Well…with the vote in the senate today on codifying roe into federal law, and every repub voting against it, the only conclusion that can be drawn is that repubs don’t think women have inherent rights like men an don’t think they deserve them. The next question is what are the dems going to do about it? We really can no longer just wring our hands and blame other people for what we can’t do even though the structure of the senate puts us at a huge disadvantage and gives the small, rural states an effective veto of what over 70% of the people want…and that is to preserve the right to an abortion that was decided in Roe. So, what do we do about it? First, stop ever thinking the repubs will do the right thing for once and vote to protect their constituents…that is not going to happen…so we need to plan how to get things done without them…and we need to get the message out of who they really are and hammer them about it every day…but not the piecemeal approach that just doesn’t work in the media environment we have…but find a damn theme and pound on that daily with a set of daily talking points so that message will get reported and repeated across all media whenever any reporter talks to a dem….and then go out and talk to people and explain why the promises the dems made during the election are not being kept…that the repubs control enough of the government and the kinda dems like manchin won’t allow the filibuster to be killed so the agenda can’t be passed…and then make it clear that the only thing that will change that is for the people to elect more dems to the senate so we never have to talk about Manchin again…so dems, get after it…show some righteous outrage for a change…there is no civility left in politics and no matter what you do you are going to be attacked by the right so you might as well get something for the attacks….

Pregnancy checkpoints?
Well…don’t know if you have been following the proposed new laws attacking women that are in the pipeline in the US when Roe falls, but if you substituted China, Russia, North Korea, or Iran into the story you it would fit just as well. One of the worst of these is a proposal from a repub, of course, that forbids women from traveling out of state when they are pregnant since they could be going to a state that still allows abortions….and how would they enforce that? By pregnancy checkpoints where every car with a woman in it is stopped and the women have to prove they are not pregnant before they can leave the state…and the only way to do that would be to take a pregnancy test. Now, I’m sure you’re saying “they could never get away with that”….and maybe before the right wing takeover of the courts it would be true…but since that has happened, the treatment of women as second class citizens is the biggest goal of the right and they have no problem with allowing these restrictions…..like Mississippi that has already passed a law that makes it illegal for a woman to leave the state for an abortion and allows anyone to sue the women and anyone who helps them for 10,000 dollars…just like the Texas law the SC left in place. So now I guess the constitution means nothing anymore and it’s gutting will not stop with abortion….so if any women are here reading this today, please get out to vote in the fall and let’s keep any more of these assholes from being elected…geez…
Poor babies…
Well…cripes I guess “the vapors” are a thing again and it has the repubs just fainting they are so aghast at the people protesting at the idiot Kavanaugh’s house for his support of the overturning of Roe…well, poor babies, get used to it…you steal three SC seats and are going to make women second class citizens in this country and you expect us to just sit there and be civil? How civil were your cronies who attacked abortion clinics and doctors across this country? How civil were you when your buddies harassed women trying to get healthcare? You ain’t seen nothing yet…when almost 70% of the country wants Roe left alone but you christian fascists want it gone so you can control women just so the “supply of infants” in this country will go up and you rich white folks can have pretty new babies…what the hell do you expect? When an illegitimate court destroys the constitution to advance one religion’s ideas of a woman being only a “vessel” for giving birth, what the hell do you expect? There will be no civility until the three “justices” appointed by trump are gone and we return this country to the rule of law and not the rule of hate….geez…
Alito’s ruling is even worse than we thought…
Well…as a day has passed and people have started to read the entire bullshit mountain that is Alito’s ruling…it is stunning that one of the reasons he uses for outlawing abortion is the fact there is not a big enough “domestic supply of infants” for rich people to adopt so the government is going to force women to give birth to supply them…so, does that mean that if there is not a big enough supply of “domestic kidneys” for transplants that the government can now force people with two good ones to give one to someone the government chooses? Once he rules that American women’s bodies no longer belong to them, it follows that no one’s body belongs to them and it can be used any way the government sees fit…does this seem familiar to you? How about Nazi Germany where anyone who was not in the Nazi party could have everything they have taken away from them and be put in camps that the Nazis would use for medical experimentation. That’s exactly what is going on here and if you think you are safe because you are a religious white guy, think again….these assholes are shredding the constitution and every damn person in this country should be in the streets…
Ron DeSantis, sooper genius…
Well…I started out to do one on the repub from Indiana that won his primary from jail after he admitted to murdering his wife and dumping her body in a creek….more typical repub than you know…but, I wanted to take on a different idiot repub this afternoon…it turns out Ron DeSantis, the repub governor of Florida, is a soooper genius when it comes to investing the money from Florida’s pension fund…this fund had almost 300 million dollars in it that genius Ron had invested…guess where? Yep, in Russian assets that he was warned about before Russia invaded Ukraine…but this soooper genius thinks he is smarter than everyone and left all 300 million invested there since Putin wouldn’t do anything to hurt repubs, would he? At least that is what genius Ron thought and now guess what happened…go on, guess. Yep, the fund has lost 200 million dollars of the 300 million that he invested and is on track to be worthless in the next month…and even with that, ole Ron still won’t even try to salvage the rest of the fund…after all, he doesn’t think that the state should provide pensions at all so who cares if the peons lose all the money they put in….I wonder what will happen when he and the state get sued by the thousands of retirees who are now going to be broke and the state is found to be liable for the losses? I guess he’ll get the money from the same place he is going to get the money to pay off Disney’s bonds that he has taken on by dissolving the special status for Disney to attack them for opposing his don’t say gay law…he is going to have to raise taxes on the entire state and Floridians still love him even after that…a state full of sooper geniuses…geez…
Alito really is nuts…
Well…as more and more comes out about Alito’s screwy ruling that there is no right to privacy or abortions in this country, it get worse and worse and shows how he is just writing anything because no one can do anything to stop him…one of his key sources for finding that the constitution doesn’t protect women’s rights is from some random guy who wrote in 1742 that abortions were evil and against god or some such nonsense…and the only thing you need to know is this same guy he reveres so much killed women who he thought were witches…and that fits right in with Alito’s contempt for women and their rights. Alito goes on to falsely assert that there are no “extra” rights and if they are not in print in the constitution, they don’t exist…and this is in direct conflict with the 9th amendment where the framers wrote that just because it’s not in the constitution, does not mean those rights don’t exist….they just assumed that as time went on, the country would figure out how to expand the rights of all citizens and use the law to guarantee them…but they didn’t count on such a corrupt court that would ignore the constitution and supplant it with their own will and corrupt thoughts…what this ruling does is put every right in the crosshairs and the repubs are salivating to get more cases to the court that would eliminated the EPA, gay marriage, women’s right to vote, and every other one that is not in the constitution…and Alito conveniently forgets the 14th amendment, too, that guarantees equal protection under the law…now, I don’t see any governmental body trying to to tell men what they can do with their bodies so how is that equal? The founders warned of a demagogue who would take power for himself and destroy this nation….and now we have one….
Four dead in Ohio….
Well…as I do every year, I do a short one on the anniversary of the Kent State massacre where 4 student exercising their constitutional rights were murdered by the Ohio National Guard and 12 other students were shot and injured .I’m going to keep this one short as just a memorial, but we just need to look around at what’s happening to women’s rights to see that this is a deeply flawed country, and it is not by accident…this is the design that the repubs have been working for since before Kent State…that no one has any rights except those granted by the white men who run the country and they can be taken away on a whim so don’t cross them…I’ve lived too long through too much of this shit…I’m tired…
Now John Roberts wants an investigation?
Well…John Roberts unmasked himself…again…as just another repub hack when he called for an FBI investigation of who leaked the Alito pile of crap that is going to decimate women’s rights in this country….and he is just so appalled that someone would hurt the “credibility” of the supreme court by doing that…hey, John…that damn ship sailed as you sat there silent as Thomas’s wife was deeply involved in the coup attempt and many, many other huge conflicts of interest that you thought was just frickin peachy…and you sat there and helped Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, and Barrett lie their way onto the court…as you sat there and said nothing as over 4500 credible tips on Kavanaugh’s unfitness for the court were ignored by the FBI as they did a sham investigation to vet him for the SC…nothing…not one damn word because you sat in on the strategy sessions on how to get that right wing hack through just so you and your unqualified cronies could impose your wildly unpopular theocratic bullshit on the entire country that the repubs could never do through legislation…so you sat there while the oligarchs of this country spent over 100 million dollars paying people off to vote for them…and now you are outraged? John, you can just go right to hell and take your “reputation” with you…you will go down in history as the most corrupt Chief Justice who presided over the most corrupt SC in the history of the country…and you deserve every bit of it….geez…
Susan Collins was “mislead”…
Well…right on cue, Susan Collins tries to shift the blame for the decimation of Roe to her being “mislead” by Kavanaugh and Gorsuch when they baldly lied to her face when they told her that they wouldn’t vote to overturn Roe if she were to vote to confirm them to the court…but, here’s the deal, everyone in this country but Susan Collins knew they were lying…as I said while the hearings for both of these right wing liars were going on, they were sitting there in the senate smirking all the time since they knew they were lying, too, and they knew the fix was in and they could basically say anything they wanted and they would be confirmed…so when Collins says she was mislead, it’s all a bunch of bullshit…she was in on the meetings where the whole scam was discussed by mcconnell and the rest of the repubs and that’s probably where the whole “Susan Collins is concerned” act was thought up to give her cover for her next election…so, just shut the hell up Susan…I won’t use the term of respect of senator because you don’t deserve it…you’ve just hurt 51% of Americans and no lie you can come up with is going to change that…
Alito is the leaker…
Well..with the “leaking” of Alito’s misogynistic, christo fascist bullshit of an opinion that is going to destroy 50 years of progress on women’s right to control their own bodies, the speculation has been who “leaked” the draft opinion…what court clerk did it? Was it a conservative or a liberal? In my opinion, it was none of the clerks, it was Alito himself who engineered the leak since he is an attention seeking asshole who has been trying to overturn Roe his entire career…and he revels in the power and attention the leak will give him and cements his retirement as there are many far right wing organizations who are salivating to pay him for doing what they paid him for in the first place…to put uppity women back on their place and give the control they have had for 50 years back to the white men who run this country….this is the simple explanation and all you need to do is to read some of his dissents in cases where he was in the minority to draw a straight line to today…it has been his purpose since day one and do you think he would give up his chance to show women who is in control? The destruction of the SC is complete with this ruling…no, I shouldn’t even call it a ruling since there is no hint of the law in it…it is a bullshit political statement with no basis in precedent or the constitution…but that never stopped him before and won’t now….
