Mitt really is…geez…

The only voter fraud is being done by the Republicans…

Well…if you are a regular reader here, you might have seen me do a post on the shady dealings here in GR (that’s Grand Rapids to those of you that aren’t from around here) where a long time Democratic rep Roy Schmidt waited until it the last few minutes of the filing deadline to switch parties, ensuring that the dems would not be able to register anyone to oppose him; leaving the dems to the arduous task of a write in campaign for their candidate. This sleazy nonsense has had some details put to it over the past couple of days, and it is even worse than was reported a few months back. It appears that rep Schmidt and the speaker of the house Jase Bolger, both repubs, put together a nasty little plan that tried to place one of rep Schmidt’s sons friends on the ballot as a dem with the stipulation that this young man not run any campaign so that rep Schmidt would have no opposition and would fix the election for him. Rep Schmidt even went so far as to pay this young man $1,000 dollars if he would register and even had his chief of staff file the paperwork…even though the young man didn’t live in the district. Then, we have the prosecutor for Kent County saying that while the move was sleazy, it didn’t break any laws. But, this is not true…if you prompt someone to make a false statement in court or on a political filing…it is called suborning perjury and it is certainly against the law. There is enough evidence here to charge both Schmidt and Bolger with this crime, this voter fraud that they say they are so opposed to and are so afraid of. At the very least, these two should immediately resign so a fair election can take place…after all, it’s what the repubs say they want….geez…

July 18th

Well…it was a little disappointing this morning at 5:40 when some storms rolled through with a lot of noise but nothing else…it did trigger some dreams afterward that included riding my bike with a long neck in my hand and a collage of places I’ve been mashed together….and it was a crappy night of sleep so I am a little worn out right now….and there were hundreds of cars parked on the lawn here for some reason….I am getting tired of the heat and I hope it breaks today…it is wearing to be sweating all the time and it is almost too hot to put the top down on the car….not much to do today…more resumes, of course, but I do need to clean this place up since the spiders are taking over and I just don’t like the looks of it….and I am going to try to cut the deficit in half today so come on back and take a look…

Mitt is now a liar and a time traveler…

Well…had to get this one down before I forget it…the latest bit of nonsense coming out of ole Mitt’s campaign made me laugh out loud for the audacity of it…this weekend, one of ole Mitt’s advisers went on a Sunday talk show to try to explain why SEC filings show that Mitt was still the head honcho at Bain until 2002, not 1999, the date that Mitt has used to try to say he had no role in the outsourcing of jobs that Bain pioneered….and the adviser used the phrase “retroactively retired” to explain the discrepancy…You gotta hand it to these folks, creating their own reality that bears no resemblance to the truth and hoping that no one will notice….I am awestruck with the new ways they have found to lie…but, Mitt is such an expert that I shouldn’t be surprised…geez…

Oh, one last thing we should remember about these dates, most of the job creation that ole Mitt is taking credit for happened after 1999 when ole Mitt said he was no longer running Bain…so, he takes credit for jobs when he says he was retired but won’t take responsibility for outsourcing in the same time frame? Just more lies from the king of them…

July 17th

Well…it was a day yesterday and the day got away from me but you know that since I didn’t come back for a second one…I am exhausted today and not thinking too clearly so this one is going to be short for now…I did have dreams that had T in them but I don’t remember them very well so I won’t report them right now….not much to do today…I am going to try to get out for coffee since I think the lack of coffee yesterday has something to do with the tiredness….and I do need the papers to get back on track….more later…

Okay…that was a HOT ride on the bike and it’s been over for a half hour and I am still dripping…just read an interesting fact in one of the newspapers…we have, on average, 11 days in Michigan that are over 90 degrees every summer, but, so far this year, we are already at 19 and counting…it looks like we will be over double the number by the end of the week…I can’t remember a summer this hot and I’m really old…going to need to put the air on later and run the electric bill up…

July 16th

Well…it was a day yesterday and I was successful doing nothing for my birthday…but, I have lots to do today so I need to get at it here in a couple of minutes…even going to skip coffee and the papers today which means that I will have to be creative for the second one for the day…I do still have the online papers but won’t get to that until after I get some work done around here and then get cleaned up….and then out for pool later so it will be a full day…I’ll be back later for more but should get to it right now…

Another one?

Well…I have been pretty successful at doing nothing today and I have been trying to remember a couple of topics that I wanted to write about but haven’t had any luck…I could muse a little about aging but I don’t feel any worse than I did 10 years ago so I shouldn’t bitch too much…I could use a break from this weather, though, it is getting a little trying when every day is over 90…and I don’t even want to see the electric bill after running the air every day to cool off enough to sleep at night…it looks like everything is set for my daughter’s wedding but it is going to cost me almost a grand that I don’t have but it looks like one more of the kids is coming so that will be cool…and, who knows, I might have a job by then….I wish there was something in politics to talk about…maybe I’ll go and re-read the paper for a topic…

July 15th

Well…running late today and at least this time I have a good reason…read the paper and got the bike ride in before it gets too hot…and, I didn’t come back for a second one yesterday since I got such a late start on the day…and, you know how weekends are…this is a somewhat special day…it’s my birthday and I’m not sure how I feel about that…it is good making it to another one, but is also another one…and they are piling up at a greatly accelerated rate it seems…there is one good thing, though…my birthday is the one day of the year that I allow myself to do absolutely nothing and not feel guilty about it…of course there are other days I do nothing, but I’m always guilty on those days….not much to do today…as I said, I’m going to do nothing today but watch races and take a nap…and maybe one more of these…but, don’t hold your breath…

July 14th

Well….it is the afternoon so that is pretty late huh? I had some things to do today…met up with the Miata owners club for a while out a Fallasburg park and it was fun but they all seem to be Obama haters and that will probably be a deal breaker for me…we’ll see…I did get a bunch of cool stuff for the Miata so that was neat…one thing, though…they all seem to be older than I am and most of them can barely move…weird…I am now just getting cooled off from being out in the sun for 3 hours and that feels good…but I do need to eat something since it is almost 3….so, I’ll be back later for more if I can get the brain working better….oh, and I do have one of the most rare Miatas…in color that is…so that is cool…

July 13th

Well…it was a day yesterday but didn’t accomplish much other than getting the car washed and waxed…but, I hope today will be different with what I hope will be a trip to Mt P and then getting a bunch of other stuff done…feel a little crappy today with the allergies going crazy and that led to no sleep last night…which really is not unusual lately…just realized it’s Friday the 13th…whatever that means…okay, going to come back in a while and continue…not feeling it right now….

Okay..been in the car all day and that has taken all of the energy I had….drove almost 250 miles today and I am tired and sunburned…so, I may just leave this as it is and come back for more tomorrow…but you never know…
