September 3rd

Well…as you can see, I didn’t come back for another one yesterday and there really is no excuse but I was on a total veg day and didn’t really do anything but watch sports all day….so, it was okay but today I need to get moving and get the clothes ready for the trip to Seattle Wed…so, that means I will be at least 10 under for the month since I am not taking my computer with me and there will be no posts from wed until Monday…then, I’ll try to get caught up but I’m not going to promise anything…I am trying to match the food on hand here with my travel schedule so that might mean a fast food day on tues but I’m not sure I want to do that since it will be all fast food for 5 days and I’m not sure how I’ll react to that….I will be back later for more and try to do at least three a day today and tomorrow…more later…

September 2nd

Well…sitting here watching the F-1 race from my favorite track, Spa in Belgium, and thought I’d take a minute and get this one done…it was another sports day yesterday and I think I’m getting burned out on it…but today is the same with the race, Man U, drag racing, and then the cup race later…slept okay last night after falling asleep on the couch and even with the cocktails last night, I feel okay today…but, there won’t be any accomplishments with all of that stuff going on…so, I’m going to veg it out today…more later…

Some good news….

Well…I know I shortchanged you guys on the life column this morning and I may even go back and add to it…but, I’m sitting here listening to David Gilmour on TV and wanted to comment on some good news that has been coming for the past couple of days…it seems that the courts are starting to get it right on the voter suppression laws that the repubs are so fond of with three of them being struck down in the past week or so….along with the egregious redistricting in Texas where the repubs blatantly redrew lines to make sure that minorities would be shut out of governing…or being able to vote for people other than repubs…now, the appeals court needs to throw out the Pennsylvania law that was approved by a purchased repub judge to make it even better…and maybe then, we can get the Koch brothers out of the business of trying to buy laws through ALEC….what else? Oh, I find it the ultimate in hubris that ole Mitt is touring the hurricane flooded south and offering “whatever I can do to help”…is he so deluded that he thinks he’s president already? It is the people in the flooded area that will be hit hard if the idiot gets elected and FEMA gets eliminated…and let’s remember his running mate Ryan was the one who held up emergency assistance for tornado victims a few years back to score political points, saying that he would not approve it unless other things equal to the assistance was cut from the budget….remember folks, this is the party that doesn’t give a damn about anything but themselves…geez…

September 1st

Well…running as late as I ever have today but I have great excuses that I won’t get into right now…it was a huge sports day yesterday and I think I strained a finger flipping back and forth last night…and it looks like another one of those today…haven’t even gotten to the newspapers yet and it is 11:30…so I am going to go do that right now and come back later for more…

Last one for the month…

Well…another month has gone by and at least this time I didn’t have to cheat to get to the goal…I know I’ve been kind of fixated on the lies coming out of the repubs lately but they need to be highlighted…but, not in this one…just going to meander around a little and maybe do a summary of the month…I can’t remember a nicer summer and a better one to purchase a Miata…not sure what it is going to be like over the winter but I’ve wanted to get back into a rear wheel drive car…it is going to need new tires since I can spin the ones on the car even if it’s a little wet….maybe I’ll just hope for a winter like last year…almost ready to go out to Seattle next week but I’m still not sure if the back will hold up to 18 holes of golf…just hitting 60 balls yesterday has left me sore and stiff but the ibuprofen is cutting it…it has been a nice August but getting to the first of September depresses me as always when I have to pay my rent…not much has happened this month that I can remember except Neil Armstrong dying and the repubs lying…I was going to go back to the life post to add another part but I think I’ll do that here…there was a grasshopper alert yesterday on the trail with clouds of them flying up as I rode through them….pretty weird to have them smacking off my face and chest and even hitching a ride for a ways…okay…that’s enough for now…need to get a few things done before the State game tonight…

August 31st

Well…I just can’t understand why I’m always running late over the past few weeks…oh, well….I guess I’ll either live with it or do something to change it…not sure which….it was an okay day yesterday with getting a chance to hang out with T for a while…and I ran into K out at Kohl’s and that was kind of strange…it looks like a day off from the bike today since my legs were so dead yesterday that it was hard to get the whole ride in…I need to go run some errands so I’ll end here…I’ll be back later to add to this one…

We don’t need no stinkin’ facts…

Well…I know I’ve been on the case of the repubs for their breathtaking lies over the past couple of months but it has been earned by them….starting with the Romney campaign responding to the media’s calling them out on the lies by saying “we are not going to let fact checkers run our campaign”….basically saying that they are going to continue to lie since the only other thing they have is tax cuts for the rich and benefit cuts and tax increases for everyone else. Then, we have ole Ryan’s speech last night that was all lies and misrepresentations that have been pointed out by many, many media outlets…even Fox news has called him a liar and when fox criticizes any repub, hell is certainly freezing over. The most egregious of ole Paul’s lies center on two things…the first being the GM plant that closed in Ryan’s hometown with Ryan saying it was Obama’s fault…but, the uncomfortable fact is that the closing was announced in the spring of 2008….months before Obama was elected…what was he supposed to do? Invent a time machine and go back to save the plant? The second huge lie centers on the cuts to Medicare PROVIDERS that is included in the ACA…again, Ryan lied when he said it was BENEFIT cuts that would mean there would be 716 billion dollars less in care for seniors because of the ACA. the irony here is that the repub touted Ryan budget does exactly the same thing with exactly the same cuts. These guys have taken lying to a whole new level that I have never seen in a presidential campaign….if they lie about this, what else are they lying about? Geez…

August 30th

Well…it was just another day yesterday with a cocktail night so I do feel a little slow today…but I slept okay and may even have eaten enough so that might help today…I was just so tired yesterday it had to be undereating…or the allergies…not sure which. I don’t remember the dreams so they must have been unremarkable….today is going to be a little busy with putting the clubs in the car to go out and hit a bucket this morning to see if my back is going to hold up for the tournament out in Seattle…and then I need to meet up with T and G and D later so it is going to be busy….I may take the day off from working out and riding to try to make the pain go away…have been hurting all over….more later…

The liars convention…

Well…I think things may be changing in the coverage of the repubs lie machine that is their convention and that makes me smile just a little bit…it started this morning with the fact checker in the Post gutting the theme of “you didn’t build that” that the whole convention has been built around and the deliberate lies the repubs using to support it…then, we had ole Rick Santorum going on about the “gutting of the work requirement” for public support that is also a huge lie…and then moving into all of the other speeches that are still pushing the idea that tax cuts and deregulation will get the economy moving when it it exactly those policies that have gotten us to where we are. Then there are the racists that threw peanuts at an African-American camera operator and shouted “this is what we feed animals” all the while still asking for Obama’s birth certificate. But, finally, the media is starting to challenge these idiots and their war on women, their war on the truth, and their war on the American middle class….the desperation is starting to show because they know that if they don’t win this year they never will…the crazy right wing rhetoric and demographics will make the repub party just a footnote in political life here in the US and none too soon…geez…

August 29th

Well…it was a busy day yesterday with all of the errands I had to run..put almost 100 miles on the car running around but today looks quite a bit easier…slept okay but tossed and turned all night and I am still tired this morning…part of it is only eating 3 tacos for the day yesterday but I am going to try to do better today…I do need to make the grocery run today because I am tired of tacos and chicken…really, I’m tired of everything but I do need fuel so I will force myself to eat today…the car has been perfect since I fixed it and has been fun to cruise around in…might go down to K-zoo today but I’m still not sure I want to hang around with the old folks in the Miata club…I do need to put the clubs in the car and get out to the range since I’ll be playing golf in Seattle and I don’t want to look ridiculous…more later…

What you never want to be….
