Well…in a nice surprise, my ballot for the November election came in the mail yesterday….I am a little excited about getting it filled out and dropped back off but I’m not sure where yet…there are drop boxes right over on Leonard but with the assholes that infest the repub party these days, I wouldn’t put it past them to pour gasoline in the boxes to make sure the ballots can’t be counted. So, I think I may just take a ride downtown and drop it off at the city clerks office in person so no one can screw with it. Okay…that may be hyperbole..a little…look, you have heard me plead with people to get out to vote…and with how easy Michigan has made it with dems in control of the SOS’s office, there really isn’t any reason to not vote…and if you’re here reading this…you probably hate the idiot trump with the white hot passion that I do, and there is still time to get an absentee ballot if you don’t want to vote in person…but damn, you need to vote…just in this election…just this one…this one will determine the fate of this country and everyone should do what they can to save it….and that is NOT hyperbole…please vote….

He’s leaving after the election…
Well…I am damn tired of all the hand wringing as the idiot trump bleats out of his lie hole that he may not leave the WH if he loses the election…hey, I’ve got news for him and for all of the alarmists that think trump is some kind of super genius to talk that way…he’s leaving…on the 21st of January next year, no matter what he says, his control of the government ends..that is written into the constitution and you can bet there will be enough people in the government who will do their jobs and transfer power to Biden…and that will leave trump with nothing but handcuffs and a jail cell in his future…so let’s stop giving idiot boy free publicity by constantly talking about…all the does is normalize trump’s unamerican behavior and makes people think it’s possible he might stay on…it’s not going to happen…especially if we get off our asses and vote to make the election a landslide for Joe….it’s up to us….
Even Putin thinks trump is going to lose…
Well…with the polls holding steady only 5 weeks from the election, more and more pundits are saying what we all hope for…that trump is going to lose the election…and the other day, it seems even Putin thinks idiot boy is going down and has started to bail on him by trying to soften the response that Biden is going to do when he is elected. Putin knows that he has had a useful dupe in idiot boy and has been able to do whatever he wants since he knows that trump won’t do anything against him, but Biden is different…he will listen to his intelligence folks and then take action against anyone who screws with us and our elections…that’s why Putin just floated the idea that there needs to be an agreement between the US and Russia not to interfere in each other’s elections or other internal matters…trying to get out in front of any action by Biden to retaliate for proven Russian meddling in our elections. This is what is keeping Putin up at night, losing his useful idiot in the WH and the hellstorm that is going to happen when someone who is not an idiot is elected and Russia and Putin has to pay for what trump has let him do…or even helped him do. To paraphrase a pundits comment during the Vietnam war about Walter Cronkite…when you’ve lost Walter, you’ve lost America…when trump loses Putin, he’s lost period…geez…vote!
Another reason to get rid of the electoral College…
Well…if there already weren’t enough reasons to get rid of the racist electoral college that has given the past three repub *presidents the office when they got less votes than their competitor, the latest is the little known and never used clause that says that the governor of any state can seat his own slate of electors and ignore the votes of the people. And trump and his cronies have seized on that clause and are setting up the process to bribe governors of swing states where trump loses to do just that…so all of the repub bleating about “voter fraud” that is bad, bad, bad unless repubs do it…but we knew that, didn’t we? I really do hope trump tries it…there will be rioting in the street from all voters who suddenly find that their votes didn’t count at all with trump stealing the election. So, when we win…and we are going to win, the electoral college has got to go and we need to make the popular vote what elects presidents…it is the only fair way to support “one person, one vote” that is at the heart of our society…what’s left of it….geez…don’t these guys ever get tired of cheating?

Well…yeah, I’m running really late today but I have an excuse…did two bike rides and spent 6 hours painting the last awning today…what a pain with all of the detail…oh, the pretty cool thing…after RBG’s death Friday night, the dems have raised over 135 million dollars from small donors across this country to put toward defeating the cheating, hypocrite repubs who have vowed to fill RGB’s seat before the election. One of the names being mentioned is a woman who thinks that being a lawyer and a judge is just a means to and end…to do god’s will here on Earth…can you guess how she’ll vote on a woman’s right to choose? Let’s make this really, really clear…to everyone who has health insurance because of Obamacare, it is gone after this seat on the SC is stolen…to every woman who thinks the government has no right to control what you do with your body…that is gone after this seat is stolen….to everyone who thinks that legalized religious discrimination is wrong…that will be allowed after this seat is stolen…to everyone who thinks that voting rights are important to this democracy…they’re gone too after this seat is stolen. So, at this point, the only thing we can do is get out and vote these assholes out…and then spend the next 4 years undoing all the damage they’ve done….vote, vote, vote….it’s all we have left…
Pack the courts…
Well…the shortsighted asshole who runs the repub party, Mitch McConnell, is going to jam through another SC justice before the election to replace RBG…never mind that the hypocrite in chief running the senate had a “rule” that said that you can’t approve a new justice in the last year of a president’s term…but we all know that only applies to dem presidents….so I say let him…and then we need to get out to vote to ensure that we take back the WH and senate…then play some damn hardball for a change…and that would mean expanding the SC to 15 justices and appointing liberal justices to all 6 of the new seats…after all, moscow mitch has been tearing the rules of the senate up to jam through unqualified judges for the past 4 years and we need to grow a spine in response. The number of SC justices is set by law, not by the constitution and all we would have to do is pass a new law saying that there are now 15…but, let’s not stop there…if the repubs want to break every convention to get their right wing asshole judges installed to go against the will of the people…especially on Roe v. Wade where 70% of the American people want it left alone…then we need to respond in kind and expand every damn court and blunt the damage that the repubs have done. Then, we need a real investigation of Brett Kavanaugh and impeach the lying sexual assaulter and get him off the court….we need to let the repubs know that if they jam through this RBG replacement, there will be hell to pay….but we need the entire government in our hands to make them pay…so, get out and vote…

Well…the thing we were all hoping would not happen until after the election has happened…Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died last night at the age of 87. I am filled with despair today for this country…no one did more to protect the rights of every American than justice Ginsburg did for the last 27 years…she was out in front fiercely protecting our LGBTQ friends and family from the discrimination and hate that the right wing justices tried and tried to codify into law by giving religious people the right to discriminate against them under the guise of “religious freedom” while RBG read the constitution as meaning equal treatment under the law is for everyone, not just rich, white, straight people….she carried the hopes of people all over this country that someone would do something to keep the hard fought gains in equality that people had bled for…and she took it upon her tiny shoulders to carry this country through these dark times but the time came to lift that burden from her shoulders and let her find the peace that we all deserve. RIP RBG….we will all miss you…and thank you for showing us what dignity and perseverence looks like…now it’s time for the rest of us to pick up the fight….
Let’s compare…
Well…have been trying to figure out what to write about today and have finally come up with a topic….there were two town halls held in the presidential campaign this week and they could not have been more different…trump’s was filled with lies and lethargy as he sat on a chair looking like he wanted to be anywhere else than listening to real people with real problems hold his feet to the fire for his incompetence and stupidity. But at Biden’s, we saw what makes Joe the best person to go up against trump. Answering all the questions with details of policy and showing his trademark depth and empathy…and if you didn’t already know it, it showed he really does care for this country and the people in it…and he made sure to emphasize that he would be president for all of the people, not just those in the blue states. Watching Biden’s performance must have sent a few of trump’s cronies into shock since they have been trying so damn hard to label him as feeble minded and out of it…and sent the debate preppers into abject terror of what trump is going to face in the debates. It was so cool to see a normal America on the stage with Biden…not the “American carnage” and hate that trump spews and foments every damn day and have hope that if we elect Biden that things could start back toward normal and not live every day as if we all have PTSD. How could anyone who watched the idiot boy this week think he gives a damn about anyone but himself? That is the contrast that Biden’s campaign need to hammer on every day…and keep it up…
Bill Barr thinks he’s king…
Well…just when you thought Bill Barr couldn’t get any worse, he open’s his mouth and spew more garbage into our air. Just the other day, Barr came out and justified his interference in the Michael Flynn case by saying that he can do anything he wants in any case in the US…and he can investigate anyone he wants and the rules that every AG in history has followed don’t apply to him….he can charge anyone he wants and the FBI, instead of being the independent investigative service that it has always been is his own personal police force that he can use any way he wants and they have a personal duty to him and not the oath they take to defend the constitution. This is some pretty fascist stuff right here and you know whey he said it…he is getting ready to announce bogus investigations into Biden with information that came from a Russian spy and he’s coordinating with Ron Johnson and rudy to get that done before the election…the so called “October surprise” that is supposed to tip the election to the idiot trump. Oh, and to show how batshit crazy Barr is, he went off at a speech at the ultra right wing Hillsdale college here in Michigan that lockdowns and requirement that people wear masks are the greatest threat to civil liberties in the history of the country to which the historian John Meachem replied that he was just so much bullshit, to paraphrase. This is what is at stake in this year’s election…fascism or our democracy….should be an easy choice, huh?
Daniel Dale should get combat pay….
Well…yeah, it has been a busy day and I am running late again…but I did want to talk about the fiasco of a town hall that ABC put on last night with the idiot trump being asked questions by a group of undecided voters…and let me interject right now…if you are an undecided voter after the last 4 years of the trump shitshow, you are not smart enough to vote and probably shouldn’t. Of course trump lied and lied and then lied some more…and that kept Daniel Dale busy, again, oh, probably should say that Dale is the fact checker for CNN who should get combat pay for covering idiot boy every day…but, his work is pretty easy at this point since trump lies about the same thing all the time…pre-existing conditions? The “great” repub plan to cover them is two weeks away just as it was in May, and as it was last year and the year before that…reminds me of the old saw about fusion power…it is always 30 years away and has been for 50 years…this time, the host of the town hall…George S actually called trump on his lies and made it clear that trump and his cronies are in court right now to remove coverage for them as they try to dismantle Obamacare…and that put everyone in shock since he is not known for actually doing journalism….oh, one jaw dropping part of the night was when asked about why he didn’t institute a mask mandate for the entire country, trump asked why Biden didn’t do it…and he had to be reminded that Biden isn’t president and he is…man, the debates are going to be lit if this is a preview of trump’s performance….let’s just leave it by saying that yes, this was shitshow and whoever thought this was a good idea in the WH is probably packing up his desk right now….geez….
