I’m trying….

Well…it has been such a struggle lately to get these out but I am going to keep trying as long as it takes….I find it funny that the right has been taken aback now that Obama has figured them out and has started to fight back where he hoped for compromise in the past….and they are just screaming about his attack on the Ryan budget and the fact that he is using numbers against them…especially since they don’t believe in numbers at all, or they failed at math in high school, I’m not sure which. It is just like any bunch of bullies, when they get challenged, they sit there and try to turn the fault for the bullying back on the victim…but I’m not calling Obama a victim…he brought a lot of this bullying on himself by trying to compromise when the right had made it clear they would not compromise on anything….it’s like the right is surprised that he is not just rolling over and taking it and they don’t know how to react to it….being exposed as the party of no ideas must hurt…and I just love it…

April 9th

Well…it was a long day yesterday…was going to shoot pool with Tom but forgot that the bars were closed…at least some of them…and one of the rear wheel bearings on the car started to make noise…but, by the time I got home, the noise had gone away….I am going to check it out today but I don’t have the tools to take it apart anymore so I’m not sure what I’m going to do…maybe just not drive it…who knows? I feel kind of crappy today but I know it’s a bug this time…so, I’m going to go back to the couch and heal up for a while….

Okay…got the workout in and feel a little better but I’m still sweating like crazy so I know I have something…I may even skip the bike ride…I did read the online papers but it still isn’t enough to get good topics so I may have to go back to the real ones to keep this thing going…yep….it is a bug….my stomach has gone to hell and I am sweating standing still….so, I am going to stop here and head back to the couch…more later…

April 8th

Well…running normally today with Man U on and last week’s Mad Men coming on in a minute…yep, a pretty boring life when those kind of things excite me…but it does help pass the time while I wait for the temp to come up enough to go out….it was cold riding out to get the paper this morning and the wind was just brutal….I did have a little fun yesterday with meeting the twins and V over at Logan’s but the rest of the night was kind of a letdown…the Wings lost in a shootout and that puts them on the road for the first round of the playoffs….okay…I’ll be back later…want to watch some of the match…

Just a few things…

Well..getting ready to watch the Wings last game of the year and thought I’d come back and talk about sports and maybe a few other things…I am kind of torn about the Wings and whether or not they should kind of tank today…if they lose today and finish in 6th, they will get a much easier west coast team than if they win and finish fourth…but then, that means 10:30 games that I won’t make it through…a conundrum to say the least…I did get the bike ride in already but I have injured my left thigh and it hurts even with ibuprofen….so maybe the cold days that are coming are a good thing and I can rest and let it heal…okay…it’s getting to 1 and the start of the game so I’ll stop here…

April 7th

Well…it was kind of lost day yesterday since I felt so crappy all day and I think I may have a bug or the allergies are flaring…have been coughing a ton and my head feels like it’s full of concrete so that can’t be from the cocktails the other night….and I feel warm but that can be from not eating enough, too, so I’m not sure what to do about it….I am running late today for no other reason than I bought the papers today and have been reading them…it is nice to have T back in town from her vacation….it just seems right…no dreams to speak of but I also slept as badly as I can remember so that is part of it…not much to do today…I do have a spider alert in the bathroom that has to be dealt with and the Wings play their last game of the season before the playoffs start next week so I have to watch that…and Ferris State is in the NCAA hockey championship game later in the day that I’ll have to watch…and maybe out for a couple with the twins later in the day…I’m still sitting here cold and sweating so there must be a cause….since I only did one yesterday, I’ll come back for another today…not sure what the topic will be yet but it will be something…more later…

Okay…a milestone passed this week and I forgot to mention it….on the 3rd, I had been doing this for two years….and almost 1600 posts….not sure if that means anything…but that’s a hell of a lot of words to write….

April 6th

Well…it was a long day yesterday and the Wings lost so that was not good…I did win at pool but the cocktails last night really did me in so this one is going to be short…really short since I’m going back to the couch right now…I’ll be back later for more after my head clears…

Okay…took the morning off and I feel much better so I thought I’d come back and do a little of this before I watch more tv today…yeah, I’m just vegging it but I am going out for a bike ride in a couple of hours so maybe I’ll have paid for the fun from yesterday…not much to do today….I was going to clean but I don’t feel like it so that’s out….and this is, too…I may be back later for another one but I may not…who knows?

Rick Santorum is still an idiot…

Well…read this little tidbit about comment that ole Rick made that quite a few of the colleges in California no longer even offer American history courses and cites this as “indoctrination” of students that keeps them from understanding America and it conservative roots….I am paraphrasing a little there…and maybe editorializing some, too….but the facts are that all of the colleges in California offer courses in American history…except one in the hotbed of liberalism that is San Francisco….and guess what that one school teaches? Yep…I’ll bet you guessed it’s a medical school, where everyone admitted already has a bachelor’s degree of some sort where they were required to take history as one of their requirements for the degree. How can this guy continue to be wrong all of the time and still be taken seriously? Geez….

April 5th

Well…it was a pretty non-descript day yesterday but I did get a surprise call from G to go out and have a couple so I did get the chance to see part of the Wings game…another win in a shootout but it was another come from behind win that we just can’t depend on happening all the time…only two games left until the playoffs start next week…but that’s not what I really wanted to talk about…just had the weirdest dreams that included my 71 Fiat 124 and a broken window regulator…my uncle that died 30 years ago and a place in Cross Village called Leggs Inn…but it was snowing at the start of the dream and by the end of it it was summer…..oh, there were hydraulic leaks included, too, which was really weird since there were no hydraulics on the car…see, I can still be really weird at times and that is a relief…I thought I had lost the ability for weirdness and that was quite troubling…not much to do today….I do have the grocery run this morning and then the Tigers have opening day this aft…then another Wings game tonight that I can watch so I can shut my brain off for the day and not worry about jobs or money….more later….

Two in a row on the courts…

Well…just a short one about the latest destruction of your personal freedoms by this radical supreme court…if you haven’t heard, the supreme court this week said it is perfectly okay for anyone that is arrested, or ticketed, or has any other interaction with the police to be strip searched if the officers think it’s okay to do it. This includes getting stopped for not wearing a seatbelt, for eating on a subway train, for spitting on the sidewalk…do I need to go on? This whole nonsense again reveals the need to elect Obama again and tip the scales in the supreme court back to common sense…back to the individual liberty that the right reveres above else (or so they say) back to the ability of citizens of the country to be let alone…to have the police work for us and not assume that all of us are hardened criminals and get treated like one….I, for one, will be writing to my congresspeople to have this travesty rectified by a law that specifically prohibits this abhorrent practice and I hope you will to….this is a hell of lot worse than being required to buy health insurance…but we’ll see that struck down as being a threat to liberty…..how much more crazy can this court get? It’s time to impeach at least two of these idiots and restore the integrity of the court….

More partisan nonsense from a right wing judge…

Well…I really didn’t plan on writing a second day about the courts but the actions of the judges appointed by repubs have gotten to the point where someone has to say something….after Obama a went on record saying he believed that the ACA should and would be upheld and if the supreme court struck it down it would need a very good reason…and not the “broccoli” defense that Scalia put forth in oral arguments…a republican appointed appeals court judge, Jerry Smith, had the gall to demand that the justice department and by extension, Obama, explain his comments in a written response to the judge…nevermind that the president gets to express his opinion about the political ramifications of court cases….this judge doesn’t have the power to request anything from the executive branch. I just marvel at the audacity of the repubs these days who spent the last 3 years decrying the “overreach” of the courts, and then cheer when one of their own vastly oversteps his power to score political points with the fox news talking points of the day. This just shows the rot that has permeated the “modern” repub party where the traditions of the separate branches of government and the checks and balances that are outlined in the constitution are just to be ignored when they sense a political advantage can be gained….and this rot has reached all the way to the supreme court and the right wing judges who are poised to impose their warped view of justice on the American people….geez…
