Well…it has been kind of a weird day today and I seem to be running late for everything…it may have been working on the car and ordering the new exhaust…yeah…that’s it…but, that’s not what I want to talk about…was just sitting here today thinking about the crap economics that the repubs have been pushing for the past 40 years and the fact that the results are in…that anywhere the tea party asses have been in control have seen their economies and budgets busted by the idiot “faith” that tax cuts will lead to a growing economy and that budget cuts will do the same….not in Kansas, not in Louisiana, not in Michigan…nowhere. In Kansas, the economy is so bad that they can’t even afford to educate their children after the tax cuts to the rich and business…here in Michigan, the love of austerity and tax cuts (only to business) has led to the poisoning of an entire city and cities that are going bankrupt with cuts in state funding…and, after Bobby Jindal got done with Louisiana, a dem had to come in and try to fix the cratered economy and education system. But, the only thing that repubs will learn from this is that they didn’t cut taxes or spending enough…if they had only cut taxes for the rich completely, it would have worked…a delusion that is killing this country…but, the idiots keep getting re elected so maybe the people deserve this crap….geez…

The problem in Michigan…
Well….as everyone predicted, proposal one to fix the roads here failed by a huge margin…and, as predicted, the repubs are misinterpreting the result to mean that the people here support their tax cut at all cost policies that have put us in this mess over the past 6 years. What these idiots need to do is to read the polls of why people voted no…the largest being that the legislature abdicated its responsibility to the state and the people to maintain the infrastructure just to give tax cuts to corporations and the rich. The problem is that tax cuts do not work…let me say that again…tax cuts do not work to spur growth or increase tax revenues…never have, never will…and the giveaway over the past 6 years of repub control is estimated to be 3.5 billion dollars…more than enough to repair the roads, fix the schools, and to share the revenue with our cities, which is where the growth comes from…not giving tax cuts to millionaires with the blind hope they will invest and create jobs. Now, let’s put an end to the idea that we are overtaxed, too…that honor goes to Minnesota who has a tax rate that is 30% higher than Michigan and has outpaced us in growth every year…and they fund their schools, fix their roads, and their cities are thriving. We need to stop this tax cut nonsense that has put many repub controlled states into this same downward spiral we see here in Michigan…and stop the faith based economics that has kept Michigan from the growth it could accomplish with a rational tax policy…I don’t mind paying a little more in taxes…just as long as it doesn’t end up in a CEO’s pocket like the last tax cut for corporations did….geez…
Another repub controlled state has a budget crisis…
Well…just had to write this one early so I won’t forget to do it today…just finished up reading the Detroit papers today and guess what the headline was….that our wonderful Michigan…home of tax cuts for the rich and business pushed by the repubs here is running the biggest deficit in its history, with the projections being that this years budget will see close to a 600 million dollar shortfall driven mostly by tax credits for business that the governor and legislators are “surprised” that they are taking. But, they are the only ones that are surprised…what the hell did they think was going to happen? That corporations would not take these giveaways out of the goodness of their hearts? Michigan now follows Kansas and Wisconsin into the black hole of tax cuts that do nothing to spur the economy or create jobs…especially when business is sitting on more cash than ever in the history of the world. The only time that tax cuts may work is when the cuts will free up money that business will spend on hiring or new equipment…tax cuts with so much retained cash just go to stock buybacks or increased CEO pay…nothing else. So, who pays for this boondoggle? If Michigan follows the pattern of every repub controlled state, there will be cuts to education and every other program that benefits anyone but business…and the state will be a worse place to live…just like every state under repub control…but they don’t care if business is happy…geez….
The people of Michigan sure are gullible…
Well…with the election passing and the people of Michigan cutting taxes on business, again, all I can say are that the people who voted for this tax cut sure are gullible. Don’t they remember the promises made a few years back when they cut taxes on business and raised them on retirees? Didn’t they notice that job growth here in Michigan is 37th in the nation when ole Snyder and his cronies said the cut would vault us into the top ten if not the top five in growth? And, here we go again…cutting taxes on the rich while starving cities of the revenue they need to provide even the most basic services while our roads, schools, and bridges crumble around us and the rich take their money and stash it in the Cayman Islands so they don’t have to pay any taxes…leaving the funding of government to the rest of us while the rich keep making money on the infrastructure that you and I are paying for. I think the rich have won….they have stolen the entire country and left you and I with the leftover crumbs….geez….
Another analysis says cutting taxes and austerity doesn’t work…
Well…read an interesting little study today where Doug Drake, the former head of revenue and tax analysis for the Federal Reserve, finds that dramatic cuts in taxes and spending like those that have been done since the repubs took control here in Michigan do nothing to increase prosperity or create jobs….read that again, the only thing that the repubs know how to do, that they take for their religion does not work! I know I’ve harped on this before but I think we in the middle and on the left need to keep shouting it until these idiots stop this crap…until they stop making this country crumble with their tax cuts for business and the rich…until they stop allowing children to go hungry for those same tax cuts…until they actually use facts and not faith for economic decisions…this is malfeasance on a grand scale and they need to be held accountable for it…it is just like what I was taught in my masters program…that you can never cut your way to growth…doesn’t work in business, doesn’t work in government either…geez…
Still no outrage…
Well…even after yesterday’s post on the takers in the repub party, I still can’t work up a lot of the outrage that normally fuels this thing…it’s not that I haven’t tried….but I think I’m in outrage overload and just a little numb from the whole direction of the country….where the ACA is doing good across the country and the repubs are still trying to take insurance away form those who have benefited from the law…and the bad thing is that these same people will vote for them since…freedom or something…not sure why the poor folks who vote for the repubs keep doing it…it’s not like they give a damn about them…they don’t…and have shown that for decades now…and no amount of regulation or tax cutting is going to get them into or keep them in the middle class…it only works to make the rich richer and make the rest of pay for their pollution and stealing of the natural resources that belong to every citizen….I guess that is communism or something…will never figure it out….geez…

Well…I not sure why the repubs are being allowed to get away with the delusion that it was just a bad candidate, not bad ideas that lost them the election…so, I’m going to repeat this one at least once a month to remind people just how batshit crazy these folks are…just remember rape, rape, rape…and the fact that these idiots think that a woman’s rights end when she gets pregnant…that that little lump of cells growing in her, and that could possibly kill here has more rights than the woman and she can be held hostage to a fetus…then, we have the idea from the right that math is subjective and can mean different things to different people…no, folks, math is math and when the math says that tax cuts for the rich do nothing but make rich people richer it’s not a liberal conclusion….it is THE conclusion and you need to accept it…then, we have the clamor from the right that we must cut “entitlements” like social security to cut the deficit…geez…how can these folks be so stupid? SS is funded on it’s own and has absolutely no effect on the deficit…and the same goes for medicare…so, let’s stop letting the repubs bring these into the argument…and, let’s talk about the deficit…doesn’t mean a damn thing when there is slack in the economy and the entire world is willing to lend us money at NEGATIVE interest rates…they are paying us to take the money so we should! The idiot repubs ideas have been proven to be wrong…let’s stop taking them seriously….geez…
A short comparison..
Well…there are so many things that people need to remember for the election in three weeks…I’ll list a few of them here..first what party wants to give more tax cuts to the rich and pay for them by taxing the middle class? Yep, you guessed it, the repubs…second, who wants to take away a woman’s right to control her body and her healthcare? Yay…you got two right, the repubs, of course…Who is the party that is doing it’s best to make sure your neighbors and mine can’t vote? Three for three, the repubs…the last one is just a general thing…who are the people who lie like rugs every time the open their mouths? That’s 100%…the repubs again…how can this election even be close? Geez….

Well…just a short one to remind people why ole Mitt is not going to reveal more detail from his economic plan…he doesn’t need to, just look back at ole GW’s plan and you will see everything that ole Mitt has to offer…tax cuts for the rich, exploding deficits, and much more income equality….let’s repeat that…tax cuts for the rich, exploding deficits, and more income equality…I should repeat it again but you get the point…geez….
A few things I find funny..
Well…have been thinking about a few things this morning and there are a few of them that I find funny…the funniest one was the bus tour that Mitt Romney did here in Michigan over the past few days where he touted the “jobs, jobs, jobs” that would come from his administration….but not once in the time here did he mention unions and his hatred of them and the fact that policies that he supports would destroy most of them…and along with them, the ability of people get a good job that would pay a living wage…I wonder what “jobs” he was talking about?
Another thing I find funny is the fact the businesses here in Michigan, and across the country have stopped hiring even after the huge tax cut they were given by the repubs that was supposed to work it’s “magic” and create “jobs, jobs, jobs”….but, no one is paying attention here…have never seen this fact mentioned in any newspaper (and I read almost a dozen of them everyday) or by any other media outlet…when did the lies of the repubs stop being news?
I think I’m getting fatigued by all of the political nonsense that is going on…oh, I do have one more thing I find funny…that the repubs are declaring “victory” in Wisconsin since Walker retained the governor’s chair…but they never mention that they lost the senate to the dems…let’s see him try to get any of the radical right crap passed now…and this idiot is now being considered as a VP candidate…geez…
