Well…I am not sure what is going on but even after taking a nap this afternoon, I am still damn exhausted and I’m not sure at all why…oh, well…I really was going to do one on politics this afternoon but I am not motivated to do it…I think I’m in overload after the Mueller report and the 24/7 reporting on that….one little bit of detail that has come out is that Mueller ended his report after Barr was appointed since he knew that Barr was there to protect trump and he knew that no other prosecutions would be approved…and that was another reason why Mueller didn’t indict trump for obstruction of justice…with Barr now supervising, there would be no independence for the independent counsel, just Barr breaking his oath to protect the constitution and doing nothing but protecting trump. I am looking forward to Mueller coming in front of congress next month where he’ll get the chance to expose Barr’s interference in his work and make it clear once and for all that trump is a criminal who needs to go…impeach…oh, hey, I guess I did have a political one in me…yay…

April 20th
Well…slept all the way in til 6:03 this morning…after getting up at 4:53 for the first time that is…had a short weird dream about someone dumping out my used coffee because they thought that only fresh coffee is worthy of drinking…not sure where the heck that came from but I really don’t know where any dreams come from so I guess it’s not unusual….feel really sore this morning from riding into a 20 mph wind yesterday and I wonder if I’ll ever get a nice day where it’s not windy and warm enough to get out in a t-shirt again…probably shouldn’t bitch too much since I didn’t even get out on the trail until around this time last year and I’m pushing 900 miles already…and, it’s going to be 70 tomorrow and Monday so, if I wait long enough, it could be a t-shirt day for at last one of them…didn’t get a lot done yesterday but will plan on getting the living room cleaned along with the kitchen today…but, right now I need coffee and to watch some soccer for a while…more later…

Well…you know, I think I’m losing my ability to be surprised at how little the rule of law means to the repubs these days…the supposed “law and order” party has been exposed as the lawbreaker party and there is more of it every damn day. One jaw dropper that the Mueller report exposed is that Richard Burr, the repub chair of the senate intelligence committee ran to the White House to give trump and his lawyers information that was in a private FBI briefing on the Russia probe about who was a target of the probe. Now, let that sink in a minute…a senior repub senator is briefed on confidential FBI investigation and then gives the targets a heads up so they can figure out how to obstruct the investigation…now, let’s try a little exercise here to really drive home how serious this is…all you have to do is replace trump’s lawyers and trump with mobster John Gotti’s lawyers and John Gotti and then see if it’s all perfectly fine that Burr tipped off the subject of an investigation. Doesn’t seem right, does it? Of course it isn’t….if this was anyone else but a powerful senator, they would be sitting in jail right now for obstruction of an FBI investigation….what happens now? Do the rest of the repubs in the senate censure him? Okay…I’m laughing at that one, too…of course they won’t…they’ll probably just pat him on the back and say “good job” for protecting their criminal in the WH…when the hell does this crap end? Impeach…
April 19th
Well…running late this morning and that is a little strange after getting up at 3:14 for the first time…but, after an hour of flipping and flopping in the bed, I did get back to sleep until the coffee maker started and the smell woke me up…after that, I should feel exhausted but I feel okay with some energy this morning and it must be that I finally had enough to eat yesterday…so, I think I’ll try that again today…still working through that 16 pound turkey I made earlier in the week and then it’s on to the freezer to use some of the stuff that is packed in there…and I have been thinking of making fettucine alfredo for a couple of weeks now and need to have something different…I do have a couple of errands to run today with the Mega getting up to 200 mil and I am thinking about getting some cheap chicken from daily deals but probably shouldn’t since I have chicken, pork chops, and other stuff in the freezer that needs to be used first…I did get a bike ride in yesterday but got frickin soaked doing it…it wasn’t raining until I got out about a mile and then it started raining for the rest of the 15 miles…and the weird thing was that, once I got used to it, it was actually quite pleasant and the trails were empty…I was so wet when I got back here that my shoes were squishy and they are still not dry this morning so I hope I can go out in the dry today…not much to do today…just a little cleaning and then some vegging and the bike ride this aft…looks like a lazy day and that’s okay…more later…
Got the application in…
Well…as I’ve been talking about for a couple of days now, I had been working on getting my application put together to get my first passport….so, this morning, I gathered up everything I needed and headed over to the Kentwood city offices to get it certified and sent…it was really easy and only took about 15 minutes and most of that was them trying to get my photo to print on their certified printer….but, got that all done and in 4-6 weeks, I’ll be getting my first passport…it cost me 150 bucks but I put that aside by thinking about a favorite writer who said that everyone, once in their lives should have a passport…and I agree with that…not sure how much I’m going to use it but it is nice to know that I can travel outside the country now with no problem…and the picture was even okay so I guess it was a good start to the day….
A couple of things we now know…
Well…with the redacted Barr report being released this morning, we know a couple of things…that the Mueller report does not “exonerate” the idiot trump at all…not on collusion with the Russians or with the issue of obstruction of justice as Barr would have the country think by his lie filled press conference before the report was released. We do know that Barr is now complicit in the coverup of trump’s criminality and should be removed from his post or resign before he does more damage to the Justice Department…does he not know that people are going to read the report and see how he was lying his ass of this morning? We also know that Mueller followed the rules that a sitting president can’t be indicted and that is why there were no indictments of trump…not that there was not enough evidence to charge him but that he was only following the rules…one little tidbit that was exposed from the report is that the evidence of trump’s criminality is being preserved for further action after idiot boy is out of office…and that there are still 12 or more investigations related to the report that are still ongoing that may lead to charges being filed. Let’s be clear on one point here, that the Russians DID work to elect trump…and no matter how much the repub bleaters still try to say that it’s just “sour grapes” that the dems have focused on that point…not that we care about our country but just sour grapes. I do have more to talk about, but I need to digest some of this new info to make a lucid comment…but, cripes…trump is a criminal…that much is clear….impeach…
April 18th
Well…damn…running really late this morning with not getting up until almost 7…yeah, that is so damn weird that I don’t know what to say about it…it was even starting to get light when I got up and that made this place look so strange….and that whole thing made me late after doing the grocery run…that I’m not really sure why I did since I didn’t need to get anything…I guess it’s habit more than anything else…feel just run down today and I’m glad that I just have the passport thing to do this morning…and the bike ride if I can get that in before the rains start…it’s already over 50 and I may be able to get out in a t-shirt if I get out at all…didn’t get much done yesterday and I may not get too much done today, either….just not feeling it right now and I hope the coffee will change that…don’t have a lot of hope that it will but what else do you have but hope? More later….
Got my passport stuff ready….
Well…have been talking about getting a passport for the first time in my life for some time now so I decided to just do it and get the forms filled out today…holy crap…it costs 145 bucks but I guess if you break it down to the 10 years it’s good for, that’s only 15 bucks a year and I guess that’s not too bad. So, I need to head over to the Kentwood city offices tomorrow to file the paperwork and get a photo taken to submit with it and in 6-8 weeks, I get my passport….pretty cool since my daughter wants to visit friends in Belize late in the summer and she wants me to go with her…I think I may just try to find a rental there and try the tropics for a year instead of buying a house here…just found a 1,700 sq ft 3 bedroom house on an acre for rent for 500 bucks a month…the only problem is that it is 10 miles from the beach in the jungle and I’d have to buy a vehicle down there to get around…
Loneliness…
Well…okay, that title is a little misleading in the fact that it appears to imply that I’m lonely…but that’s not really the case…it’s just that I read a new study that got me thinking about loneliness and what the effects are for people who suffer from it. I can never really remember a time when I’ve been lonely at any time during my life…I really have always liked being alone and spent a lot of time alone as a kid by my choice…after all I had 8 brothers and sisters and could have had someone to hang out with all the time if I wanted it…but I reveled in my time alone with my thoughts as I still do as an old guy. But, in reading this new study and many others that have been published in the past year, it appears that loneliness has been identified as a real, physical problem that needs to be dealt with since almost 40% of the people surveyed feel lonely on a regular basis…I wonder how that feels? Now, you may think that I lack empathy if I can’t understand loneliness or don’t feel it…maybe I should be lonely spending 90% of my time alone? One thing the study said was that intelligent people are much less likely to be lonely and I have considered myself intelligent and my academic achievements support that I am…but, there has to be more to it than that…not sure what that would be, though….maybe I should just consider myself fortunate that I don’t get lonely and just leave it at that? Probably…..

Well…since it has now become clear that William Barr sees his job as protecting the idiot president versus upholding the law, there have been some interesting developments in a case that was brought before a judge by a news organization using FOIA to get the entire Mueller report…now, this judge didn’t rule that he will order the report to be released, but he did say that he is going to look at the entire report to see if the redactions done by Barr and his team of lawbreakers are really necessary…and he has also said that he finds the fact that Barr is muddying the waters around the report “troubling” and has telegraphed the he doesn’t think Barr is following the law or legal precedent in the case. So, on this front, Barr is losing the fight to keep the damaging parts of the report secret, just as he did when he tried this crap before while he argued that kidnapping foreign nationals was supported by a “secret” report that he “summarized”…sound familiar? Just this morning, Jerry Nadler, the chair of the Judiciary committee in the House, has signaled that he has had enough of Barr’s crap and is preparing a subpoena for the entire Mueller report and all of the supporting materials that will be delivered to Barr Friday which means it should end up in court by the early part of next week when Barr refuses to follow the law and honor it. I wonder if Barr is so dumb that he doesn’t see that he has fallen into the trump mire and is opening himself up to contempt of congress charges at least, and obstruction of justice charges if the congress wants to play hardball…which they should to protect the rule of law. So, the next few days are going to be interesting but I don’t think the bastardized Barr report is going to show anything when it is released tomorrow…we’ll see…impeach…
