Well…up at 3:04 and then out of bed at 5:55 and I know I’m going to feel that later….slept okay and got to the edge of dreams last night but still just the edge and that is a little frustrating….would just love to have an entertaining dream night one more time…watched “The Banshees of Inisherin” last night and I am still trying to figure out what the heck it was about…change? I did find out one thing this morning…Joe Walsh’s middle name is Fidler…must be a family name of some sort….didn’t get much done yesterday but cook and I have zero motivation to do much more today….I’m going to drag myself to clean the bathroom today but not until much more coffee….it’s a leftover day today so I don’t have to cook but I do need to plan for meals for the rest of the week…have been sort of successful limiting my calories since I’ve been off the bike and haven’t gained as much weight as I expected and I hope I can keep it up for two more weeks…I do need to get out for another walk today but I don’t want to think about that right now…not much to do today…just going to wing it for a bit and have more coffee and head over to Mastodon for a post or two….damn, I’m worn out….more later…

Well…yeah, I know I haven’t been doing a lot of political stuff lately but I will try to find a topic this afternoon…one thing I did want to talk about is the ribs I grilled this morning…making lunch kind of brunch I guess…I did not know how much I missed grilling until I had a small slab of ribs with some Bullseye barbecue sauce on them…I do need to spend 50 bucks here soon to buy a new tank and get it filled but I have bills of over 5 grand coming due in Feb so to spend even more money is going to be kind of tough…I did grill enough ribs so I have enough for another meal tomorrow but I guess I’ll have to take another bag out of the freezer…more later…

Well…that was an odd bit of sleep last night…up at 3 and 5 and then out of bed at 6:22 but I feel okay this morning…even went out in the snow to get the paper and I’m glad they hadn’t salted the roads yet so no extra rust on the car that I have to worry about…I did get out to get a two mile walk in yesterday and I went downtown past the arena and over to Hackley Park, then to the library so now I know I can walk to all of the places I want to go…may even walk down for a hockey game later this winter…and I’m not really sore from it but I did have to heat my back when I got back here since that used a bunch of new muscles I hadn’t used in a while…I am going to get some cleaning done today since the bathroom needs it and it will only take a half hour or so to scrub it….and the kitchen could use a once over but I don’t want to think about that…I did get the first batch of ribs marinated overnight and will put them on the grill this afternoon and I hope I have enough gas left in the tank to get through them….not much to do today…just coffee, soccer and maybe some football later along with cleaning but right now all I want to do is sit here and read a bit…more later….

Well..damn, I’m becoming a slug around here and I don’t like it one bit…haven’t done anything today but write a bit, eat lunch, and watch soccer but I think I’m going to put the new shoes on and head out for a walk after the soccer match is over in 15 minutes…it is still only 30 out there so I’m going to put the long underwear, stocking hat, and gloves on when I go and then we’ll see how long I’ll be out…it will be nice to get some fresh air and try out the shoes and it won’t be too strenuous…I think I’ll go downtown and just look around some but using these new muscles is going to hurt tomorrow…it looks like I’m going to have to rent an auger to clear out my main drain downstairs some time this week if the drain cleaner doesn’t work…it costs almost 60 bucks to rent one for 4 hours but it would probably be 200 to have a plumber come out…oh, well…

Well…running about on time with getting up at 5:04 and out of bed at 6:35….damn, I feel worn out today and all want to do is go back to bed…but I won’t…just started the first cup of coffee and I’m waiting for the first soccer match to start at 7:30….I am a little sore this morning and it has to be from the tossing and turning from trying to sleep last night…the comforter was tied into knots so it must have been fitful sleep last night and that sucks….I did figure out the water on the floor downstairs yesterday and I think I’m going to have to rent an auger to clean the main drain out but that won’t be til next week…I did pour two bottles of drain cleaner down it last night since I got them on clearance last week and that may help but I’m not holding my breath….didn’t get anything done yesterday but break down the 10 pound lump of  frozen ribs that I bought and get them in the freezer…and I need to marinate the ones I left out so I can grill them tomorrow…not much to do today…I do want to get out for a walk later to try out the new shoes but not if it’s 29 degrees…so, I guess I’ll watch soccer and have more coffee….more later….

Well…this has turned into a “Vinyl Friday” and I haven’t even turned the tv on yet today and it’s after noon….have “Barnstorm” by Joe Walsh on right now and I had forgotten how good this is…probably Joe’s best work and I’m going to play it all the way through…have done CSNY, The Doobie Brothers, Lee Michaels and now this one….feels like that kind of a day and felt transported back to my first house..I am playing the same equipment after all…

Well…sitting here listening to my vinyl copy of “Four Way Street” and even though I’ve heard it thousands of times, I still think it’s one of the best albums ever done…and the flood of memories that comes with it has take my breath away..and the comments the guys make in between songs still makes me laugh…and I have had this one for 52 years…I bought it when it first came out in 1971…kind of  a melancholy morning with David’s passing yesterday…not sure why it’s effected me so much but maybe it’s one of those days when I have to just feel and let it go at that…

Well…the pattern didn’t hold today with getting out of bed at 6:44 but I  sure don’t feel like I slept at all….it was such bad news to hear of David Crosby dying and it highlights my own mortality as I get older…not sure how long I have left and the thought enters my head at times that today could be my last one…I’ve been okay with that for quite a while now but it still sucks as the people who have been part of my life so long gradually disappear…oh, well…I do need to run an errand this morning to get some riblets that I want to grill tomorrow and I hope I have enough gas for the grill to get through a batch…didn’t do much but run an errand yesterday and watch a little soccer and today should be the same…but there is no soccer on so I’ll have to amuse myself some other way….my teeth and back still aren’t hurting and that confuses me a bit….but I’ll take it….haven’t had the heating pad on all week…it fell behind the couch and I should dig it out….it’s snowing out there right now and I hope they haven’t salted the roads yet so the car doesn’t rot even more…not much to do today….just going to sit here and have coffee for a while and post over on Mastodon but I feel a little depressed this morning and can’t get going right now…but I will at some point….more later….

Well…had an okay day today but didn’t do much but run out and buy myself some treats for tonight and I’m looking forward to it…I even got a few things done…not a lot but a few and I hope to do more tomorrow after I run an errand to get a 10 pound box of ribs for 11 bucks at save a lot….my back has been okay today and even my teeth are painless and that is a little strange….I really do hope that the rain stops so I can get out for a walk tomorrow….but it’s supposed to rain/snow overnight and the snow during the day…maybe I’ll make a track around inside the house and walk in here…we’ll see…

Well…it appears that I’m back in another one of those loops where I wake up earlier every day for a week or so…started a little after 7, then a little after 6 yesterday, and 5:44 this morning…so tomorrow should be around 5…so I guess I need to try to stay in bed longer…and it’s raining again out there so another day of not being able to break in the new shoes or get any exercise and that sucks…had an okay day yesterday but only got the grocery run done and all I have to do today is run an errand at 10…I did watch the latest “Ghostbusters” movie last night and it was fun…a nice pleasant show that had me laughing at points…and I think I’ll look for another one for tonight since I really don’t have any new shows to watch….I haven’t had any pain in my teeth for a couple of days now and that is a relief…and I haven’t had to use my heating pad on my back, either, but it feels a little stiff this morning and I’ll have to see how it progresses as I move around….not much to do today…just need to run out to the north end for a stop and then to save a lot to get a big box of ribs and I’m not sure what I’ll cook today…I did thaw some pork loin pieces and a container of soup so I may do some grilling today if I have enough gas in the grill…then I need to find the cheapest new tank since the one on the grill is too old to be refilled….more later…
