Well…it’s been such a good morning this morning and it has me smiling…started out with getting three rides in and then getting ready to head out to Meijers and DD…when I got my heavy woolen coat out to wear, I found the key ring and keys I have been looking for at least two years…on a space needle key ring that I bought at the space needle when I was out there for my daughter’s wedding…I thought it was lost and gone and now all three sets of keys are on key rings associated with her…she gave me a Mazda key ring, and I bought a Statue of Liberty one when I we took the tour of the statue and the rest of NY city….then out to DD to get some boneless/skinless chicken for 2 bucks a pound and 5 pounds of seasoned pulled pork for 8 bucks…glad I have enough room in the freezer now…then to Meijers for a few things and the prescriptions and laughed out loud again when the clerk told me the cost…1.20 for 90 days of two BP meds…one of them was free and the other was 1.20…so very cool…so now I don’t have to go out again for a couple of weeks…okay, need to have some lunch…more later…

Well…it’s 6:45 and I’m already running late to get the things done I need to today…want to get three rides in and run an errand to pick up the new prescriptions and hit DD to pick up 5 pounds of pulled pork for 8 bucks…made enough room in the freezer over the past two weeks and it will come in handy to have some easy food…slept okay last night but I still feel pretty worn out as I always do until the coffee gets to work and I may even make some good coffee later…the weather is going to be pretty extreme over the next week with lots of snow and the high temp on Monday is going to be 6 degrees so I want to get everything done today so I can hunker down and wait it out…it’s supposed to be almost 40 tomorrow and then crash Friday…oh, well…didn’t get a darn thing done yesterday but I am going to clean the bathroom today…I made some whole wheat bread yesterday but it fell like a bad souffle and it is the strangest looking loaf I’ve ever seen….it tastes okay so I’ll have some of it with the Masala today….not much to do today…just need to get off my butt and get moving right now so I can get three rides in before I head out for the errands….more later…

Well…it’s almost 2:30 pm and I am finally done for the day and it’s been a busy one…got the three rides in, made Masala, worked on the car, and then shoveled the snow…and I was freezing after I finished and I couldn’t figure out why…and then I looked at the weather channel to find that it’s only 15 degrees out here and we are now under a winter weather advisory that lasts until 1am wed morning with the possibility of 5 more inches of snow…but it looks like the lake effect has set up just offshore so the snow is pretty light here but could change in an instant if it just moves inland…I did get the results of the blood work I had done yesterday and I normally get that from the mychart page but today they called me and that freaked me out a bit…but no problems with my kidneys or electrolyte levels and they still can’t believe that I have no health problems other than the high BP…I do have to get out tomorrow to pick up the new prescription but that won’t be til after I get three rides in…okay, time to make some bread…

Well…I feel so damn small this morning…got an e-mail from the city commissioner that I whined to about the snow removal problems and she told me that she just lost her son and that’s why she didn’t get back to me sooner…I guess that puts my tiny little problem in perspective….and I really don’t know why I reacted so strongly to the snow…after all, I’m really good at driving in it after doing it for the past 56 years…and doing it on bald tires when I was younger….I will e-mail her back this morning with my condolences…okay, I just did that…but I don’t feel better…I know the world continues to spin but the loss of a child is terrible…it changed my brother when he lost AJ and he was never the same…okay, life goes on…damn, I slept okay last night with not getting up til after 5:30 and then out of bed a little after 6 and I need to get moving…why, I don’t know but I want to get on the bike by 7 and that is 14 minutes away…more coffee first…today is going to be an easy day with only having to make some Masala for lunch…BP was down to 127/72 this morning and the pharmacist gave me the same advice the NP gave me…stop taking your blood pressure so much…and I am going to take that advice…not much to do today…just the rides and cooking and a little introspection….and maybe some cleaning…and I am going to let myself understand how lucky I’ve been in my life…more later…

Well…I made it out and back to the doctor with no drama at all…just had the car sideways going back into the alley to keep the momentum up and open the garage door at the same time…now I’m in til Wed when I have to go out to pick up the prescriptions that weren’t ready when I went to Meijers after the appt…no big deal with my BP but they do want to try to get it down farther so they added another medicine that will level it out over a full 24 hours…the pharmacist looked at my results and told me it looks okay so no worries…when I pulled in to  Meijers, a guy pulled in next to me trailed by 8 cop cars including a couple of state boys and they arrested him right there…weird…so now I need to get the second and third rides in and then the weight work and I’ll be done about 3pm or so…but I did have to have blood drawn so they could check my kidneys  but I could tell them they are working great….more later…

Well…I was able to get back to sleep for another almost 3 hours so that got me to 5 1/2 hours and that is just a little under normal for me…but not getting up til 5:52 sets me up for only one ride before I get ready to try to get out for Meijers and the doctor appointment…I wonder if I should have coffee before I go? That would probably give a realistic picture of where my BP is acting normally and the meds aren’t really working anymore anyway…I do need to get on the bike by 6:30 for that one ride so I just may pour a cup to get me jumpstarted…the ride will raise my BP, too, but I’m not going to skip that…going to let the car warm up so it’s off the cold weather start to give me more control of it when I blast out…it’s 24 degrees right now so at least the snow won’t be slushy…and I don’t have to go out again until the 24th for a dental appointment…shoveling the alley was so easy, that will be a job that I’ll do the rest of the winter…and stop thinking about it…not much to do today…just need to get rolling here in 20 minutes and then let the day go as it will…going to make pasta and dig a spicy breaded chicken patty out of the freezer for the second meal…will cook tomorrow…more later…

Well…with the stress of needing to get out of here for the appointment this morning and from being good last night, it appears that I’m going to have to live with sleeping about 3 hours tonight…it’s 2 am and I feel like I won’t be able to get back to sleep but I guess I’ll try in an hour or so of watching old movies and doing one of these…pretty darn sore from all the shoveling yesterday but I won’t take anything for it since they are working on my BP today…so it looks like I’m going to be on the bike by 5:30 and be able to get two rides in before I head out to Meijers before the appointment…the birds have cleaned me out so I need to get 20 more pounds of seed along with some other stuff and then I can hit aldis after since I can see it from my doctor’s office…and I need more celery and carrots to make ham soup later in the week…and I’ll have to be able to get out of here later in the week to pick up the new BP prescription…so, I need to put the snow shovel in the car this morning just in case…and maybe to depot to get more melting salt….more later…

Well…okay, I’ve been whining about having to shovel 40 yards of the alley behind my house to be able to get out for a doctor appointment tomorrow morning…probably shouldn’t have since doing the 40 yards and then all of my walks only took an hour or so and it was no strain at all…still going to put the snow shovel and the bag of oil dry in the car when I go out…doing all the snow has me walking a lot and it’s breaking in my new boots really well…very comfy now and they keep my feet toasty even being out there more than an hour…and they have such good traction that I don’t slip at all…pretty cool and I wonder why I didn’t buy a pair years ago…the new gloves kept my hands pretty warm, too, at least as long as it takes to shovel and it’s nice to not have my fingers turn white…so, all in all, I think I’ll just shovel the alley when it snows and let my stress levels go down….still no plowing going on up here so I have to dust off my snow driving skills in the morning….momentum!
