Well…it has been a nice day so far with having a surprise lunch with T…but that’s not what I wanted to talk about…what do I want to talk about? Oh…are Americans getting more stupid every day or have they always been this way? that little question was spurred by an article that I just read saying that the percentage of people that believe in global warming here in the US has jumped by almost 20% since the weather has gone screwy this year…no, I’m not sure if any of these events is a harbinger of climate change; some of it may be but it strikes me that this is like the naysayers who point to blizzards as say “where’s your global warming now?”. Hmmm….oh, I want to deal with the conspiracy theory that says that business won’t hire until Obama is defeated and that is what is driving the poor employment numbers. You may remember that I proposed the same theory a while back (somewhat tongue in cheek), but it was supposed to be taken as comedy….but now, it appears that the idea is getting some traction in the media…I hope not, since it is demand, demand, demand….that drives hiring and until demand increases, or the forecast of demand increases, you would be an idiot to hire anyone…so, let’s keep to the science of economics, not to wild speculation…even if wild speculation is much more fun….

Well….this one is going to be short…felt like crap all day yesterday and it is continuing today…the brain is not really working and it hurts to think….this has to be allergies since I can’t breathe and my head feels like it is filled with concrete….I wonder if it could be a summer cold? Whatever it is, I do need to get caught up today so I will be back for at least two more of these which means I do need to go out and get the papers today and coffee would taste good…more later…
July 8th
Well…another day of not much going on yesterday and I am getting really bored…not sure what to do about it yet but I guess I’ll figure it out…slept okay but was up way too early at 6 since I didn’t hit the sack until late…and I’m sore for some reason…oh, got back on the bike yesterday…that’s probably it….might go and meet up with some other Miata owners this morning but no trip to K-zoo with them since I just don’t feel like it…that means I’ll have to take a shower here pretty quick but I’m not sure if I want to do that…do need to get back out on the bike to see if the seat adjustments made a difference but that will be later in the morning…and I may be back with another one for later…who knows?
How about a part two?
Well…I did get out on the bike today and I still have some adjusting to do…it was so damn hot even going out at 9 that I came back feeling pretty crappy and soaked…I guess it’s going to take a while to get used to it again…have to adjust where the seat is located…have it way too far forward and the bike just felt weird riding it…oh, well…it has been another day of way too hot and I have found myself putting the air on again but it is good to have it…will just have to deposit some money in the bank to pay for it….not much to do today….have just been vegging all of the day waiting for the race to come on later and trying to figure out if I’m eating enough..only had about 1200 cals yesterday and that followed a couple of days of about the same since I wasn’t riding….still not hungry and nothing sounds good….bad problem to have, huh? Okay….I’m about done with this stuff for now…maybe a political one tomorrow…
July 7th
Well…as always, running late today and I am getting a little excited that I can get back on the bike today even though it is already over 80 and it’s not even 8:30 yet…it looks like another over 100 day today and I am starting to get tired of them even though I like the heat…there were dreams last night but I don’t remember them too well so I won’t report them…I did have to put the air on yesterday aft while I was re-assembling the bike because I was drenched and then left it on…it was just too hot….going to have to take it easy for the ride today with being off for a week but that will be okay…I do need to watch F-1 qualifying so I’m going to do that…more later….
July 6th
Well….survived one of the hottest days in my lifetime yesterday and it looks like it’s going to be hotter today…103 or so and I am going to do it without air conditioning…at least until bedtime….but, I didn’t do too much…other than clean up around here…and it is going to be the same today…I do have to go out to Tom’s and pick up the bike and put it back together….that will be all for the day…and that’s all for right now…need to go out and get the papers and then come back here for coffee to watch the F1 practice…more later….
Okay…I’m back for a short update…it is hot outside…104 degrees and I had to break down and put the air on….I did get the bike fixed…Tom did a nice job on the welding and I only had to do a little filing to make the post fit…and the duct tape doesn’t look too bad…so, back on the bike tomorrow but I’ll have to go out early since it is going to be 97 and humid….but it will be nice to get back out and get some exercise….not sure if I’ll do a political one today…maybe…
More Mitt….
Well…just a little short one on an article that was reported the other day that goes to how ethically challenged ole Mitt is….and how he has no problem lying about anything if it will further his political prospects…a few days back it was revealed that in his days as a job killer at Bain, he instructed one of his subordinates to lie to obtain information about a competitor…a great example to set for people who work for you and not a trait that anyone should want in a president. Except the right, that is, who have absolutely no problem lying, cheating, and stealing to shove their warped vision of the US down our throats. It looks like the people are starting to get an idea of who the real Mitt is and the polls are reflecting it finally….if you haven’t seen it, there was a funny arc in “Doonesberry” this week that took ole Mitt’s job creation claims to task…he created lots of jobs but those jobs were in China and the Chinese government sent a representative to give him a plaque for it…funny stuff…

Well…running late again and again, I’m not sure why but does it really matter? I had a total veg day yesterday with the ‘Firefly” marathon that I watched most of the day..it was too hot to do much else with the upper reading at 99 degrees so I didn’t….I think I may have slept okay but I’m not sure…didn’t seem to flip and flop like normal but the pillow and sheets were on the floor so I must have done some….not much to do today….I am trying to get moving and get out the door to read the papers and have coffee but I’m not having much luck…more later…
Something weird and surprising here in Michigan….
Well….I have been vegging it out today in the heat but I do have to comment on a weird occurrence that happened a couple of days ago here…as you probably know, across the country the repubs have been passing new laws aimed at “voter fraud” but whose true purpose is to suppress the votes of those Americans that tend to vote for the dems since the repubs can’t win on their ideas. That same thing was happening here in Michigan using the model laws that have been dreamed up by ALEC…the extreme right wing organization that gave us the “stand your ground” laws that have been responsible for hundreds of deaths across the country. But, there was surprising thing that happened here after the repubs passed bills to do the same thing…our governor vetoed them…yep, my jaw dropped too when I read about it….it is the first time that a repub governor had the guts to go against the party lockstep and lies that led to those laws. I am starting to get a grudging respect for Governor Snyder…even though he has gone along with the righties many times since he was elected and I don’t agree with any of them….this time he did what was right for all of the people of Michigan, not just those who voted for him. So, thank you Mr. Snyder…keep doing what is right…not just for the political right….

Well…it seems that I am running late all the time these days…and it is happening again today…plus, I really don’t have much to say right now feeling as I do..which is kind of crappy…I do need to go to Meijers right now so I’ll come back later to continue…okay…just got back…that’s not true…been back for a while and have had my coffee and the newspapers and I think my brain is working again…have been sitting here trying to decide whether to work out or not…or what to do today…I may just make it a lazy day and do nothing but then I’d feel guilty and that would probably last until the weekend so I probably shouldn’t…I do have another one today about our governor here in Michigan and the surprise vetos issued yesterday..but, that one is for politics, not here…that’s enough for now..it is already over 85 degrees and heading for 95 today so I will have to figure out how to stay cool…or not, who knows?
