Well…nasty little allegations are surfacing in Wisconsin about how Scott Walker and his cronies have been using state-paid employees as political shills in direct violation of the law there….the most recent developments concern one of Walker’s top aides who is suspected of doing political campaign work for other candidates disregarding her duties to the folks in Wisconsin that pay her. These guys really hate public workers unless they can be used either overtly or secretly to further their political aims and this kind of nonsense should be remembered in 2012….that the state supposedly can’t afford to pay teachers or firemen or police, but they can afford to pay political hacks that don’t do anything to further the public good….just another instance where these liars will do or say anything to gain political advantage…geez….

Well…another night and I think I may be feeling better, finally, but I won’t know that until later….but the signs are there….and I had a good night with watching disc 2 of “Dexter” to keep the boredom at bay….ever since the flat on the bike Sunday, I have been sore all over but I even think that may be going away….but the front that I put on seems to be leaking so I’ll need to take it back apart and see what the problem is…might have to buy another tube today….probably with the leak stop in it so I won’t have to worry about flats anymore….not much to do today…it is grocery day and I’ll have to wait until after lunch to ride since it is so cold out…I will have more later since I did all of the work yesterday to get caught up…..
Haven’t done a sports one in a while….
Well….it’s been a couple of weeks or so since I did one on sports so I guess it’s time to go over a few things….one really cool thing that happened this weekend was all four of the teams that I regularly follow won..Michigan, the Tigers, the Lions, and Man U…but the greatest one was the Michigan win where they scored the winning touchdown with 2 seconds to go…and they beat Notre Dame which was just a huge bonus….and then we have the Tigers who have won 11 in a row and are 11 1/2 games up with the magic number being 6…and they are making me smile when I see them play…the Lions even survived their huge mistakes on defense to beat Tampa….but they should have beaten them by at least three touchdowns….I can’t wait to see how they do this week….
But, right now..or in about an hour…Man U plays a match in the Champions league against a team I’ve never heard of so it may be another rout…8-0 would be nice with another hat trick by Rooney or Chicharito….maybe more later….or maybe not…I did get 5 resumes out today….and I’m feeling better so maybe things are looking up? Oh, and I caught up with this one so maybe things are getting better…
America is offically stupid…
Well….with the repubs win in the NY special election yesterday, I declare that America is officially stupid and has completely lost it’s mind. This idiot that they elected campaigned on the opinion that Obama doesn’t know how to to fix the economy and the repubs do…never mind that these folks are the ones that trashed the economy in the first place and have no ideas for fixing it other than the tax cuts that have been shown to not have created even one job…and the people that put him over the top are seniors that are going to lose everything when these thugs get their hands on the last remnants of the social safety net…I’m getting ,more and more glad that I’m getting old and won’t have to see this trashing of the traditions of this great country and the institution of the “I’ve got mine…everyone else can go to hell” mantra that is the rallying cry of these tea party idiots who love the fact that people will die as a result of their policies….it is a dark day but if we keep electing these cretins, we will look back on today with fondness…geez…
September 14th
Well….a much better night last night and I feel almost human this morning….not quite 100 percent so much better…still can feel the bug, though, with that itchy skin hot feeling that comes with it but I hope that goes away later today….I am going out to get the papers and have coffee today but there will be no more sitting outside to read them with the temps still falling the next couple of days…and frost…I do not want to get the scraper out for the car…not yet, it’s way too early. Not much to do today….I do need groceries but this week it’s going to be two stores to get what I need….I am getting close to being caught up here and I will put the push on to get ahead today…so there will be politics later…or maybe even some sports with Verlander winning another one and the Tigers running away…more later…
Trying to keep up….
Well….I can’t remember such a wasted day and feeling this crappy….after I got off the bike, I didn’t do anything at all and I don’t know if that was the right thing to do…I am feeling better now with just getting off the phone with my middle son…haven’t talked to him in a couple of months and it was good to get an update from him that things are going well…I am a couple down for the month but I am making it a goal to get caught up tomorrow when I feel better…at least I hope I feel better since this bug has been hanging on for almost a week now…I don’t feel nearly as feverish and that is normally a good sign but this could be one of those that come and go for a couple of weeks…I do have to watch “Countdown” tonight to get some topic ideas but will need to write them down if I do….and I hope there will be dreams again tonight…that last one was an almost complete movie….Tom thinks it could turn into a new novel and I know I need to get writing again….more tomorrow…
Just a short one about nonsense..
Well…with the news that came out today that 1 in 6 people in the US now lives in poverty, I wonder why the President and the rest of the dems aren’t shouting from the rooftops that this is a direct result of the policies of the repubs and their cronies in business that has taken back all of the progress that has been made by workers over the past 40 years. And now, the only program that keeps more and more seniors out of those growing ranks is under attack by all of the repub presidential contenders. Another question that comes to mind in all of this debate is why are seniors who will be the most affected by the proposed shredding of this last safety net so reliably republican? I didn’t think people got that stupid as they age….at least I had hoped it wouldn’t happen….but when you get people cheering at the tea party sponsored debate when a question was asked about a 30 year old being left to die if he decided to not buy health insurance….I do fear for this country and it’s continued slide into the meanness that is part and parcel of these folks….

Well…a fun day but I still feel like crap today…I lost at pool but it was fun so it was okay….not used to going out on Monday and having Tuesday be a recovery day but that’s what it looks like…going to skip coffee and just lick the wounds for a while….so, on that note, I’m going back to the couch for rest and ice water….more later…
Okay, I’m going to have to stop going out until I get over this bug…have felt really crappy all day today and need to get over it….so, I’m going to be good the rest of the week until I have a couple with G thursday….I did get out on the bike today and found out I really don’t like the new front tire…it slides quite easily and make the bike handle really strange…so, I’ll get another one later in the week and use this one for a spare…it was kind of weird on the trail today with swarms of grasshoppers everywhere that were banging off me as I went through them…I will try to get going and read some of the online papers to get a topic for a political one…
September 12th
Well…a day of not much yesterday….did watch the Lions win but they didn’t do it easily….and I am going to be the first one to say I’ve had enough of this 9/11 overkill…how does a wound heal if you keep reopening it? I understand it was traumatic for many, many people but when do you get to the point where you stop letting that tragic event define you? I think we would be much better off if we treated it like an earthquake or some other natural disaster and just move on….not much to do today..I do have to get the new tire for the bike and the normal stuff….still not feeling that great and it will probably be another veg day until I feel better….more later…
September 11th
Well…this is the second try at this one…my internet was down when I started it so the draft wasn’t saved…have to try to remember what I wrote but I think it wasn’t much…I was a little irritated by the outage but it really never happens so I just have to let it go….I did have a flat on the bike again today and had to walk back about 4 miles and that should have irritated me some but it didn’t for some reason and I am home and waiting for the ham to cook so I can have a nice lunch….it was a nice day yesterday with going out to see part of the Michigan game with C and D but I still have that bug that has been making me sweat just sitting here and the rest of the symptoms are coming on with a sore throat and coughing….there was one good thing about getting the flat…I found that the front tire is worn out and had a big slit in the sidewall that could have failed and caused a huge crash….and it gives me an excuse to not go out again today….so, I’m going to read the online papers and have a big glass of water…more later…
