Well…I think I like this staying in bed until 6 and easing into getting up….used to just jump out of bed first time I woke up…but I used to not be able to go back to sleep either but that has changed too…and I don’t feel too bad this morning, either but my allergies are off the charts so I may have to take something for it this morning…I did get a bunch of work done in the gardens yesterday and that will continue downstairs this morning…I hope it didn’t get cold enough last night to kill off my pepper plants and the rest of my tomatoes…I am still getting a few tomatoes off them and may get more with the warmer weather that is coming next week…but I’m okay if they have to come out…have gotten a lot of stuff off them and I think I’m getting tired of tomatoes…I did get out to get a ride in yesterday but only one…didn’t have enough time to work on the gardens and get out for a second one and that will be the same today…won’t be warm enough to go out in shorts until the afternoon and I do have work to do this morning anyway….I will get down to only 100 miles left today so I should get to 5K by the end of next week and then I can gradually slow down for the rest of the year and not feel so stressed about doing two rides a day….not much to do today…have another day of ease for this morning but I do need to work downstairs for a couple of hours and that job is going to go on for a few days….more later…

Dropped my ballot off….
Well…I’m finding it pretty darn hard to just sit here and do nothing while I wait for the temp to come up enough to get out on the bike in shorts…so, I decided to take a quick trip over to the Leonard street library to drop my ballot off and complete my voting for the election in November. It was a little more work doing the research for the non-partisan part of the ballot than normal since the GR press doesn’t do a voter’s guide anymore and the Mlive site that is supposed to replace it won’t let you access it if you have an ad blocker on and I won’t look at the damn ads and pop ups they try to force you to see….but, I did find the information in other places so no big deal. I think it’s really cool that they have a way to circumvent the post office with all of the damage that trump’s cronies have done to it…and look, voting frickin counts…if we had a repub SOS, there wouldn’t be any drop boxes anywhere in the state or just a few….just like the governor of Texas who decreed that there is only going to be one drop box for every county, a voter suppression method that shows clearly that the repubs will do anything to make sure people can’t vote…and that is because when we vote, we win…so, vote…
I was going to say “Karma is a bitch”…
Well…with the news that the idiot trump and his wife tested positive for covid yesterday, the first thing that came to my mind was the phrase “Karma is a bitch” but then remembered that even how horrible they are as people, and how responsible he is for the deaths of 220,000 Americans,I wouldn’t wish this disease on anyone…it would be like cheering if idiot boy announced he had cancer…and even though I hate this asshole with the fire of a thousand suns, doing that would undo the years and years of me trying to be a better person once I realized in my 30′s that I could be an asshole at times….so, I won’t get on that train today…I just won’t say anything more about it other than maybe to talk about the political ramifications later today….
October 2nd
Well…I wonder if running late is going to be the new normal here…or will that make it not late? Too much to think about first thing before event the first cup of coffee….slept okay last night but had dreams about dropping my phone and breaking it all night and that is weird…I wonder if it’s because this phone has worked for so many years? Yeah, not going to delve into my mind right now…it’s scary in there sometimes and that’s too much work for any morning…I did get out and get a ride in yesterday but got soaked coming back…was cold most of the day from it and even the full winter indoor clothes didn’t help much…and it’s only 37 out there right now so I won’t be getting out today until after noon when it warms up some….I’m down to only 135 miles left to go so I guess I can do a couple of one ride days and still make my goal….I think this cold is going to end the gardens so I need to get out and pick the last of the pink tomatoes today since it is going to be colder tomorrow….still hoping to have my green peppers finish since I have half a dozen that are growing out there…would be nice to add them to the freezer along with the jalapenos…I did get my ballot filled out yesterday and I am going to drop it over at the library today…they pick them up from the drop boxes 3 times a day so I think that will be safe….not much to do today…it’s weird to have an entire morning to myself so I think I’ll continue the cleaning I started downstairs yesterday and get started getting rid of stuff I don’t need….and look for houses all day since that is my new full time job….more later….

Well….thought I’d talk about some local politics today instead of the idiot trump and his bullshit…so, there is a contest going on here in West Michigan for the house seat the Justin Amash vacated when he decided to not run for re-election…and the contest is between the dem, Hillary Scholten and Pete Meijer..the trust fund baby who, of course, is part of the Meijer family that everyone here in Michigan knows. Look, the last person we need to represent us is another rich guy trying to buy his way into congress…just like the DeVos and Van Andel families, the Meijer family has outsized influence in our community that is for the most part helpful, but I think they should just stay the hell out of politics…especially Pete since he has a reported trust fund that is over 60 million dollars and has never had to work a day in his life…and you just need to look at who has endorsed him to see what he would be like in congress…Michigan right to life, the NRA, and he is a second amendment nut, and a full throated supporter of trump and his cronies…so just another entitled asshole who will do more damage to this country and West Michigan by supporting more tax cuts for the rich, like him, and believes in more guns everywhere along with government control of women’s bodies…haven’t we had enough of this repub bullshit? Vote for Hillary Scholten and we’ll get someone who cares about the people she represents while we are just a means to an end for Pete…rich people don’t give a damn about regular people…the repubs show that every day…vote…
October 1st
Well…as you can see, I’m running pretty late this morning and it is all because I refused to get out of bed until 6:30 even though I woke up before 5…and it is a little cold in here…the furnace came on overnight and I am sitting here in my winter indoor clothes just to tolerate it and I am sure not ready for it to get cold….I’m even going to wait to go out on the bike until 10 or so when it will be 50 degrees since I just don’t want to pull out the thermasuit yet…want a few more ride in shorts before I give in but that will mean probably only one ride for a few days…so, I have to start cutting out calories again and need to figure out how to stop eating one ride’s worth or about 600 calories a day…looks like no more bagels after this week and I am going to miss them…oh, well….I did get both my fridges cleaned yesterday and they sure needed it especially downstairs since I hadn’t cleaned that one since I moved in here…now that I think of it, I didn’t even clean it before I moved in…so it really needed to be torn down and scrubbed….not sure what I need to do today…haven’t really thought about it but I do know I’m getting my ballot in since I did the research I needed over the past few days…but right now I am going to have more coffee and read the news first….more later….
