August 13th

Well…I am kind of glad that the Olympics ended yesterday…I was getting really tired of watching them but felt somewhat obligated since they are only every 4 years…so, it was a wasted day yesterday and I didn’t do much…today looks to be mostly the same but I do have some errands to run…can’t get motivated right now, though, so I think I’ll try to get in the shower and get out to read the papers and have some coffee…more later…

Mitt’s just a hypocrite…

Well…this is going to be a short one about an article that I read this morning that makes ole Mitt not just a liar but a hypocrite as well…I’m sure you’ve heard of the controversy over ole Mitt not releasing his tax returns…or only one year…but today, we find out that in vetting his vp picks, he asked for multiple years of theirs…so, the American people don’t need to see ole Mitt’s returns but he needs to see the vp picks? What a hypocrite….but I still want to thank him for picking Paul Ryan and making this election a choice for the future….the gift that just keeps on giving…

August 12th

Well…running really late today since I decided to get out on the bike first…and it was a good idea…I’m feeling so much better after sweating out the toxins…it was another bore of a day yesterday with nothing but races and Olympics and I am getting really tired of it…but, what can you do? I did see a kite eating tree up in the park today that made me laugh but there was little else on the trail of note so I won’t note it….and, on that note, I am going to read the online papers and have my last cup of coffee…more later…

Romney’s gift to the Dems…

Well…just got back from ordering a part for the car and got the news that ole Mitt has picked Paul Ryan to be his VP candidate and I just can’t stop smiling…of any of the possible picks, this is the very, very best one for the dems…to pick the most radical, teapartier to be his running mate, it just makes it so much easier for the dems to pick up the independents who may have been listening to the fiscal nonsense that has been coming out of the campaign. In case you don’t remember, this is the guy that is the supposed “serious” one on the right who proposes just more of the same…tax cuts for the rich and program cuts for everyone else…Medicare will be gone, social security will be gone, healthcare will be gone if these idiots get elected and the polls say that over 70% of the people want none of that nonsense…so, thanks, Mitt….your gift will be appreciated…geez…

August 11th

Well…running normal today but I lost my sunglasses and I am really bummed about that…not sure how that could have happened since I never take them out of the car…oh, well….I’ll have to look better to see if they are there…it was a total veg day yesterday with the rain and I didn’t even ride the bike…okay…the coffee is done so I need to go have a cup and read the papers…

Some good news delivered by Fox?

Well….this is going to be a short one about a couple of new polls that came out today showing that Obama is growing his lead as people get to know ole Mitt. One of the most surprising ones was one that came out of Fox News…yep, that Fox…the propaganda arm of the repubs who no one should ever trust…but, their poll shows that Obama is leading Mitt by 49% to 40%, the largest margin in any of the large polls. This makes me wonder “are they manipulating the poll to show Mitt farther behind so their base will be more energized?” It wouldn’t be the first time something like this has happened at Fox and probably won’t be the last….but, not being a person that is normally into the conspiracy theories, I compare this one to the others that came out that have Obama up by 7-8 points and think that maybe it may be close to accurate. The trend that I like to see is that the lead is growing as people get to know Mitt and his gaffe fest…along with the crazy assed ideas on the economy…maybe people are starting to pay attention? Hope so…

August 10th

Well…it was a long day yesterday and with going out to shoot pool and then cocktails here, I feel like crap today…so bad that I am going to skip going out for the papers today and just stay here and lick the wounds while I drink a lot of water and hit the couch….so, on that note, I am going to stop here and come back later for more…

Okay, I’m back and feeling a little better so I thought I’d add a little to this one…it has been raining all day and it looks like it is going to continue into tomorrow so I gave myself the day off from riding the bike but that has made the recovery go slower than I had hoped…I did lose at pool yesterday and that was okay…I can’t remember a run of winning that was this long but I think I used up my Keno luck on all of those wins…so, maybe I should go out and buy a ticket….I am going to try to get a political one out later in the day but, with not going out to read the papers, I don’t have as much to choose from…I have read the normal papers on my phone but it just isn’t the same…more later..

Just figured it out…

Well…as I was thinking about the manufactured welfare flap that the repubs are using to falsely attack Obama…I had an epiphany on ole Mitt…It came to me that Mitt doesn’t stand for anything…just winning the election. This whole thing is just a fake argument that Obama wants to end welfare to work system that was implemented under Clinton…he wants nothing of the sort…what has been requested of the feds is that waivers be issued exempting them from federal law on the matter so the governors can more tailor the programs to the facts on the ground in the various states…and this includes two repub governors…I guess these governors have gone from great supporters of states rights to socialists overnight…but you’ll never hear that from the Romney camp…it would interfere with the meme that Obama is a socialist and just wants to hand out checks to people who don’t want to work. The funniest thing in this whole idiotic attack by the repubs is that, while ole Mitt was governor, he asked for the same waiver that he now thinks is the last straw to the damning road of socialism….this man has no beliefs or core….and would have been laughed out of politics when I was younger…just shows you how far the repubs have fallen…geez…

August 9th

Well….it was another day yesterday and that makes it 4 days in a row of being good which is not such an accomplishment when you think about it…but, it does make me feel better so that is something…even slept okay last night so I feel like I have some energy today….no dreams to speak of but that’s okay….I am starting to get tired of the Olympics..all of the events seem to run together and the reactions to winning all seem to be the same…crying, flags, and other nonsense…I guess I’m going into overload but there is the women’s gold medal game in soccer that I do have to watch…but I’ll have to go out to see it…not sure about hitting a bar in the middle of the afternoon but I guess I can suck it up….other than that, not much to do today…the grocery run, of course….but it looks like it may rain and I might have the day off from riding….hope not….more later…

Welfare for the rich, courtesy of the republicans…

Well…wanted to touch on a couple of things today starting with the rush to privatization of schools across the country, especially in higher education where this privatization leads to the presidents and people running the universities making millions while everyone else takes a pay cut and loses their benefits. In a recent study, it was found that the average pay of the ceos of these private schools is an average of 7 million dollars a year…yep, that is 7 million that is paid for by you and me since the majority of their funding comes from grants and subsidized student loans paid for by the federal government. This is one of the problems that I have with the repubs, as long as the well off can suck off the government and take advantage of loopholes in the laws they are all for it, but when anyone in the middle class gets any benefit from the government, they howl about “welfare” and these people are no better than bloodsuckers that are stealing money from the rich. But, the worst part of this whole story is the fact that private universities have the worst graduation rate of any class of universities and don’t really care if their students are successful, after all, the university has already gotten it’s money and if the student leaves, it’s all profit for them. Just another case of welfare for the rich where they have rigged the system to steal from the rest of America…aren’t you getting tired of that yet? Geez…

What you never want to be….
