Well…up at 4:54 this morning and it is one of those mornings that I knew there was no point of staying in bed so I’ve been up for 47 minutes already and it’s still before 6…slept okay last night even with being on the wagon until after the surgery so I’ll take it…lot’s of tossing and turning and soreness from swimming yesterday but I don’t think I’ll need to take anything for it, though….I did figure out the problems with using zoom on my tablet and used it to talk to my daughter for quite a while yesterday and takes a lot of stress off with the two hour meeting next Tuesday morning…I do need to continue cleaning today so the house will be ready when my daughter gets here on the 22nd…she is staying for two weeks to make sure I’m okay after getting catheter out on the first of August….we did get some rain last night but nowhere near enough and no more until next Wed…it is already almost 70 out there this morning so it will be a t-shirt and shorts ride…I do have to do some work on the bike before I go since the rear shifter adjustment is moving and that means the cable is not tight enough….not much to do today…just going to get on the bike when it gets light and then I’ll probably clean the dining room and get ready to eat meals at the dining room table while my daughter is here….more later….

Citizens strike again…
Well…it looks like people in red states are starting to get the idea that even though the repubs have gerrymandered the states so that they are in control even when getting less votes than dems, the people in some of them are striking back with citizen initiatives that puts popular laws in place that the repubs are blocking…as we did here in Michigan when we voted to put women’s rights into our constitution, the voters of Ohio just turned in double the number of signatures needed to get restoring women’s right on the ballot…at present, it only takes 50.1% of the vote to make these initiatives the law in Ohio, but of course the repubs want to take the people’s say away by changing the passing percentage to 60, making it much tougher for citizens to have their say…so, another citizen initiative is on the ballot for August 8 that would restore the people’s rights…but since this is a single issue election, the turnout will probably be too small to pass it….and that will doom the women’s rights initiative that will be voted on in November…typical repub bullshit…they can’t win with unpopular ideas so take away the rights of citizens to challenge them…man I hat repubs…geez…
Having a hell of a time…
Well…I have been having a hell of a time coming up with political topics that I’m interested in and it keeps getting worse…and I really don’t know what to do about it…have been reading and reading and I wonder if it’s the prospect of all of the damn appointments I have starting Monday? Have one Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and I won’t have cocktails to look forward to since I am going dry until after the surgery to give my body it’s best chance of healing…my daughter has invited me to a zoom meeting to do a check on my tablet to make sure it works for the two hour meeting I have next Tuesday morning…and we’re going to do that at 4 this afternoon…I think I may have fixed it but we’ll see…oh, I have a political one…be right back with that one…
July 5th
Well…there are so many assholes out here with their fireworks that I had to close up the house to keep the smell from them out of here….I am going to start writing letters to my reps and the governor to try to get this repub backed law repealed…there is no reason for people like me to have to endure this bullshit every year…have a bunch of prescriptions to pick up this morning…I think there are 5 of them and I have other stuff to get from the pharmacy so I can’t get there before 9…that means the first ride is going to happen before that in about 15 minutes….last night was my last cocktail night until after the surgery and that will help me survive the anesthesia without damage…next week I have three appointments with one of them a zoom thing again and I think I’ve figured out the sound problems with my tablet…we’ll see…got a lot done with finishing up the windows yesterday and mowing the lawn but today is going to be just the rides and a trip out to the beach to swim…man, I’m worn out today and I know I didn’t eat enough yesterday and I don’t have to cook today with more leftovers in the fridge…..have 7 minutes to get on the bike so I need to get going….more later…
Kitties are doing well…
WeIl…talked a little bit this morning about the kittens that were living under my front steps and the nice woman who trapped them and who is now taking care of them…they have their shots, de-worming medication ( they really had worms), and lots of food…it seems they were very malnourished but they were fluffy so you couldn’t tell….and the last report said that they are even allowing some petting so there is a good chance they can be tamed and placed in homes without a lot of work…the woman who did all this caught a raccoon in one of her traps and sent me a photo of it…I thought she might get a skunk here but I haven’t seen one this summer…I miss seeing the kittens but they are in a good place for them and that’s important…and this woman is a volunteer at one of the shelters here in Muskegon…pretty neat…
Can we just ignore the supreme court?
Well…with the corrupt supreme court making rulings on nothing but thin air for their right wing politics, my question is: can we just ignore the supreme court? What are they going to do…they have no enforcement arm or police…are they going to stamp their little feet and hold their breath until they get their way? The AG of Arizona already stood up and said that they have their own anti discrimination laws on the books and she will usethemt to prosecute anyone who pulls that discrimination bullshit and followed up that any case that is based on lies is not legitimate….and that’s what this case was…and it was decided illegally when the SC justices knew it was a fake case and they took it anyway…this decision needs to be vacated and there needs to be consequences for the lawyers who perjured themselves during the trials since they knew it was fake, too…geez…
July 4th
Well…man, I’m worn out today and I wonder if I should take a day off? Have been pretty stressed out about the failed zoom calls that I need to do before I can have the surgery in 3 weeks…and I got the instructions on the mychart page and it is going to be a huge pain in the ass…but it’s that or die so I guess I’ll work at it…don’t feel like doing anything right now but I have 5 more windows to clean today…I’ve been entertaining the radical idea of sitting on the couch and watching movies today…after the bike rides that is…I did get the two windows in here done yesterday and one of them was the bird feeder window that was the worst one to clean…it is nice to have them open and get more air in here….the animal rescue people trapped the other two kittens last night and are taking care of them…cleaning and de-worming them and socializing them for adoption…very nice people…and that is 4 less ferals out here….they were malnourished and have been eating almost constantly since they got them….don’t have to cook today since I have leftovers to use up…not much to do today…just going to have more coffee and get out on the bike here in 20 minutes or so….no wind this morning so it will be a good ride…more later….
They’re at it again….
Well…we all know that every damn repub is a huge hypocrite and they are all at it again…with the announcement of some of the money from the infrastructure bill that the dems passed and Biden signed is going to go to extend broadband internet access to all of the country, here come the repubs taking credit for it back in their states…like the senator from Alabama, tommy tuberville who came out with a statement saying that it is a great thing and really needed for Alabama…and he said it with a straight face even though he knew he voted against the bill…then we have the idiot boebert railing about not getting a new bridge for her state when other places are getting bridges and roads…again, she voted against the infrastructure bill and spouts off against it damn near every day so I think it’s justice that her pet bridge is not funded…for all of these morons, their job is to scream and yell but they never even think of legislating for their constituents…maybe think next time morons…geez
July 3rd
Well…I really hate zoom calls….and I have one at 11 today and it won’t work and it’s going to be so frustrating…slept okay last night but feel worn out today….I know I didn’t eat enough yesterday with a slice of pizza and a chicken sandwich but I didn’t do much but ride the bike so I guess that evens out…I do need to keep losing weight so I’ll keep up not eating….it’s almost 7:30 and I need to get out on the bike soon to get two rides in by 10:30…one of these days I’m going to take a day off…I guess that will wait til after the surgery when I’ll have two months off….I do need to keep cleaning this place up so it will be presentable when my daughter gets here……I wonder if I should go to the beach this week since I won’t be able to swim after the surgery…damn, my life is really going to suck after the 25th…oh,well…I’m still thinking that they are going to find that my cancer is much worse and it’s going to kill me…I think I’ll work on updating my will when my daughter is here…it would suck to die at only 70 but I can accept it…not much to do today…just need to get on the bike right now and get going….more later…
It starts tomorrow…
Well…the whole process of my July of healthcare gets started tomorrow morning with a video conference about the surgery and what to expect after…then I have the periodontist on the 10th and then on the 20th…another seminar on the 12th then the surgery on the 25th, getting the catheter out on the 1st of August and then the recovery starts…my daughter sent me a ton of incontinence supplies since that is one side effect of the surgery that should go away after a month or so…then into rehab since they are cutting into the muscles of my abdomen and putting a two inch incision in it…and three other holes for the robotic tools to go in….man, I’m going to be happy when this month is over…and I really do need to clean this place up so it will be presentable when my daughter gets here on the 23rd…so I need to get organized soon but I think I’m taking the day off…but I may do a couple more windows…who knows?
