Well….it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t accomplish much…slept okay last night and I am a little proud of the fact that I have made it through the week with no cocktails here…I did go out and have a couple with G last night and didn’t win at Keno…that seems to be the pattern these days…I am still feeling the allergies a bit and have had a twitch in my right eye for a couple of days and that is getting annoying…but I am still trying to get through the whole allergy season without taking anything just to see how bad the allergies really are…the headaches have been tolerable but the sneezing, coughing and pressure in my head are still there…not much to do today…pool, of course, and I am looking forward to the first Wings game with Ken and Mickey early tonight and then the first Tigers playoff game later in the evening…and I am going to enjoy them with a cocktail and the couch…have been looking forward to that all week…I was going to skip the bike ride and use rain for the excuse but the storms are falling apart so I guess I should get going…more later…

Well…it has been really nice to see the desperation on the part of the repubs who are still trying to undo the results of the last election and holding the country hostage by shutting down the government to end Obamacare. I guess what they knew was coming was that once people saw what was available on the exchanges and that they were a better deal than anything currently available, they would no longer be able to demagogue the program an substitute their lies for the truth. Hell, there are many repubs who are now seeing that they have been lied to when they save $1,000 a month on their premiums and see their co-pays cut in half. How are you going to spin that repubs? I am happy to finally see Obama say “no negotiations, do your job” to the idiots that are gleeful they have shut down government….what are the 2 million that have been put out of work going to say and vote in the next election? For the idiots who don’t give a damn about them and their families or the dems who are acting like adults here? This is the first time in history that the government has been shut down by a tantrum of a minority just because they don’t like a law…and we on the left need to stand firm and not reward these asses for being asses…anyone who has ever raised a child knows that you can’t give in to the tantrum or they just get worse….and these folks are just big children…we should treat them that way…geez…

Well…running late today with Brian stopping at my door this morning to share some photos of the deer from his back yard…and, I know, their are political things to write about but I just can’t seem to get motivated to do one about them…I’ll try today to make some sense and be a little lucid…it was and okay day yesterday but I had to go out to see the Wings first game…what a pain…they did though, so that was cool…slept okay with weird dreams about my bike being torn down by idiots and lots of wind…not sure what that is about but who cares? I do need to get going to get the workout in and ride before it starts to rain…so, I will come back for more later…up to 4 days now with no cocktails…is that an accomplishment? Maybe…
I finally did it!
Well…this one has been coming for the summer and I finally did it….got under an hour for 15 miles on the bike…I’ll be you thought I’d gotten a job…no such luck….this morning, with three cups of coffee, little wind, and cool temps…I got down to 58 mins and 22 secs for the 15 miles…and that even includes 32 seconds at the light at Eastern and 52nd street. I know I haven’t said much about this all summer and part of it is that I wasn’t sure if I could do it…my best until today was 1:04:42 and the legs just didn’t feel up to getting much better…maybe it was the two non-cocktail nights that helped? This goes along with almost getting to 16,000 miles on this bike…only have 18 more to go to reach 16K…I wonder if I can get 9K more and have the equivalent of riding the thing around the world? That would be pretty cool…..more later…
October 2nd
Well…it was an okay day yesterday for it being the first…and, I did get out to see K and V and have a couple which was fun…slept okay, too, so I feel okay today…and, it is the Wings opening night but I’ll have to go out to see it since it is on a channel I don’t get…it’s not the same without Ken and Mickey doing the play by play…at least I have the cash to go out for the first two perlods…it might be fun to get out for a while….not much to do today…the normal stuff, of course, but not much else….I do have a little work to do around here to be ready for later in the week but that is about it…I should get the wheels for the snowies painted but I’m not sure if I am that ambitious….more later…
Here’s the cost the crazy repubs are costing you…
Well…I’m not sure if any of you doubted that the crazy-assed repubs would shut down the government in their little tantrum since their extortion didn’t work….and I am really surprised that the dems have held together and said “enough” to the bullying from the right. But, one thing that the supposedly fiscally responsible repubs won’t say is that this little stunt of theirs is costing the American people…that is, you and me, over 300 million dollars a day out of our tax money. The repubs think it’s quite okay to spend money on this little tantrum of theirs while doing their best to take food out of the mouths of the poor and over 180,000 veterans whose food stamps will be cut off if they get their way. It can’t be allowed that only 20% of the country, the tea party idiots, to dictate what happens to the rest of us who are reasonable people who know that government needs to work to make the country better. If we just hold together, we can take back the house and then make the changes to the ACA that may be necessary…as it has always worked throughout the history of this country…we just can’t let the anarchists win….geez….
October 1st
Well…here we go again…another month starts…more rent to be paid and more depression to be endured…what a way to start the month. It was an okay day yesterday…made a little cash that might get me through rent next month..and, I got the chance to drive the car so that was good….slept like crap again and I may have to start staying up later just to see if that helps…but the boredom that comes with that would be a side effect that I’m not sure is a good trade off….I am taking the week off from cocktails just to get rid of the water that comes with that….and to give the liver a rest…might even try to go two weeks if the first one goes well…not much to do today…just the normal stuff….and the squeak is back in the bike again so that will have to be dealt with before I go out….it looks like just a t-shirt day for the ride and that makes it a long one….more later….
One last one for the month…
Well…it has been an interesting day today and I made a little money so that is cool….I have been sitting here trying to figure out what to write for the last one but I am still struggling with the whole idea of a topic….it is my least favorite day of the month after all…have to pay rent tomorrow…hmmm, so maybe that makes tomorrow the least favorite day? They’re both pretty bad…I did get to take a little drive today with the top down and that lifted my spirits somewhat but with taking the entire week off from cocktails…there will be huge quantities of boredom to deal with…and, the shutdown of the gov’t is just too much…where the hell did the adults go? I have had enough of the right’s bullshit and this will be pinned on them and their extortion and terrorism….okay, that’s enough for now….need to start all over again tomorrow….
Here’s the worst part…
Well…finally did get to the last one for the month and it is one that just makes me shake my head at the crap the repubs are trying to pull with the government shutdown…what really pisses me off about his whole thing is that the voters rejected everything these idiots are now trying to blackmail the country into by not funding the government…and that is what repubs are all about…they can’t win in elections with their crazy-assed ideas so they try to rig the game with voter suppression and by holding the economy hostage…but, the worst part is what they have put int he CR that was sent to the senate…the so-called conscience clause that would allow any employer to refuse to cover anything they don’t like in their health plans…if this is allowed to go on, the first thing to go will be contraceptive care for women, and then you can bet these bastards would find numerous ways to continue to cut people and coverage until the care will be worthless. Maybe this will be a good thing…when we take the house back…maybe we’ll finally get to single payer and take the employer out of the loop entirely…please proceed repubs…
September 30th
Well….it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much accomplished…was just in a funk and didn’t feel like doing much…I did watch the last “Breaking Bad” and it was pretty good…kind of figured they would kill Walt in the end and that was okay…I may just write an entire one about that later but who knows? I slept like crap and it appears the sleeping pills are no longer working so I need to try something else….not much to do today…I do have some chores to do around here along with the normal stuff but that is about it…no cooking even, just leftovers from the pork shoulder…starting to get tired of it so I may just have today’s dinner and then freeze the rest for soup…more later…
