Well…if there is election cheating going on, you know it will be repubs doing it…and now their latest scheme in states with repub AGs is to keep Biden off the ballot in their states because the dem nominating convention is after the August 7th deadline in Ohio…now in 2020 when both the dem and repub conventions were after the deadline, so the repubs worked with the dems to pass legislation that would get around the date….but this time, since the repub convention will be before the deadline, the AG and the repub party has said they won’t change the law again and biden can’t be on the ballot…and they are pulling this same crap in Alabama and other red states…so you know…cheating…since they can’t win with a loser like the idiot trump at the top of the ticket…now, I think the DNC should convene a special early convention an just nominate Biden right now sine he has won every primary by a huge margin and slap the dam repubs in the face…geez…

Abortion is still the issue…
Well…the results are in and the dems did pretty damn good in the elections yesterday…expanding their house margins in Pennsylvania, flipping the house in Virginia, keeping the Governors office in Kentucky, and voters enshrined abortion rights into the constitution in Ohio…and that one was by around 60% of voters…so abortion is still the issue across the country and everywhere that it has been on the ballot since Roe fell has passed it…so the dems need to keep hammering on that fact…polling says that almost 70% of the people want those rights to be returned…even in red states that are doing their best to criminalize women’s healthcare….like the new laws being passed all over Texas that makes it illegal to travel through many counties to seek reproductive care….I have to thank the folks that worked tirelessly to defeat the repub cheating in Ohio as they threw everything but the kitchen sink at it to try lie to people and saying that the moon will fall if people voted to protect women’s rights…so, let’s keep it up, no matter what the polls say…We can take back the house next year and expand our margin in the senate…and Biden has said if they do that and re-elect him, Roe will be codified as law in January 2025…let’s do it…
Rigging didn’t work in Ohio…
Well…the repubs know they have no ideas that anyone wants so of course they are still trying to rig elections across the country…just yesterday, their attempt to do more rigging in Ohio failed by 13 points…they knew that the abortion rights initiative that is on the ballot this fall that would change their constitution will probably pass and would make the 6 week ban the repubs jammed through after Dobbs moot…so instead of listening to the will of the people, the repubs tried to change the way citizen initiatives are run, requiring that they get 60% of the vote instead of 50% and requiring that signatures be gathered in every county…making the process so hard that no initiative would ever make the ballot again…and they scheduled the vote in the summer where they hoped that no one would show up…but, as across the rest of the US, the will of the people won and now reproductive rights will pass in the fall election…and abortion bans continue to be a loser for the repubs when over 70% of the people in the US think it should be safe and legal….so, keep it up repubs and you’ll never win another election…that would be joyous…geez…
Citizens strike again…
Well…it looks like people in red states are starting to get the idea that even though the repubs have gerrymandered the states so that they are in control even when getting less votes than dems, the people in some of them are striking back with citizen initiatives that puts popular laws in place that the repubs are blocking…as we did here in Michigan when we voted to put women’s rights into our constitution, the voters of Ohio just turned in double the number of signatures needed to get restoring women’s right on the ballot…at present, it only takes 50.1% of the vote to make these initiatives the law in Ohio, but of course the repubs want to take the people’s say away by changing the passing percentage to 60, making it much tougher for citizens to have their say…so, another citizen initiative is on the ballot for August 8 that would restore the people’s rights…but since this is a single issue election, the turnout will probably be too small to pass it….and that will doom the women’s rights initiative that will be voted on in November…typical repub bullshit…they can’t win with unpopular ideas so take away the rights of citizens to challenge them…man I hat repubs…geez…
They really don’t want the voice of the people heard…
Well…with the repubs on the losing end of many popular citizens initiatives like the ones in Michigan that took away gerrymandering from them and enshrined a woman’s right to control her own body along with protecting LGBTQ rights here, in other states they see this as the danger that it is too them…and what is their response? Not to bow to the will of the people and allow the majority to get what they support, nope their newest attacks on democracy is to take away the rights of the people to even be heard by citizen initiative in red states that they control to ensure minority control of their states. In Ohio, where abortion rights have 60% support of the public, and the constitution give people the right to put changes on the ballot, they are trying to change the constitution to make it almost impossible for supporters of abortion rights or opponents of gerrymandering to get those popular things on the ballot and then in the constitution….as I’ve said many times before, the only way the repubs can win is to cheat…that’s how they controlled the government here in Michigan for 40 years…by cheating until the people said enough and got rid of the gerrymandering that made us one of the worst state in the US…and now they want to do the same thing to Ohio…and it’s nothing but cheat all the time for them…since they have no ideas that anyone wants anymore…let’s get rid of them…and right now…geez…
Don’t be fooled Ohio…
Well…as I sit here waiting for the pizza to warm up, I thought I’d do one of these before I head out to the beach….Ohioans, don’t be fooled over the next few months when your airwaves will be flooded by ads for the right wing asshole Jd Vance that will try to lie and lie to you and make him into a reasonable person…but the only thing you need to know is that the 28 million dollars that are to be spent come from a political slush fund run by mitch mcconnell…you know the guy…he stole 3 supreme court seats that led to women losing their right to control their own bodies and now with some states trying to ensure that these rights are restored…that, by the way, over 70% of the people in this country want…mitch is trying to pack the senate with trump wannabees that would pass federal laws that would make sure the states couldn’t do it…that guy…and Vance’s opponent, Tim Ryan, would do everything in his power to protect those rights along with social security and medicare…so there is not really any choice to be made here…trump junior or a fighter for the people…Ohioans, don’t be fooled..vote for Ryan…

Well…the repub cult is full of sick bastards who just revel in the fact they are sick bastards…if you haven’t heard, a 10 year old girl in Ohio was raped and became pregnant from it and those assholes in Ohio tried their hardest to force this 10 year old child to give birth to the rapists baby but she was able to be taken to Indiana where the abortion was performed…and in another sick twist, fox news hyped and hyped that this girl didn’t exist and it was all a lie by the left in response to the gutting of Roe…once someone was arrested for the rape, they moved on to what about the father’s rights? Didn’t he have any say in the abortion? Yeah, sick bastards all of them…and to compound this sickness, now the AG of Indiana wants to investigate the doctor who performed the abortion…saying that “there is a strong public interest in understanding if any woman is having an abortion in our state”….this is exactly why woman’s right need to enshrined the constitution of every state…so the christofascists can’t decide that there is a “strong public interest” for the state to interfere in any woman’s decisions….just like is going to happen here in Michigan….it’s going to be on the ballot this fall…and it is going to pass…geez…
Back to the “let’s scare em” playbook
Well…I am just appalled at the stupidity or the willful lying about the auto industry that came out of ole Mitt’s campaign yesterday….if it’s stupidity, then ole Mitt is not the sharp businessman that he purports to be, and if it’s lying…yeah, I know, he lies all the time so what is the big deal? Yesterday, in a speech in Ohio, ole Mitt came on stage and attacked Obama by saying that Chrysler is going to move all Jeep production to China because of too much regulation, yadda, yadda….but in the report that he quoted for his information, it was clear that Chrysler said no such thing…they said they were going to look at restarting Jeep production in China for the Chinese market….and they came out with a letter to ole Mitt saying that it was just an overheated fantasy that they were moving any production…and then stated they were ADDING 1,100 jobs in Detroit…something that ole Mitt didn’t want to hear since those jobs are a direct result of the auto bailout that he vehemently opposed. As always, ole Mitt didn’t think about the workers in those plants in Toledo that he said were closing…he didn’t think about the shock that would come from losing everything…he only thought of them as a prop for his campaign and as a way to get votes…what an amoral piece of crap ole Mitt is…geez…
Have to talk about the election…
Well…finally some good news for the country with the defeat of the radical right wing agenda in both Mississippi and in Ohio…in Mississippi…the people came to their senses and stopped the nonsense of “personhood” which would have set the cause of women’s rights back to the bad old 60′s….one of the right’s biggest goals…to repeal or continue to chip away at reproductive rights that women have had to fight with their lives for…in Ohio, the Koch brothers attack on organized labor and the middle class was soundly defeated by the overturning of the draconian law that the extreme right jammed through the legislature against the will of the people. It’s one of those things that the right just doesn’t get…that just because they win an election, it doesn’t mean they can only govern for their own supporters and the rich and corporations who bought them the election. With the advent of the “Occupy” movement and these election results…there may be a glimmer of hope that the 99% of us that can’t buy elections may be able to take our country back….I hope so anyway…
Still no big topic…
Well…I am still trying to find a big topic for today but until then, I think I’ll just do some short ones again….I find it funny that Rick Perry is now the repub frontrunner…it makes me think of a pack of dogs that are shown a new ball and immediately drop the old one to play with the new one…I think they are easily distracted by shiny new objects and, for some reason, that Texas tough-guy nonsense resonates with the righties. As they say in Texas…”that boy is all hat and no cattle”…hmmmmm….what else….I wonder when the repubs are going to blame hurricane Irene on Obama? I wonder when Obama is going to start being a democrat again? I wonder when George Will is going to get a brain? He asserts that because the dems didn’t take back the senate in Wisconsin, that liberals are going to constantly be defeated….George, do you know that Ohio exists? There, the liberals that you hate so much have put the Kasich nonsense about union stripping on the ballot for the voters to decide on…and the polling shows that over 60% of the population there want the repub ideas repealed….and Kasich is now trying to negotiate to keep this measure off the ballot. So, no matter what ole George says…we are coming back in 2012 and might just make the repubs a permanent minority…we can all hope…
One last thing…Greg Sargent at the Washington Post took ole George to task for the outright lies that are in his column today….the only way that the Wisconsin repubs got elected was that they concealed what they were going to do….if they would have campaigned on their union busting attack on the middle class, there is no way they would have been elected…and that is the truth George…
