Well…just finished up doing the front brakes on the car and I am worn out from the heat….was going to wait until tomorrow morning to do them but to have a box full of new parts just sitting here was too much for me to bear…after I tore the passenger’s side apart, I couldn’t get the rotor off since I didn’t have a bolt to put through the hole and push it off…so, I had to put it back together and go out and get one and then I remembered I didn’t have a hammer so I went over to Harbor Freight and got a 2 1/2 pounder for 6 bucks…haven’t owned a hammer in over 15 years so I thought it was about time…after I got back here and started, it only took me 45 minutes to do both sides including a shower afterwards…it was a good thing I did, too….both rotors were so rusted they could have come apart at any time and the friction material on one pad on the drivers side had come off the backing plate and was just floating around in there…and it was about as thick as a piece of paper. When I took it out to test, I couldn’t believe how good they are now…I even locked up the fronts and I could never do that before…I can’t wait to see how they are after I get them bedded in on the drive out to pool tomorrow…the carbon/ceramic that the pads are made of are supposed to be the best material you can get and have 20% more stopping power than the normal metallic ones…let’s hope they do…
