Well…I am so damn tired of the media these days when they ignore the slush fund that is the Trump foundation that has been used illegally to make political donations and to secretly fund lawsuits against AG’s who sued the fake Trump University…and what do they focus on? Hillary has pneumonia…every network, every news show…wall to wall today about a common sickness and the effects she showed from it. Of course, the right wing slant in the media is that having pneumonia disqualifies her from the presidency…and that has already morphed into: “what is she hiding about her health”….now, I’ve had pneumonia and the symptoms I had mirrored what Hillary had…the long term cough that drags on and then the rest manifests in quickly declining…it put me in the hospital in the course of one night after walking around with it for a couple of weeks…and yes, you do feel weak…I hit the floor after getting off the bed getting ready to go to the hospital….the really sick part is that there is no sympathy for her feeling bad…just the normal Clinton conspiracy crap that is constantly floated by the right….while Trump continues to lie, cheat, and steal and not a word about it in the press….I fear for this country if the media continues on this path….geez…

Shame on you, Matt Lauer…
Well…not sure if you watched the debacle of the commander in chief forum last night, I did watch part of it and all I have to say is shame on you Matt Lauer. What a poor excuse for moderating this idiot did…the difference in how he treated Hillary vs. Trump was just stunning…going on for almost half of Hillary’s time about the stupid e-mail “controversy” that has been ginned up by Fox news with Matt interrupting Hillary constantly and showing her no respect at all…but when ole Trump came on, it was an ass kissing festival where Lauer let Trump lie and lie and lie and never called him on any of them…even the easily proven lies; never interrupting Trump once…just letting him go on and on spewing his ignorant nonsense and basically kissing Putin’s ass through the whole thing…lavishing praise on his “leadership”…when his “leadership” meant the murder of thousands and causing a war in the Ukraine. The ironic thing here is that he treated Hillary like some kind of criminal when she has never been charged or convicted of anything but completely ignoring the bribes, bankruptcies, and cheating that Trump does on a regular basis…along with the scam school of Trump U whose only purpose was to steal money from the rubes. I have lost all respect for Matt Lauer and think he should just go back to fluff pieces on Today…he has shown that he doesn’t have what it takes for serious political journalism…shame on you Matt Lauer…geez…
She let them off the hook….
Well…it was refreshing to see Hillary tear into Trump yesterday and his connections to the white supremacists that appear to be his core of support, and to call out his racism, homophobia, xenophobia, and every other phobia that the Donald has embraced. But, one thing I don’t agree with was that she let the rest of the repubs off the hook for being exactly the same as Trump, but just being that way with the dog whistles that were their mode of operation until Trump started using his bullhorn. At least since Obama was elected, and much sooner than that if you look at history, the repubs have been the party of hate, an you can still see that with the passing of all of the anti LGBT laws that are always pushed by repubs…the model being HB2 in North Carolina but that was preceded by the crap in Indiana. So, I think it was a mistake to give the rest of the repubs a pass on their roles in fomenting hate across this country…the light needs to shine on them, too….geez…
The DNC…
Well…I’ll admit that I didn’t watch much of the repub convention last week…someone would have had to pay me to watch the idiots there spout their hate and nonsense…I did read about it though to get a pretty good idea what it was about…fear, fear, some more fear, and then more fear….the contrast of that crap to the DNC this week is just so striking I can’t believe that Trump is almost even with Hillary in the polls….and the narrative that the media is trying to push, that the normal, everyday disagreements that pop up between people is dooming the dems to a loss in November has gotten so bad, even from MSNBC, that I reverted to C-span to get rid of the commentary. The meme that Bernie supporters are not going to vote for Hillary is another one that is getting a huge push from every network…and they are conveniently ignoring the polls that say that over 80% of Bernie’s supporters are already on board….when did the media get so lousy? Oh, well…at least we have had inspiring speeches from our side…I mean I was clapping when Joe Biden was on last night…going to miss him when he is done in January….and I am looking forward to Hillary’s tonight and I laughed at a tweet that I saw today…that Trump’s speeches are rated as wonderful if he doesn’t punch somebody but Hillary’s have to be better than the Gettysburg address or they are a total failure…yep, that’s just about right….geez…
I had reservations…
Well…with the pick of Tim Kaine for Hillary’s VP, I had my reservations that the pick was a good one…but, just listening to Tim give a speech right now, I will say many of those reservations are gone…not just from the speech but from all of the articles that have been written about him in the past day….and the differences between the two parties could not be more stark…the repubs were all hate all the time during their convention while the dems are all about hope, hope to make the US a better and more accepting place for all of our citizens….and you can bet there won’t be a plank in our platform that proposes discrimination against anyone….it appears that we progressives are going to move this country forward…at least I can hope….
Let’s investigate the investigation of the investigation…
Well…did you see this one coming? That the first response of the repubs to the FBI not finding any crime in the Clinton e-mail “scandal” is that the investigation the FBI did needs to be investigated? Because everyone just “knows” that Hillary is guilty and there must be a cover up going on since nothing was found…just like nothing was found in the 9 Benghazi investigations, like nothing was found in the Whitewater investigation…but the repubs continue to think that it is because the Clintons are “above the law”, not that there is nothing there…and now they are going to waste more of our money holding hearings on the investigation…I have had enough of these partisan hacks using our government for scoring political points….why don’t you do your job for a change? To go along with the obstruction that has been the centerpiece of the repub agenda for the past 8 years, we now have the idiot Ryan opening a new front by saying that he will ask the DNI to withhold security briefings from Hillary since she just can’t be trusted with the information….and Trump can be? God I hate these guys….they have done more to destroy the trust in the institutions of this country than any terrorist group could ever do…geez….
The e-mail “scandal” is over….
Well…was just watching the FBI director’s news conference on the Clinton e-mails and I can hear the heads exploding on the right with the announcement that they are not recommending any charges in the case. Now, I really didn’t think there would be any charges since if there were, they would have to go back and charge every secretary of state from the past 25 years since e-mail was invented because they all did exactly the same thing…using private e-mail accounts for public business….but I agree with the director that this was sloppy and there was the possibility that some secret material could have been stolen. I can’t wait for ole Trump to tweet about this one….should be fun to see…maybe I’ll came back when he does…..

Well…it was a day to remember yesterday with Hillary winning enough delegates to clinch the dem nomination for president….I was a Bernie supporter but I can live with Hillary…she is tough, smart, and knows what she is doing and has shown that with her time as SoS….and the 20 odd years she has endured the constant scandal mongering of the repubs…including the 50 million dollar boondoggle that was Whitewater where the repubs did their best but couldn’t find a thing that she had done wrong. I think it’s a great thing for our side that we are still trying to protect the progressive values that have been the hallmark of improvement in this country…while the repubs continue to regress to the 1800′s with their racism, homophobia, and the longing to return to the gilded age where 5 families controlled most of the wealth in this country. So, congrats Hillary…nice job….
This is going to be interesting…
Well…have been thinking a little about this year in politics and the only thing I can say is it is going to be interesting….I have been a little burned out on the whole thing for a while but with all of the firsts that are happening, I just have to pay attention. First, you have the candidate from the repub side that has pulled back the curtain to expose the seething hate that is the hallmark of that party….and does not apologize for his racism but revels in it….I have never seen this kind of candidate in my lifetime…and I don’t know if anyone has. Then we have the distinct possibility of electing our first female president and that makes me smile some…that, and the dems finally finding their voice against the lies of the right is going to make this interesting, too….I really can’t wait until they turn Obama and Biden loose…if the speech that Obama did the other day is any indication, it looks like we are in for a treat this summer and fall….can’t wait….
Pushback…finally….
Well…I have been really quite irritated with those of us on the left that have let the right set the terms of discussion over the past decade or so but that appears to be changing…and not a damn day too soon. I know that Bernie has been a lone voice in the woods for years now, railing against the lies and rigging of the country by the repubs, and his voice is now being joined by others that are changing the narrative by calling the right out on it’s lies. Starting with Elizabeth Warren and her truth telling on Wall Street and it’s manipulation of the economy which has been going on for a year now…we now have President Obama pushing back on the NRA’s program of lies that he and Hillary are going to take away everyone’s guns…reacting to a gun store owner repeating those talking points at a town hall just last week. The pushback really took on a new life with Hillary’s dismantling of Trump last week in a great speech on foreign policy….and it appears that we on the left are finding our voice again…that we are no longer scared of the lies of the right and are countering them with the truth…and shouting that truth everywhere possible….it’s about damn time….
