Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t do much but hang out around here…I was feeling better but this morning I’m back where I was a few days back so I don’t understand it…oh, well…and today looks like more of the same other than I have to do 5 of these today to make sure I get to the numbers for the month…I do have some topics so that might not be as hard as it sounds…I do have to do some cleaning today, too, along with soccer, football, and the races so it will be a full day even with not much to do…have to get the bike ride in first, though, and I will be taking off in a few minutes to get that done….don’t have to cook today since I have leftovers and that will be good, too…don’t really have the desire to cook today….more later….
The crazy is really deep on the right these days…
Well…have been trying to get back into politics with election season coming up but it has been harder to do than I thought it would be…to get ready for it, I have been reading some of the statements and comments that come from right wing websites and it is breathtaking how deep the crazy runs on the right these days…first there is a senate candidate from one of the midwestern states…Kansas or Wyoming…somewhere who made the statement in a town hall the other day that she truly believes that the UN is going to implement something called Agenda 21 here in the US that would force everyone to move to cities and have their land taken away from them…one thing I should note is that this woman, I think here name is Ernst, has also stated that she owes her entire career to the Koch’s…and you know what that means…more pet coke piles around the US poisoning the air and water….where the hell do the repubs come up with these people? Is delusion now one of the check boxes that they have to have to run for office as a repub? It sure seems like it these days…okay, I’ll have to do the comment one later today since I really do want to continue to watch the Arsenal/Spurs match….more later…
September 27th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I won at pool so that was cool…slept okay but still feel a little crappy today…and my hands and feet seem to be getting worse so I may have to try to find 500 bucks to go to the doctor and see what is going on…I did get the chance to go out and hang with K for a few minutes and that was fun…the weather has been so nice over this week that the top has been down on the car almost all the time…even put it down over to Meijer’s and back this morning…not much to do today…sports, sports, and more sports starting with Everton now, Man U at ten and then into football and racing for the rest of the day….more later…
Snakes on the trail…again…
Well…it was an odd day on the trail today but I felt okay so that is one little plus…and, there were snakes on the trail again but there shouldn’t be…in one two mile section, there were about 20 little snakes about the size of just hatched ones sitting on the trail…had to swerve to miss them and I wanted to stop and pick some of them up but I’ve done that before so the attraction was much less…there was one other thing that happened that was just so cool I had to talk about it…on one of the downhills in a tunnel of trees, a hawk was flying right up the trail at me…when he got about 20 feet away, he did a 5 G pullup straight up and disappeared into the treetops…fun thing to watch….
September 26th
Well…running late again today and I think I may have to alter my routine to fix that problem…but is is a problem? After all, I really don’t have anything else to do so why try to fix it? Slept okay last night but had some dreams that were not the fun ones that I like…and I still feel kind of strange so I’m still not sure if I have a bug or not….I did get out to meet up with the youngster Miata guys last night for a while and that was fun with how nice a night it was….not much to do today…pool, of course, and I think I’m going to smoke some fish after I get back from the ride this morning…have had it marinating overnight and need to cook it today…more later…
September 25th
Well…running late again today and I really can’t figure out why…just did a grocery run but that shouldn’t have done it….hmmmm…and, I chipped my favorite coffee cup and I am really depressed about that…have had the thing for 20 years…it was a freebie from the National Starch rep when I was working and can’t be replaced…maybe I need to buy one…slept crappy and feel crappy this morning but I wasn’t good last night so that is one of the reasons…I am really tired of the guys working on the roof here and I hope they finish up today since I am getting annoyed with all of the pounding…not much to do today…I have stuff to do around here and I want to smoke some fish but that is about it…more later…
A quickie on the Tigers…
Well…with being three behind for the month, I thought I’d do a quickie on the Tigers game that is on right now…just saw one of the best innings I’ve seen in a while…in the 8th, the Tigers had men on first and second, then they were bunted across to second and third, then Romine came up and they did a “suicide squeeze” bunt that I haven’t seen in many years where the runner on third takes off with the pitch and the batter has to make contact with the ball and place it perfectly along the third base line…which is not easy when you are bunting…but the Tigers pulled it off and it was just cool…and they have scored 4 more since so it looks like a win that they sorely need to stay ahead of KC and get into the playoffs….
I promised some sports…
Well…it has been a few days but I promised I’d talk a little about sports…especially the teams that I follow that are just stinking up the place this year….have to start with Manchester United…what a debacle over the weekend…they were up on Leicester 3-1 in the second half and went on to lose the match 5-3…and this is with almost everyone healthy. I guess David Moyes was not that bad of a manager…even the crappy year last year was not as bad as they are playing now…if they keep this up, they could be relegated to the championship next year and that hasn’t happened in 50 years….okay, I do need to deal with Michigan football again…and I shouldn’t have to…ever since Hoke took over the team 4 years ago they have been mediocre at best and downright stinky at their worst…for the first time that I can remember, if there is a race on opposite them, I will watch the race…have even put the Michigan gear away for the year…they just don’t deserve me wearing it….okay, those are the the ones that are really disappointing me right now but I do need to do another one on the promise of a new Red Wings season and the small bit of life that the Lions have shown…and I’ll wedge the Tigers in there, too….more later
September 24th
Well…it was a long day yesterday but I got a bunch of stuff done so that is okay…and got the chance to hang out with G for a little while..it was nice to get out of here for a while…and it was needed since they are re roofing my place and it is so noisy that I can barely think…at least that’s the excuse I’m going to use…feel a little crappy today but I think it’s still the bug that I’ve had for almost two weeks now…just wish it would get worse or better and not just go along the same…not much to do today…going to take it easy after the bike ride although I do have some stuff to do around here….might just wait until tomorrow to do it…and I will be back here for another one or two today since there are topics I want to talk about…more later…
Fear, fear, and more fear…
Well…I have been marveling over all of the tough guy repubs who are shaking in fear with the worst threat to the US in the history of the world…in case you didn’t catch it, that was sarcasm…and I sit here and wonder what these guys are smoking or drinking, or are they just the biggest bunch of chickens that have ever lived in this country? The latest is the state hopper candidate from fear (R) Scott Brown who came out today and said that Islamic terrorism is the greatest threat the US has ever faced and that Obama is not doing enough about it…let me get this straight, ISIS is a greater threat than Nazi Germany? ISIS is a greater threat than the Japanese empire? ISIS is a greater threat than the Soviet Union in the cold war with it’s 40,000 nuclear warheads? It has gotten almost comical when another of these supposedly tougher than Democrats repubs just about craps his pants and screams the sky is falling whenever a new terror organization kills a few people….but, you know this is their playbook to win elections…fear, fear, and more fear…it’s all they have left…geez…
